On my push back, they said $3k would cover it but the rear brakes would need to be replaced soon. Called Taylor's (my usual mechanic)... told them the things the dealership said it needed. Lucas asked if he could take a look at it because he was quite certain he had replaced the brakes only 12k miles ago and told me most of the other things sounded a bit like BS upcharges. Brought the car in to Taylor's and was told it needed some work to pass inspection, but only HALF the work as the dealership said and at a total cost of less than 1/3rd of the estimate from the dealer! Taylor's is a pleasure to work with, always professional, and they don't look at every customer like they are a sucker walking in to buy them their next vacation or boat. Taylor's is one of those shops where they work hard to earn the trust of their customers.

It is always fun to me to find a Sheetz to stop at on a trip. As you can see by my recent travels…read moreI have gone out of my way to find a location to go to. It also gives me a reason to detour from my route to make a stop and fill the time that I have on my hands at the time. I had a ton of time on my hand before where I needed to be, so I took a detour to find this one. This location feels like it is a bit lonely as it sits in a more residential area if you are coming from the one end. The other way there are several other businesses, but nothing that would make this a commercial district in any way. Even though it feel a bit lonely here, they are all the bells and whistles at this location. Outdoor seating, indoor seating, many different fuel types, and of course all the goodies you have come to know of Sheetz. I stopped here to get myself a snack, use the facilities and grab a few things that I really didn't need. It was a fast experience as I was basically in and out. I did stick around a bit to after making my purchase. I sat outside and took in the day before I hopped back into my vehicle and headed to my final destination. Customer service was swift and polite here. They were attentive and made for a swift transaction. I would definitely stop back here on my way through if I'm ever in the area again.

Went with Hot Ham with Pepper Jack Cheese, Dr Pepper BBQ sauce, on a Pretzel sub roll (hey, I had some fun and was creative haha). Picked up a bag of Salt and Pepper Herr's and also a pak of Boyer Butterscotch cups for my flight home the following day. Pennsylvania takeout junk food HEAVEN. I useta be torn on the Wawa vs Sheetz debate...I've now definitely slid to the Sheetz side. More variety...better food. Wish Sheetz would come down to Florida like Wawa did. And I'm glad my wife wasn't with me on my junk food run to Sheetz as she woulda likely suggested that I swap out the Herr's for a salad...

Decent rest rooms but my 12-pack was $3 more here than Sheetz. That's what you call paying for the convenience and minus one star for overpriced beer. Coffee machines grind and brew by the cup, so that is tasty for those who like it fresh. Restrooms were very clean one time and not so much the next. Hit and miss, just like some guys at the urinals. ;) If we need to pee and grab a beverage or two, this is the spot. Otherwise, the Dorrance rest area is just a little farther north on 81-N.

It's not a Sheetz or a Wawa. It's not even a Turkey Hill…read more Speedway is a large Midwest-based chain of convenience store/gas stations. They bought the gas station operations from Hess and are switching them over to their branding. Pros: They have a decent loyalty program that emails me coupons once a month. Cons: They sell a 54 oz. fountain drink but don't stock a straw long enough for the cup. The place is on the small side. But the biggest con is that they don't stock Pennsylvania-based junk food. They stock Twinkies but no Tastykakes and Frito-Lay but no Utz, Herr's, Middleswarth, etc. I guess people eat Lay's in the Midwest, but I don't know anyone in this part of PA where Lay's would be their first (or even second) choice for potato chips.
