We were continuously given medication without a clear explanation of the underlying cause. When we finally sought a second opinion at another veterinary hospital, we were informed that he had advanced stomach cancer as well as kidney disease. We were told that his condition had progressed significantly and that earlier, more comprehensive testing might have made a difference. We were devastated to learn that it was too late for effective treatment and had to make the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep. What makes this even more upsetting is that after losing our dog, we continue to receive repeated calls regarding the remaining balance from the last visit. During a time of grief, we expected empathy and compassion not persistent billing reminders. Pet owners deserve transparency, thorough diagnostics, and genuine care

The staff from that first horrible phone call to make arrangements to put him down until the very last moment of picking up his ashes was nothing short of exemplary compassionate service. They were so caring and kind every step of the way and really helped my family navigate through one of our worst days. If I could give them a thousand stars I would.

I have had my animals seen there for over 10 years. I made excuses for rude staff and for staff…read morethat really didn't care including doctors. It was apparent to me the practice became strictly motivated by financial gains. Both my animals received care that was below my expectations. One surgery they promised a 2 inch incision, she was cut from the top of her shoulder to her underbelly. She looked like Frankenstein.the same pup had chronic ear infections ( all the time). Medication just for that was close to $500 each time I left there and went to an animal hospital in Philly within 2 weeks it was done. Outrageous. Unfortunately after all this I lost both of my girl. 14 yo and 15yo I vacillated if I should write this but it still haunts me how we were treated. Whenever I get fur babies I certainly won't go back.

He lost weight and they thought maybe it was a mass or infection. After she left, my normal hamster couldn't walk or breathe after the exam . They wound up putting him on oxygen and he died ten minutes later . I am not blaming them for his death but they definitely contributed. Working in the medical field as a nurse for 20 years he prob aspirated or maybe the tumor perforated when pressed (there was blood coming out his private areas). I do think it was the deep pressing . I know you have to do that to examine him but I think if I never brought him there , yea he may have passed in a few months peacefully in his home from a tumor - not traumatically after an exam. That morning he was running in his cage, eating , etc - they say this couldn't been avoided . Yea it could - if you didn't press so hard on my hamsters he would be alive. It happened immediately after he was examined. Now I'm devastated I blame myself for bringing him there. He prob would have passed at home in a few months, but peacefully with me. I won't ever go there again. She was nice but not that empathetic, I got him cremated and got charged 400 to leave without my hamster. Least they could do is pay for that. I'm sorry they def contributed to his death. I never write reviews I never complain, but when I feel something is a miss I have to say something esp with my medical knowledge. My poor Humphrey.

If I could give no stars, I would. I will NEVER go back to Heart + Paw Cherry Hill…read more I recently took my dog here. I explained the situation/problem and they took my dog out of the room (out of my sight) to express his glands. I heard him yelp so loudly I almost went back there. Over $300 later, they shaved his rear end, told me his glands were empty, sent me home with scented wipes, and told me it was just a hygiene issue. They shaved his rear end so close to the skin that the area was extremely irritated and raw. I couldn't use the fragrance wipes if I even wanted to. I've had my dog for almost 3 years now and this hasn't been a problem until a few weeks ago. I took him to another vet about a week later, who within five minutes of examining him (IN FRONT OF ME) found a large mass in the exact area where the other vet had shaved. This vet not only checked his glands and found the mass, but also tried to drain the mass (which was unsuccessful), took samples to send to the lab to get tested for cancer, and provided two different medications. Did I mention it cost less than Heart + Paw? I asked for a refund and they only offered a credit. I demanded a refund and told them I would not be returning. The Dr. who called only seemed interested in covering themselves, explaining that they have seen several pets who come and within a few days, the problem drastically worsens and they weren't able to examine it at the time of the appointment. It felt very much like the Dr. was trying to say this mass grew within the week between seeing a vet at Heart + Paw and going to the other vet. Now, I'm not trained in veterinary medicine, but with the size of this mass, it seems nearly impossible. You're a vet office. Patient first; not covering your ass first. WARNING: Do not take your pets here. Save yourself the hassle, money, and disappointment.

I've been coming here for years - Drs. Scoleri and Schumacher have been excellent. Highly recommend…read moreif you're in the area and looking for a vet!
