Ok- we ate at Sheehans 3 times while in Dublin. We're not proud of it- we know there ate lots of great places in Dublin, but nothing seemed to top Sheehans. The Seafood Chowder is stellar. The Beef and Guinness pie was incredible. The mint peas were the best we had in Ireland. Everything we tried here was delicious. In addition to the delicious food- the service was phenomenal. Highly recommend making a trip to this pub! read more

Stopped in for lunch. Good food, good service, and great ambiance. Would go back for a pint and a meal anytime.

This place was a short walk from our hotel and was highly recommend by our concierge. It did not disappoint. I had the amazing and delicious famous irish stew. The food was so good. Of course their drinks were absolutely amazing! The service was excellent too. The waiters took very good care of us and offered plenty of recommendations. The bar was full of fun people having a great time! read more

Very typical Irish establishment. Lots of history, very authentic. Had what I consider a real Irish tradition, Lamb Stew. Was very pleased with the flavor, the ingredients utilized in the meal. The lamb was tender and flavorful. Would recommend them on your next trip to Ireland read more

Best bangers and mash I've had in years! My husband said the potato soup he got was his favorite food from our last two weeks in Europe. Excellent service and fun ambiance. The only thing to have made it better would have been some live music. Highly recommend! read more

Great spot - recommend stopping by! Good food and music... cozy vide with great bartenders!!

Highly recommend. With a number of pubs to choose from in the area - this place has been our favorite spot on our visit so far. The Chicken and stuffing sandwich was an innate combination of buttery crunch from the toasted sourdough and creamy umami of the chicken stuffing mix. Only here for 48 hours but looking forward to getting it again tomorrow. Live music was special too, artist was willing to take requests from the crowd. Even if he didn't know the songs he tried and performed a singalong with the bar instead. read more

Very friendly and the food was amazing. Service was superb. I had the fish pie and my husband had the corn beef and cabbage. The cornbeef was so tender. read more

Cozy bar and restaurant. Went with some friends, be patient if it's busy because again, it's cozy. Bar staff was really cool, got us drinks right away and seated us as fast as possible. I have the beef and Guinness pie. It was excellent, but piping hot so pro-tip, enjoy your drink and friends for a few more minutes before digging in. Essentially it's sort of a stew topped with mashed potatoes. Just to recap, good food, good staff, great atmosphere and location. I'll definitely return. read more

Great place to get authentic Irish fair. Prices were decent and food came out hot would definitely hit up again if I was in the area.

We stumbled in this pub while we were wandering the Grafton St. area on our first day in Dublin. The pub was casual and welcoming, with good vibes. We tried their fish and chips and burger, of course with beers. We were pleased and happy. read more

I came here with a friend and had a wonderful time. The service was wonderful. Being that we were from the states, the staff enjoyed giving use menu and drink ideas; as did our fellow patrons. We tried Guiness Stout. While not our favorite, it was proudly served and clearly a fan favorite and a tremendous source of Dublin pride. The pub clearly well established; has been in existence for 85 years. This pub has been in operation by 3 generations of Sheenans. The walls were filled with interesting bric-à-brac and the patrons (of all ages) clearly enjoyed themselves. It seemed very much like a place where everyone knows your name. read more

This was definitely one of the top 5 Pubs I visited in Dublin!! Walking in, it's swanky with a beautiful wood bar & great lighting. Perfect pint of Guinness served and they also have very good food! The Baked Ham Special will knock your socks off// Baked Ham, Dubliner Cheddar & Carmelized Onions on Sourdough... outstanding they said. Joint is always super busy but if you wait long enough you can snag a seat at the main bar which is where you want to be! Service is great as is the people watching// talk later read more

This is the first pub we ate at since we got here, so I don't have a lot to compare to. It's near Stephen's Green for an idea where it is. We wanted to try local food, so we got the fish and potatoe pancakes, the lamb shank, and the beef and Guinness pie. I would describe the fish and potatoe pancake more like a like a fish cake/croquette with a delicious sauce. It also came with some greens tossed in lemon juice. If you like fish dip flavor, then I try ink you would like it. The lamb shank came in a red wine based sauce and was also delicious served with mashed potatoes and large cut root vegetables. It was very filling and tasted good. My wife got the beef and Guinness pie. It was almost Shepard pie. The filling was very good and flavorful. I'd recommend this the most out of the three. The service was good and attentive. The ambience depends on where you sit. There is a main bar area but also smaller rooms that are more intimate. The bathrooms were also very clean (although one men's room was out of soap, but I was able to go to the one downstairs to wash my hands.) read more

Long business trip to Dublin allowed me to sample many Dublin pubs. Sheehans was my favorite. Two reasons: Nick, the manager, is the most hospitable man on earth (and one of the most charming). He's like a magician, managing the staff, manning the taps, greeting customers, taking food orders, rearranging guests needing to change tables ("Can we squeeze in five more?"), and dealing with spot issues. The second was the food. The beef and Guinness pie was outstanding! But everything looked delicious. The crowd (and the pub filled up quickly) was jolly, loud, and friendly. Sheehans is this American's "dream" of an Irish pub. If you want to smile ear-to-ear, come here. read more

Nick was an absolute delight. The food and drinks were simply amazing here. Nick was able to help walk me through some of the additional whiskeys they had at the bar and found out he's a fellow Red Breast man himself. This pub is in a good location with excellent food and service. The patrons here were welcoming as well. read more

Went here for lunch one day in July when they had just opened. Had the place pretty much to ourselves and got seated right away. The waitress was nice and the food was delicious. It was my personal favorite meal in our 3 days in Dublin. We ordered the corned beef and cabbage over mashed potatoes, which was scrumptious, I just wish that there was a bit more cabbage. It was sliced cabbage and they didn't serve a lot of it, although presentation was nice. As corned beef can be a little dry, they also served it with a side of gravy, which I didn't need to use, as I just ate it with the mashers. I really enjoyed it. The potato soup with brown bread is what my mum ordered and I thought that was delicious as well. I ordered a half pint of a lager of some sort and it was nice and refreshing on a humid Dublin day. Overall I would definitely go back to Sheehans for the food the next time I'm in Dublin and have recommended it to a few friends as well. read more

I was in Sheehans pub and ordered a coffee. It was served with 1 small sugar bag . The coffee was bitter and when I asked for another sugar I was told they had no more sugar. As it was only 3 .pm I found this unbelievable and mean . Thomas Lundy read more

Great pub atmosphere. Drinks were great but potato soup was not to my liking - as if the added a little milk and flour to mashed potatoes

The fish and chips will blow your mind! Perfect pints with smiles in kind. Gents that make the saying true - the Guinness here is good for you! The Guinness pours great here, very important. Fish n chips are gas, chowder could be thicker but the flavor is on point and it doesn't matter much once it's soaked in the delicious Irish bread. Definitely stop by for a pint outside at the very least. read more

Two blocks off of Grafton St. is an Irish Pub I'm already having fomo from. One of our standout meals in Dublin was here at Sheehan's. Though we were one of the first customers of the day, the food was nothing short of dynamite. The menu is comprised of traditional Irish staples and pub fare. There was no way I was leaving Ireland without feasting on Corned Beef and Cabbage, and boy does Sheehan's execute the dish phenomenally! Two giant slabs of corned beef met my tongue with ease. Make it a perfect bite by dipping it with tender cabbage and creamy (yet not overly salted) mashed potatoes. The plate alone weighed two pounds, it filled my soul with love and comfort. The rustic bar has been around for a long time, but it's clean, warm and filled with character. I also ordered a Whiskey Sour with local Teeling whiskey and I can honestly say I wouldn't have changed a thing. My only regret was not stealing more bites of my lady's Fish n' Chips, because they were just as lovely as my entree. Sláinte till the end of time! read more
