She know how to manage my thick, fine hair, and always cut it perfectly. The other girls, Haley and Amanda are also good. Haley was actually the first one to cut my hair there :) The atmosphere is great as well, they always something good playing and the talk is always personable. I honestly miss it. In fact, I went to the Hair Cuttery today for a balayage (trying to go back to blonde from when Dena dyed my hair a beautiful brown for my wedding) and an undercut at the nape. They did a horrible job and I'm very seriously considering making an appointment with Shear Success because I know that they can fix my hair.

I have curly hair and even though I'm 21 years old, I still occasionally cry after getting my hair cut because a lot of stylist don't know how to properly work with curly hair. She told me some tips and tricks on how to keep my hair healthy. She didn't push any products on me like a lot of hair salons do. I asked her if she had any suggestions and she was fully knowledgeable. I am from the D.C. area where just getting your hair cut is around $60. I vacation here on the weekends and am now a loyal customer to The Hair Cottage. I got my hair cut and deep conditioned all for $35! I highly reccomend :)

I only knew that I couldn't style my hair every day, but didn't want to cut my hair. Oh, and I was tired of it looking funky. After spending time talking with me, we decided on a perm, but I definitely didn't want a super curly one. I wanted loose curls - more towards a wave. Rebecca scoured the salon and managed to find the right size rods from other stylists to make sure I got what I needed. After she'd worked me into her day, I really appreciated the time she spent making sure I was satisfied. I absolutely recommend this salon - which is now Pure Art Salon Studios - and especially Rebecca.

Very welcoming, love the plants, and I felt like I was a regular immediately! I saw Becca, who was not only super nice, but made sure I was comfortable&asked me many questions on my hair history and type, what I wanted exactly (and what I did NOT want, which is just as important haha). I love the way she cut my hair !! I have never colored my hair before, so Becca gave me a detailed rundown on everything which was very helpful. FYI, everyone here loves to talk to you, which I really appreciated as I love talking lol. Crystal has talked me through different ideas depending on what I'm feeling and has shaped my hair for both short and long cuts, resulting in manageable hair that works with my waves/curls! And importantly, it doesn't turn into the dreaded triangular poof... I also appreciate that she takes into account what your typical regimen is when cutting your hair (I'm very minimalist aka don't typically style my hair with tools and like to either air dry or throw my hair into a bun); she has given me low maintenance tips on how to manage it that I continue to use. Definitely recommend coming here if you have wavy/curly hair! Note: The front door is a bit hidden between two larger shops so look for the yellow honeycomb sign on the door and go up the stairs and into the left door. They also provide parking validation which is great and you can book appointments online!
