A free consultation is offered on a sign on the door - good luck actually getting one. I requested one, explaining that I lived nearby and could come at any time on very short notice and was turned down flat. If they lie to you before you even get in the door, why would you believe anything they say? There are three different packages offered on Groupon but all are "not available yet". Horrendous experience!! I purchased a Groupon for 6 microdermabrasion treatments for $159. I booked my first session on October 6th. I arrived for my 11am appointment and waited almost 30 minutes for staff to arrive and open up the store. Upon arrival the woman was friendly enough and did a good treatment but never apologized for being late. I scheduled my second session for October 27th at 11am. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was waiting outside on the sidewalk. This is where I remained for the next hour! I called several times however there was no answer. I left several messages. An hour later I left, leaving another voicemail and note on the door advising that I had waited for an hour and noone arrived. The next day I received a brief voice mail for a man saying "oh sorry". I chose not to call back at that time as quite honestly I was really annoyed. My first appointment they were half hour late and my second appointment no one showed up at all! I felt the "oh sorry" voicemail was inadequate. I never received a follow up call from the spa. I would have expected them to make a greater effort to follow up with a customer that they simply never showed for to honor a scheduled appointment. I called today (March 26) to rebook. A bit of time has passed and I thought that I would return as they are very conveniently located to my home and after all I paid $159 and only received 1 of the treatments (30 minutes late but at least they showed up that time!). I was advised that my package had expired! I explained that I had not used the package due to them not showing up for my appointment, I advised that the fact that I was quite annoyed following my October 27 appointment where I left standing on the sidewalk for an hour. I suggested that they should honor the package due to their bad service practices. The man became incredibly argumentative with me, took no responsibility for their poor service and said no. This place has incredibly unprofessional business practices. I had found them as a result of a Groupon purchase so I guess they figured that I had paid the money already so they had no investment in resolving the issue. I would certainly NOT recommend them. If you do choose to go there do not pay in advance. Do not expect them to show up on time or well, maybe just don't expect them to show up. And if there is an issue that you bring up you can expect a defensive response and to be yelled at on the phone. Good luck in establishing your business! read more

Awful customer service! My sister and I had booked appointments for massages and facials, 2 months in advance through Groupon, confirmed and everything, and he even redeemed our Groupon vouchers before the scheduled date. The day comes and we call to let him know that we will be a little bit late and he tells us that our appointments have been cancelled! He was very rude about it and didn't properly explain why he decided to cancel them and the whole thing was a mess. Didn't end up going in and luckily we were able to get our money back through Groupon. read more

Great little spa at Vic Pk & Danforth. Amazing array of services and the "magic" products they use to make you feel refreshed and beautiful. They really want to help you have a restorative experience. I've never had any problems with them at all. I had to cancel really late one time, so I mailed them a chq. anyways because they are such nice people. I went recently, same good experience, and they handed me the chq back. Who does this? Yay! I recently moved to the neighborhood near Danforth village, I was excited to try out Sheen Day Spa, it has been a while since I had gone for a Facial and massage. For me, going to a spa is about the whole experience- not just the service itself. I like to go somewhere that has a great atmosphere, cleanliness and has clearly thought about the details. Sheen Day Spa did not disappoint me. The massage with body polish, I had was amazing- one of the best massages I have had--and I have visited top spas in both America and Canada. The active partner Sophia explained to me the procedure in detail during consultation, when talking with Sophia it is clear that she loves the community here and is passionate about her business. She believes strongly she has something unique to offer Danforth village. The facial I had at Sheen Day Spa was seriously the best facial I have ever had, and I am a spa junkie and have had a lot of facials. It was relaxing, all encompassing, and I felt completely taken care of during the facial. It was customized to me personally, and I walked out of there positively glowing. I noticed while I was in the spa that, the prices Sheen day Spa charges are higher than other places to get similar services in the neighborhood, but are very much in line with prices elsewhere in Toronto. To offset it they offer very attractive promotions online and in store especially for the walk-in clients. Overall, Sheen Day Spa is the type of business I am happy to support local run by a dedicated small business and offering high quality services to Danforth area, Often the talk about the quality of the businesses revolves around restaurants and retail establishments. I believe it's time for Danforth residents to have access to high quality spa services without having to travel elsewhere in Toronto. read more

TERRIBLE. Called the evening before to book an appointment and received a phone call the next morning stating they "weren't sure" if I was going to show up so they booked someone else in and needed me to come another day. Living an hour away this was completely uncalled for. It's tough to find spas that offer threading and as I frequent the neighborhood I had really high hopes. I was yelled at and called from private phone lines, very unprofessional. Would never re-book just for lack of customer care alone. In an industry where there is competition on every corner, it's the little things that matter. Especially considering it's a new business, you would think their priority would be the clientele. I have been to the Sheen Day Spa twice now for a facial and microdermabrasion and I have noticed fine lines have disappeared and some heavier lines have diminished. Sophie has a wonderful touch and is very pleasant. The facial was not just a facial with extractions and creams but a full service facial which incorporated stimulating treatments to firm the skin and the muscles underneath. I am very pleased with the results and have continued to book appointments there. The place is clean and both Ally and Sophie are lovely people. read more

Although the reviews on Sheen Day Spa weren't great it was the only spa willing to book me an appointment on Canada Day and so I thought I'd give it a try. I had a great experience. They were very welcoming and the place is clean, bright and nicely decorated - like a spa should be. I've had massages many times before and the RMT was very professional and repeatedly asked if I was comfortable and if the temperature was okay. The bed did have a hole to rest your head so I saw they'd made some improvements since January. The massage lasted an hour (what I paid for) and it was amazing. I left feeling relaxed and ready to take a nap. Upon leaving they gave me a $50 off coupon as a first time customer (nice touch), so I will definitely be back again. read more

So far they have been completely unprofessional. I've tried leaving messages for them twice now through their website and then again through my own personal email and have not received a single response. I've tried calling as well and can never get through, the one time I did manage to get someone they hung up on me just after answering. What kind of business is this? I feel like they are a sham and that the Groupon I purchased for this "Delux Spa" package is going no where and they are going to stiff me. I've been here twice now for eyebrow threading. it's very clean, beautiful, well laid out and the esthetician is really nice. The only issue is...I don't think she has a lot of experience with threading :( both times I had a lot of hair remaining that I had to pluck myself and this last time it looks like some skin has been removed and not the hair. My eyebrow is red and hurting...and it's been 1 week!! I do have sensitive skin but I've been threading for 10 years and never had this happen to me :( I really want to like this place, she's sooooo nice, thoughtful and kind :( I think she needs a bit more experience. I will be giving her one more chance....but maybe I will try her waxing. read more

I purchased a Groupon for six 45 minute microdermabrasion treatments at Sheen Day Spa. Two weeks later I called to book an appointment and the guy at the spa asked if I had a Groupon and if so, which one. I told him the six treatment package and he booked my first appointment. Three days later I went for that appointment and was ushered in by the same man from the phone. He didn't mention anything either time about an issue with the Groupon. My treatment was very nice and the esthetician spent nearly an hour and a half on my face and even gave me a hand massage. It was a comfortable and relaxing room and treatment. However, I am totally turned off the spa by what occurred next. I presented the Groupon to the man at the counter and was told that the Groupon was cancelled and I needed to pay for my appointment. They said I must have booked back in March and they no longer were offering the 6 package and it had been offered for too long. They told me I could just call Groupon and ask for a refund and they would charge me the same price as the Groupon for this one appointment. They were repeating this when I had a confused look on my face. I know Groupon is good for this kind of thing so I wasn't too concerned. However, this business practice really left a bad taste with me. They charged me $30 which is a good deal, especially for the time the esthetician spent with me. But feeling like they pulled a bait & switch on me really rubs me the wrong way. And at with 6 treatments at $159 - each appointment should be less than $30. When I called Groupon to cancel the rep was really surprised because I had only bought the Groupon 2 weeks prior AND they had not cancelled the offer with Groupon. The 6 appointment offer is still available online! Apparently the rep was going to escalate the issue. Sheen gave me a couple of coupons before I left for $50 off future treatments of $100+. But I can't trust any offers they have. I don't believe they wouldn't change it at the time I got to the cash. Not a good impression. If they kept the offer, I would have been there once a month over the next six months and would have established a long term relationship with the spa. But I am not going to go back. read more

The experience at Sheen Day Spa was absolutely fabulous! The staff was really nice and professional. I have had a lot of trouble with acnes and scarring and no treatment that I have done before has been both affordable and effective. When I came to Sheen Day Spa, the free skin care consultation helped me make practical skin care goals and I have been working on them ever since! Gifted a Groupon to my girlfriend. She booked the appointment. When the appointment was approaching, she received an e-mail from the Spa that they had to reschedule her to another date and time without any consultation/discussion whether it was a convenient time or not. She advised them that it was not convenient, and that she would contact them with a date and time. She received another e-mail with an arbitrary date and time, without any consultation. After the third time, that was it. Three strikes and you are out. We got our refund from Groupon and will move on. read more

I felt I was in good hands, the procedure was explained to me step by step. I wasn't given the hard sell at the end to buy products.
