For almost 15 years Bryan Animal Hospital has cared for our little Shih Tzu Madison. We certainly knew and understood she was getting older but as of her last checkup in great health. This past Tuesday evening, Madison appeared to lose her balance but seemed perfectly fine after that. On Wednesday, we were out of town but our son came home and cared for her. Early Thursday morning she appeared out of breath and again lost balance. Our son called and brought Madison in and Dr. Horn examined her. Dr. Horn said she had a upper respiratory infection and detected a slight heart murmur. She prescribed an anti-biotic and said to bring her back in two weeks for some tests. That afternoon my wife spoke directly to Dr. Horn and was given the same information as our son. Although Madison was almost 15, Dr. Horn said there was no reason for concern. At 10;15 pm Madison collapsed. We rushed to the nearest 24-7 Emergency Animal Hospital in Mt. Laurel, but it was too late. We called Bryan Animal Hospital Friday morning and spoke to the receptionist who knew us and Madison for quite some time. Dr. Horn we were told was not in, but the receptionist promised she would give her the message. There was obviously more than a respiratory infection if at all. Had Dr. Horn been more aggressive in her diagnosis, testing and treatment, Madison might still be with us. After leaving a message for Dr. Horn.....Have you heard from her?? We haven't !!!

I've known about Ace of Spays for several years. I first heard about them through a friend's…read morerescue, so after rescuing a cat this fall, they were my first-stop for advice. They were wonderful. Dr. Cobb got back to email questions-- and I wasn't even a client, not at that point. So anyone complaining about not getting a call back-- did you check the number you were calling? Whenever I've called Ace of Spays over the last 2 months, if I left a message, I got a call back. The only time the phone rang without anyone picking up was this past Friday when I was dropping off my cat for a neuter; I had a quick question, but I was in the parking lot, so I just went inside, figuring worst case scenario I could drive the 3 minutes back home to get the paperwork I had forgotten. First, I want to note how amazing everyone on staff that I had contact with has been-- both before bringing my kitty for his surgery and since. As I said, I first contacted them about advice for a female cat I had rescued. I was trying to find her a longer-term rescue. I had taken her in during the cold snap we had at the beginning of December. I was hitting brick walls wherever I turned; no organizations within 100 miles of where I live would help. And when the cat started to go into heat, with an intact male in the house awaiting his neuter appointment, that wasn't a good mix. I needed help, and Ace of Spays put me in touch with a rescue that actually helped. They gave me a list of different organizations that I could reach out to, but stressed one in particular, which wound up being the group that helped get the cat the care she needed. Second, Ace of Spays offers the highest quality care. Don't let the lower costs scare you away. Several years ago I had another pet neutered at a different vet. I received little to no instructions beyond the appointment time. No options for pain meds. Not even instructions on whether or not kitty should be confined after his surgery. Nothing. So I was pretty surprised to see the detailed instructions on what to know before the surgery, what to know after the surgery, and about pain meds as an option when I made my current kitty's appointment. I was actually upset, thinking about it, especially since the other vet charged just a few dollars shy of $500 for the exact same surgery which Ace of Spays charged, with 3-days of pain meds, only $185. With the other vet, I was told more than half the cost went to anesthesia. With Ace of Spays, my cat got the same kind of care, but I think with their specialization in spay and neuter, they have more expertise than a regular vet. Also, with the pain meds were a liquid (meant to be given orally), they gave me pre-measured syringes. So there was no guesswork about how to get a pill into a cat who refuses pills (even in the little pill pocket thingies or rolled into a churu treat). And everything was easy to schedule online, easy to pay the deposit, and easy to pay the balance. And, if I had questions-- they were either a phonecall or an email away. Highly recommend. They do good work, necessary work and are literally life savers.

She had been ill but then the pain became so great that she began to suffer. I called Willingboro Vet where we take our dogs for checkups etc. They gave me an appt for the same day. They were really nice and accommodating when explaining the process and allowing my children and I to mentally process what was about to happen. I never thought that I would feel so deeply for my dog. I cried and literally found myself falling apart. The Vet technicians were so kind, compassionate and patient. They provided a variety of treats and a chocolate kiss as her last treat and told us to take our time and take as many treats as we like for our dog. We spent approximately 30 mins talking, petting and hugging our dog. Then we decided to step aside to do what was necessary. We held her until her last breath crying and sniffling while trying to console one another. This was a sad dad for us but it was best. The vet offered us imprints of her paws which we graciously accepted. They use these round clay discs to press which ever paw(s) you like. I decided to make them into ornaments so I put a whole in the 4 discs and baked them 10mins. Per the instructions. The next step is to pain them. Although this was a sad occasion I must say that Willingboro Veterinary was so kind and understanding. The service we chose cost $272.00. Great service!

I should've seen the red flags when their main concern was payment and not the cat. without going into a tremendous amount of detail when I picked my cat up very late in the day, he was not ready to be released, but because it was getting late they hurried everything along when I got the cat home he had no use of his rear legs because he had been so overly sedated. When he tried to come out of the crate, he was absolutely terrified, and the psychological impact it had on him lasted for about three weeks. I had to spoon feed him, swaddle him and constantly give him attention. They gave me no warning as to how bad he would be when he came out of the crate had I known I would've kept him in the crate and kept him calm. But in their haste to get us out of there, I guess they did not do their job correctly. When I told them this, they blamed me because I took the cat and even said I was petting him while he was in the crate. Of course I was petting him in the crate. It wasn't until he tried to get out of the crate that I realized how bad he was. The nurses had put him in the crate so they knew, but did not tell me. They've accepted no responsibility , the surgeon has not called me. All they have tried to do is point the blame in my direction as if I was overreacting. These people should go into a different business dealing with fast food or something that they're more qualified to deal with because their ability to handle clients and patients is absolutely reprehensible. I will never go back there I will never recommend anybody goes there and I would be the first to cheer if I saw them be shut down horrible horrible people. Apologize for the typos I voice feature as I am a senior citizen with arthritis. by the way, I take care of a colony of stray cats I've had two other cats the same exact procedure. were much smaller however they didn't have any of the side effects that I referred to above these cats were not treated by Mansfield they were treated by another veterinarian obviously going to Mansfield was a-massive mistake, but I guess we learn from our mistakes. I'm hoping that this review prevents someone from making the same mistake I . If you go for a rabies shot I guess they're OK but do not trust them for any big things not to mention they're about $600 over the estimated price.
