I waited a few weeks for my anger to subside before writing this. I had been going to Haddon Vet for a few years with my dog and cats and always had a good experience. Then my cat got sick very suddenly and after a trip to emergency vet the night before I went to them. They gave her fluids and drew blood and said they would have results next day. I waited till noon and no call and I was getting more worried as she was getting worse. So I called and was told oh the doctor left you a voicemail this morning. I received no voicemail so asked what number did she call and she gave me some number that wasn't mine. Yet all my appointment reminders come to the correct number. When I asked to speak to the doctor I was told she was gone for the day and I'd have to wait till tomorrow. I said this can't wait I need to know now. I was told the other doctor could call me after 3pm. So I waited no call I called again to be told he was too busy to call me. That's when I went off. I then had to go back to the emergency vet to find my cat had an infection and was dehydrated In total I spent over $1,000 between the two places. A week later I get my cats test results in the mail from Haddon Vet and a note saying to never come back. We had been going to Haddon Vet over the course of 3 years, so I am sad to say we are now leaving after ending with a disappointing experience. What I will say is the vet support staff are very kind and gentle, and we worked with Dr Anthony over the years. I had always been impressed by the time he took with our pets and his demeanor. That said, over the course of the 3 years we had consistent health issues with our senior cat - vomiting multiple times a week and ongoing litter box issues. We had followed all litter box issue steps, and still could not resolve it. We had him go through years of blood work, kitty Pepto, tried different food, an arthritis shot (very expensive), even Prozac. Things came to a head when he stopped eating, became very sluggish, was hiding in the bathroom, and had diahhrea multiple times outside of his box. I brought him in, and they brushed off the eating issue as "cats sometimes just don't like to eat", and wanted to "treat the diahhrea symptoms". They then paused after seeing some elevated white cells and to come back for an x-ray just to be sure. They called me back in the next day with the very unfortunate news that he had a massive mass. I asked how it was possible all these years this didn't show or be approached with an x-ray earlier (I'd been there just 3 months prior again with the ongoing issues). They said they had already "looked for the big things". But never cancer - how is that not classified as a "big thing" when NOTHING else had been found? I reviewed the blood test they just ran, and it is one they had never run in any previous visits. It is a horrible feeling to know you have been advocating for your pet that something hasn't been right for years, and instead just ongoing tests and medications without looking for one of the biggest things you'd think to look for when a cat is older and nothing else is being found. I know so many people have had good experience - I share this that there is always an outlier. PLEASE don't hesitate to advocate for your pet and just assume other positive experiences means everything they are doing for your pet is resolving an issue. read more

Haddon Vet is located in a normal suburban neighborhood, so you are in right place if you see that you're driving through that type of area. The staff at Haddon Vet are always welcoming, kind and informative. They answer all your questions and you don't feel rushed. Like other vet places I've been to, they do not have a list of prices for services (ex. vaccinations. etc.) which I wished they did. If vet places did, this will be better overall as customers won't be so surprised on their bill. They have a small parking lot and most people just park on the street. 4/5. read more

They were fine. 3.5 really. Brought the cat in to update his vaccinations and to get his ears checked out. Ten minutes later, I was $260 poorer - a bit of sticker shock, I think. While I was expecting to pay for the visit and his vaccinations, I wish I'd been warned in advance that a bringing in his stool sample would cost $50, that testing his ear swabs and the meds would be an additional nearly $70. I'm not arguing that these costs are valid, I just wish that I'd been told what they would cost (or at least an estimate) before doing so. For example, I was just told to bring in a stool sample. I probably would have declined the testing because the cat wasn't having any issues relating to the stools. Lesson learned. ASK MORE QUESTIONS. Not just about pricing but about everything else. The last pet I had lived to the ripe old age of 14, and my previous vet was always pretty good about costs upfront. The vet and vet tech who attended were fine, the time spent with the vet was less than 10 minutes, all the technological advances to sign up for reminder etc. are helpful. Thanks. read more

you can be the best doctors in the world; however, staff will cripple your practice. This is what's happening with Haddon Vet. Unfortunately, Faye has been there since 2023, and her demeanor is far from norm. She lacks empathy, respect and people skills, and more. Dr. Anthony is a wonderful doctor and there is a waitlist. I scheduled a month in advance for an appt. in November for my cat. Unfortunately, it was lost in the system so I had to reschedule for another month. Meanwhile, he's vomiting. I must have offended Elizabeth when I asked her if she could somehow accommodate us for the inconvenience and schedule sooner. Unfortunately, she didn't even give me any options rather than go to another doctor. I respectfully asked her to have the doctor call me. The following morning, I received a nasty message from Faye advising that It would be in my best interest to go to another doctor since I 'was not a good fit and they were canceling my cat's appt now scheduled for 12/13th -I am moving on however I do want the doctors to know what's happening and how his staff is treating its clients. Faye has serious anger issues and should be terminated or rehabilitated. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Anthony and Dr. Lauren @Haddon Vet, as well as all his techs (especially Bonnie) and all the wonderful front desk people! This is the first place you should bring your pet for vaccinations, yearly check-ups or illnesses! You'll experience respect for you, your pet and your wallet!! Dr. Anthony only orders testing that he knows will give him and you important answers to your pet's health, not like so many other vet clinics that just pad your bill! Dr. Anthony is the best. I have a VERY stubborn English Bulldog Mix (aka Ozzie) who is a challenge. He is not a fan of the vet. But Dr. Anthony is patient with him (and me). The last time I brought him in, there was no way in *%@) he was going in the building. Between me, the vet tech, and poor Dr. Anthony pulling up the rear, we got him in the building. And of course, when he got in the building he was fine. But I am sure when Dr. Anthony sees Ozzie's name on the "patients for the day", he might roll his eyes a little but he takes care of my crazy pooch very well. read more

I had to put my dog down today and i called Haddon Vet. All my dogs were handled here. My problem with today is that the Woman that answered the phone, was very apathetic towards my situation. She was very short and said we only have a 4:30pm and it was 12pm. I didn't want my kids to see the dog in his condition after school. So I told her i would have to call back, she gave me no suggestions whatsoever. I called around to no avail....So i called back and she said that the 4:30pm was filled....again i asked if anyone cancels let me know.....She basically didnt give s#$t. I called Berlin Vet hospital, and a perfect stranger said please call Urgent Pet Care in Sewell! She was so nice, and When I Called Urgent Pet care they took me right in! The girls came and Petted Mikey and listened to my blubbering stories of my kids with the Dog. The Person that did the procedure was so understanding and i cant explain in words her bedside manner. They even helped me carry mikey to the Car, cause of my physical condition from a strok. Mikey was 18 years old, and was a Great doggie.... I learned learned one thing that sometimes people are going thru Life Stuff and have Bad Days, but when your responsibility is towards your clients than just put on a Game Day Smile and be so what compassionate . The vet gave us additional information and even printed us out an article to help us watch out for warning signs of a bladder infection! I first became acquainted with Dr. Anthony when I lived at the Jersey shore and he was working at a practice there. My 5-year-old cat had been very ill for several months. I had taken him to three different vets, including the esteemed U. of P., yet no one could figure out what was wrong with him. But Dr. Anthony did - it turns out that my kitty had an advanced case of deadly vaccine associated sarcoma - and he enabled me to come to the decision to send my beloved boy over the Rainbow Bridge. I didn't want my Omar to pass in a cold, clinical veterinary office. This practice had a nice backyard with lots of trees. That's where I wanted to say goodbye to my kitty. However, the receptionist at this office was very mean, and yelled at me saying that this was out of the question. Then Dr. Anthony intervened and insisted that my wishes were to be granted. As a result, this most painful moment was lovely and peaceful. I later moved near Cherry Hill and learned that Dr. Anthony was working out of a practice in Clayton. I took my new kitties to him there, but sadly determined it was just too much of a schlep. So imagine my delight when I learned that he opened his own practice in Haddon Heights, a mere 5 miles from my current home! I cannot say enough kinds things about this wonderful vet. He is compassionate, caring, highly trained in both traditional and holistic veterinary medicine and just an all-around great person. I cannot praise him enough! read more

I had high expectations and sincerely, Dr. Anthony exceeded them all. We are new patients and fairly new pet owners who, in the past 18 months, have had the full spectrum of vet experiences from great to despicable. Expect a friendly and knowledgeable staff who were equally as warm and patient. The cleanest and most inviting office I've been in with easy access off 295 which was a nice surprise. Dr. Anthony was not only patient but very detailed with his assessments, exam, tests and spent time explaining treatments and expectations. Food suggestions specific to our dog's breed and age were spot on and welcomed while offering insight on tried and true research along with new findings. It's so difficult to find a vet who also is open minded to finding the root of the issue instead of being prescription happy and offer a quick fix to bandaid the symptoms. The treatment plan is reasonable in price and ingredients as was the entire cost of visit. Im not one to leave reviews anywhere but then again, never had such an experience. read more

The new vet, Dr. Anthony, is amazing. I took my animals to him almost a decade ago when he was part of a practice in Margate. When he moved to Clayton, I followed him there. He's that great and that special. When you care deeply about your pets, as I do, you'll travel near and far to ensure they receive the best care. That's what Dr. Anthony delivers. Now, Dr. Anthony owns his own practice in Haddon Heights. I'm so thrilled for him! My little Minnie receives a combination of standard vet care as well as holistic treatments for arthritis that have had incredible results that other veterinary practitioners are astounded by. Dr. Anthony's staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the facility is clean and homey. In fact, the lobby smells like fresh flowers. You wouldn't even know that you're in a vet's lobby. We had a pleasant first visit for our small pup's maintenance vaccinations. I asked ahead for the price of his visit and what I would expect to pay because we are new pet owners and I did not know. Our visit was three times the cost I was given over the phone, and it was only a first check and vaccines. The visit was great, but be prepared to pay more here than other local care centers. read more
