My family and I were warmly greeted into Brasserie Bois Blanc by Martin, one of the owners and brewmasters- I knew things were starting off well from the get-go. After explaining the tasting flights to us and welcoming us, Martin met with another patron and sat down at one of the tasting room tables with a "Magic: The Gathering" deck and began to hang out in his own brewery. So rad. I had the IPA flight and was particularly enchanted with the common ale. The rest of my family was really into the imperial stout (tastes like a 9% cold brew!). A lot of the other patrons (mostly fellas of a wide range of ages) were also playing games at their tables, while of course enjoying pints of microbrew. It all makes me wish I lived closer- I wanna hang out here!

The bar area can be crowded, but it's manageable... and the bartenders are fantastic! As for food, I HIGHLY recommend the wings! I asked for sauce on the side during my last visit, but they are good either way. Other highlights include the ribs (a must) and the sausage platter! Everything is tasty, and portions of plentiful. There are no pool tables just slot machines and a TON of huge TVs EVERYWHERE making it a decent sports bar. They're nice, polite but homey and friendly. The Bartender Alex is my new Bff. Set-up: 3/5 Pretty crappy to be honest. Still looks like a bingo bar and no pool tables. Only 1 bar available but the place is relatively small. Gave it extra points for the back parking. Food: 3.5/5, decent for the price. Nothing to die for but it's good food. The staff makes up for anything though. The manager is ultra-super-friendly, the bartender and waitresses are GENUINELY friendly, none of that "Fake Smile for a tip" stuff. Free WiFi (just ask for the password, it doesn't change), you can bring food from Dominos/Couche-tard/Tim Horton's. Be sure to ask the manager first if you're going to bring in Pizza since they do their own pizza). I don't think he'll truly mind due to his friendliness but I'd consider it proper conduct. We started with oysters from PEI and New Brunswick. Loved that they let you choose the units so we only ordered 4 (2 each). We also had as appetizer their foie gras parfait and tomatoes from our garden. Both we wonderful choices. The tomatoes were perfect for the season with a beautiful balance of tomatoes, stracciatella and focaccia. Foie is a classic and loved the grilled bread and pickled vegetables to accompany it. Our entrees were the lamb rump, braised shoulder and butcher cut steak and frites which was the hangar steak. The lamb was delicious and very hearty in a good way.
