CONS: My girlfriend and I walked in from the front of the place... Well it's a little dated compared to the rest of the shop. I'm not saying it was nasty because it wasn't at all just dated. Easily put the waiting room needed a make-over. It could use a bright paint job, it was sort of dark (once again compared to the rest of the establishment), remove the carpet and continue with tile in that area. "Oh, real quick to the owners if you read these reviews. Your waiting room was what made you guys almost lose our business. KEEP EVERY PART SIMPLE AND MODERN AT THE LEAST." I wanted to give you guys a chance because I looked at the actual styling floor. PROS: First of all, I want to say I'm going to leave somethings out because well it's a lot to rave about. Now if you are trying to make it to an interview and need a quick in and out experience, don't go here. THEY ARE NOT ABOUT THAT! This is a place to bring a close friend, boyfriend, or girlfriend so you guys and really chew the fat like kings and queens would. They take their time with your feet, they actually give you a massage you can relax with while getting it. Now I used to work in a spa, we used to prepare personal bowls of water for our clients, so do they (my bowl could have been bigger, I'm the male of course they didn't think I was coming). My girlfriend fit the bowl just fine. Real quick I read the other review, I didn't look at the emery boards because as long as they work why care, also I would rather someone use a cheap CLEAN emery board that they replace per client then just give me the barely washed ones. I always have to beware of that with the speed spas. The manicure was another big hit for me and my girlfriend. We also gave them the Groupon try and to be honest we stole their business that day. Yay, us. Great deal for what we got. The lady who did my lady's nails gave her a very nice design and excellent polish job (a lot of places charge extra for such a thing). They did something I truly prefer which was the buffer polish for myself instead for clear coat. The hand massage was great, no really, that was damn great. Oh let me go back the chairs in this place for pedicures where like freakin lazy boys my goodness. Don't fall asleep because it's possible. Oh yeh now the music for your experience can be modified for you because......THEY USE PANDORA! Smart move you ask me. Last but not least, let me say I know this place must have great customer service and I will easily explain. This will counteract the last review easily. When my service was done, naturally I finish first because my girlfriend was getting her design. My service lady had a new client that came through and left I guest she was thinking her stylist was going to be a different color, creed, or something; so the lady left. Now my stylist could have done a ton of things: clean-up whatever she wanted in the shop, went to lunch, got on her phone, or anything. My service lady walks up to me with the most confident face and asked "Would like another hand massage while you wait?" CONCLUSION:, THEY HAVE WHAT IT TAKES to make a nice experience for a nice date. If you want this to be the beginning of a first date, good choice. You haven't seen your friend in forever and want to spend some real time, go enjoy their spa treatment. Leandra is very knowledgeable about natural hair and how to repair it back healthy. As you seat in her chair she tells you what she is doing to your hair. If you are like me and have questions about the products being used and why then, don't hesitate to ask her. I was surprised when she was willing to tell me step by step what she is putting in my hair, what she is doing, and why she is doing it. That is something I really appreciate about Leandra, is her work ethic when dealing with her clients hair. I see for her it's not about how many people she can get in, in one day, but more about educating her clients about their hair. Ever since I started going to Leandra I've seen changes in hair that I probably wouldn't see if I never found her. However, there is one thing I would suggest to her, is for her to allocate her time properly so her clients wouldn't have to wait 30-40 after the appointment time to be seen. I understand some days may be long and she may have a busy schedule, but I think she could arrange her schedule so her clients times don't overlap. With that being said, if you are a person that is punctual and like to stick to your timing schedule, then booking your next appointment with Leandra may not be a good fit for you. Unless, you plan that day you are getting your hair done as your "hair day" because it will take more than usual to get your hair done. On the other hand, if you are a person like myself that doesn't mind the wait time, then I think Leandra could work for you. As for the ambiance of the location, it is very calming and relaxing. Depending on the day you go in, you may hear some gospel, r & b, soul, or jazz music playing. All in all this establishment is very clean and welcoming to people of all colors and hair texture.

I had the opportunity to find Shae Mitchell on the internet…read moreand I then checked her out on Facebook!! Her shop has only been open for (3) weeks inside the Riveroaks shopping mall. I made an appointment and I was blessed to meet her at the front desk. She and her staff, some of them greeted me so warmly, I felt right at home. I was there st 12:10 and was at the shampoo bowl By 12:25! Everything else was so easy. She asked what I wanted and was not ," scissor happy" She gave me exactly what I wanted. I walked out of the salon a very happy patron. Finally found a hairdresser that not only keeps appointments but Is a very humble person. The owner, Shae Mitchell Walker, did my hair herself. She also let me know that everyone in her salon can take care of me if she cannot. Such professionalism!!!!! I have my next appointment in (2) weeks. When I first entered I was welcomed to a very happy and light atmosphere and greeted by a kind receptionist. My appointment was at 5 I was out of the salon in 3 hours which isn't bad at all. With that being said, there are 2 reasons why I wouldn't be returning. First, they charge before your hair is even styled. To me that's sketchy because what if I don't like my hair ? (Which happened to be the case in the end). Second, after I showed her my inspiration picture she did it completely different! I was like umm this is too fluffy. She said well it'll lay down when you wrap it up tonight. I was so confused. She could tell I wasn't pleased and asked what could she do. But we were the last ones in the salon and you could tell she wasn't REALLY tryna stay any longer. I was so upset cause I just paid $130 for something I had to go get fixed the next day by a inner city stylist. Who only charged me $50 because of my circumstances but would've been $90 without any. And let me to you she SMOKED my hair. I'm not gone be rude and advertise for her here but Just do your research before booking. Cause I just paid $180 for style that would've costed $90.
