This store is like all the others, same layout and products (the German Christmas goodies are now in stock), though it is a bigger floor plan. They just spaced the aisles a little further apart so more room to maneuver buggies. All was going nicely until we started to check out. The cashier was flinging our products into the buggy! I thought two glass bottles were going to crack, not to mention biscuits and crackers turning to dust in their bags. I told her I was not happy with her method and she said they do it that way all the time, everything would be fine. Her supervisor was doing the same thing at the adjacent register. They might do that in the Derry store, but never have we experienced such callous disregard for a customer's purchases in the Plaistow store. They seem to forget where their wages are coming from. We were told if anything was damaged, we could bring it back, no problem. So we should open every bag that didn't have clear packaging to see what might be broken? We checked things as best we could as we loaded them into the car (didn't bag in store, just left). Chocolate marzipan bars at least did have clear wrap and one was broken in half. My husband took it to the greeter as he couldn't be bothered going back through the maze, explained the situation to her and said gift it to the manager as an example of how nothing gets damaged. He intends to contact head office. This appears to be a customer service and training issue. Won't be going back to this location.

This store has a similar atmosphere and layout as the Manchester (Gold St) and Hooksett locations with concrete floors (warehouse-like), food market area to the left, apparel/jewelry/housewares/furnishings in the middle, photo lab/books & magazines/electronics/office supplies in the back, outdoor merch/automotive in the back right, toys section/garden center on the right side of the store and a Subway in the front of the store. Similar to Manchester (Gold St), the pharmacy/health & beauty things/cosmetics sections at this store are located in the front right side of the store. The pharmacy in the Hooksett and Concord stores are located across from the food market section near the center of the store. I've bought many items from the Derry Wal-Mart Supercenter including big picture frames, magazines, fresh produce, salads, Lawry's seasoned pepper, cold drinks (beer & wine), personal hygiene items, OTC meds, toys, wipers, spray paint, calculators, movies, blank media, shoe laces, jogging shorts, and many other things. This Wal-Mart can get very busy at times and the checkout lines may get long including the self-checkout lanes. They will usually page all available associates to the registers when it gets this way.

When I first started coming here, it had growing pains, particularly with staff recruitment and attitude. The place is now superb. Amazing variety of items, superb quality of cheeses and meats, both foreign and domestic. Their new checkout systems are time saving and then there is always an attendant nearby. Staff is friendly and always busy doing something. At the cheese department, they were absolutely knowledgeable about the types, origins, and their recommendations were spot on. Good training of the staff... obviously. My only recommendation is on the hot food bar. After 1:30, it tends to get picked over and a refreshment of the items is in order. He tells me that he doesn't know how they got that price, and maybe I should go on Goodrx and find a pharmacy that will have a better price. . . . . This whole experience was a complete letdown.

Like I said ok for a quick pick up for something but if you are interested in saving money while shopping over long term Market Basket has the better prices by far.
