Unfriendly atmosphere. There is a stylist there that does what she wants to your hair and not what the customer wants and she charges you to fix her mistakes. When you go back to get the mistake fixed, she makes sure your view is obstructed so you cannot see what she does the second time. Talked to two other customers that were also unhappy. read more

She's extremely passionate about her work, not to mention she's absolutely hilarious and I look forward to seeing her for my hair appointments. 1) terrible cuts 2) Didn't listen to what we asked for. Horrible cut. I get my kiddos haircut at two different places. I wanted to try a new place since it is closer. Never has any person cutting my child's hair have messed up. He is one year old. Age is not an excuse because he has had his cut before one year old and never had they messed his hair up and isn't a child to yell and move through a cut (for those that think, oh well he is one). We SPECIFICALLY told her what we wanted and he sat on his dads lap. My husband has the exact cut we wanted. This is NOTHING close to what we asked or even an example right in front of her!!!! I have been going to Shear Express on-and-off for more than 15 years. Over the years, I have tried different places closer to where I lived in the city. However, I have never walked out of a salon feeling as consistently satisfied with the cut and color as I do when I leave Shear Express. Upon my last visit, I received clarification that they have been in business for over 19 years! Let me tell you, there is a reason for their success. The look of the salon is always fresh and in-style. The counter service is always friendly and they continue to higher hip, well-trained stylists. Not only do you wind up with a pleasant salon experience and a great cut/color, you walk away spending much less than their competitors. I had a full highlight and cut for $65. I have paid more than double for the same service and been far less satisfied at the quality of the work. Overall, I think that this is likely the best hair salon I have experienced and I highly recommend it to anyone. read more

The staff is super friendly and the place is adorable and clean. Kaitlyn does AMAZING work (she rocked my balayage and my cut) and I can't see myself going anywhere else in the foreseeable future. I have been visiting Shear Express for a long, long time, 20 years at least. Jenny, the manager, has been my go to girl for styling, hair cuts and color. No disappointment here when you have any service. They also do facial waxing and they have a large amount of products available to keep your hair looking it's best. First off, let me just say if I could give this place 0 stars I would. My sister and I went there for the first time. She wanted to color her hair and I wanted to get an ombre look. Some of the hairdressers did NOT look like they knew what they were doing. It took two people to brush my sister's hair and she complained that it was hurting and they were pulling on it. I could feel my hair literally breaking off too while my hairdresser was brushing my hair. She also kept jabbing my ear with her comb; it was really a painful experience. When I was done that day, I was wondering why I couldn't see any highlights in my hair. It didn't even look like she did anything to my hair. I found out that there were only a few highlights hiding UNDERNEATH my hair and plus parts of it still looked like it was straight up bleached. Like really?! This place shouldn't even exist in my honest opinion. Apparently these people do NOT know what they are doing. They just hire anyone it seems. I literally heard one of the hairdressers asking the owner "do I keep the bleach on for this long, how long"...I'm didn't go to a salon to pay $120.00 for a few highlights that aren't even colored properly and to be a first-timers guinea pig. No thank you! Save your money and hassle and go to Ulta professional hair stylists. You will get really professional results for the same price or even less! And I don't even know where to begin with my poor sister. She was horrified about her hair. They even got bleach on her ears! My sisters hair on the other hand was just a mess. They didn't know to use a stripping agent for her hair since it was previously colored. Instead they used regular bleach first like idiots and then the stripping agent and wrecked her hair. It wasn't even brown like she wanted. It was red and so patchy and now it's so damaged. And what's worse...I called them to get a refund. I spoke to my hairdresser who is evidently the manager. Her name is Jenine. She was so rude to me on the phone. Right when she got on the phone, she said "what's going on here?" And I asked nicely if it's possible for me to get refund. She says "no" rudely. It was just so hard for her to admit how bad of a hairdresser she was and how terrible the salon was...she couldn't admit that they made a mistake with our hair. I even told her about the bleach on my sister's ears and if I should come in to show her how red and bumpy they are just to prove the point. She kept showing me attitude and denying a refund, finally she straight up hung up on me. RUDE PEOPLE, TERRIBLE STYLISTS! Get rid of this place ASAP. I hope they go out of business BEWARE. They have always courteous, friendly and very helpful when it came to customer service. i have to say that I truly enjoy Bre when I am there, She is easy going, very helpful when it comes to my hair diasters that I have made on my own, She is very easy to talk too and always willing to listen to what you want and YES! SHE DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB ON MY HAIR EVERYTIME. I have had other people do my hair there and they have always did it to my satisfaction, NEVER EVER have I walked out of there with a frown on my face after seeing the end result of my hair.!!! I was looking to get my hair trimmed and my old friend had recently gotten a job at Shear Express and recommended it to me so I drove a little further to get there. I had a terrible experience it took hours the whole experience because she eat inbetween my cut and blow dry. my cut was not what I wanted and syle which was really only a blow dry that left my hair frizzy and unmanageable The hair cut was the worst I have ever gotten before my layers did not sit and she took off near 4 inches when I asked for a trim.
