The food is very good. The service is horrible. My son and I went in and placed an order of 4 Mara Shawarma wraps to go. They gave us a buzzer for when our order would be ready. I went to the Walgreens next door to purchase something while my son wait. When I came back 10 minutes later, he was still waiting. He started getting a little upset because people who came in after us were leaving with their orders while we were not called yet. My son went to ask for our order. The girl on the register had AirPods on and ignored my son. I had noticed that there were 4 wraps on the shelf behind her sitting there since I came back from Walgreens. Finally I got up and it turns out that those were our wraps. The girl refused to give us the food we paid for that was now cold until she yanked the buzzer out of my hand. I had to ask her if she thought I was going to steal it. I complained that our wraps were cold and had been sitting there. She ignored me and whatever was playing on her AirPods was more important. While this was going on, there were other people in the kitchen area but they did not pay attention to what was happening. When I got home and started eating, it turns out that the tahini and yogurt condiments were spoiled. So not only was my sandwich cold, but the condiments were spoiled. Luckily my wife had opened one of them and happened to smell it before we were going to spread the sauces over our sandwiches. Go to town for meetings and wanted to grab something to eat from the trip. Food got here fast to my hotel from a delivery service in maybe 20 minutes. The food was cold and looked/tasted like they gave me the chicken that had been sitting somewhere. I knew as soon as I started eating that food was old and just not good so I stopped after a few bites. This restaurant recently opened here in Doral as advised by a co-worker. I ordered the Mixed Shawarma with chicken and beef. It included lettuce, tomatoes, onions, garlic sauce and tahini. I finally made it to this place. I love anything mediterranean food and the food here was good. I kept it simple and got a falafel sandwich. The place itself is small though. Thankfully, there weren't too many people the day I went so it was okay to sit inside. The staff was very courteous. They brought the food out to my table and gave me a variety of sauces to go with my food. It's located in a complex and should be okay to spot from traffic. Google maps doesn't really show the location correctly but this is located in the complex on the opposite side of publix on 41st street. The first thing (and maybe the only good thing) is these shawarmas are BIG and have lots of content inside. For many years I have eaten many shawarmas in my life, and I can say without a doubt, that is the worst I have ever had. First of all, the beef / chicken of the shawarma should be marinated thin slices, slowly grilled ,shaved from the coned shaped beef or chicken spit (big skewer.) This "shawarma" had big beef cut or chunks that tasted terrible, the chicken the same and was terribly over seasoned. Not the deliciously seasoned shaved beef you get at real Lebanese or Arab style food joints. There is NO Levantine / Mediterranean flavor on these shawarmas. It's incredible they call themselves the Shawarma Specialists! No further from the truth. I hope the owners read all the bad reviews and take it as a wake up call, and take it SERIOUSLY! If they don't fix this food and don't do things right with true Levantine style, ingredients and flavor from good original recipes, and keep giving (deceiving?) people with this bad tasting stuff, their business won't have much future, although there's always new people like me that fall in the trap. I don't mean no ill for this business, but when you're paying with your hard earned money people deserve good food and service. Note: Apart from the subpar taste, one of our two shawarmas was not the "Bomba", the one which should have falafel, it didn't, although I paid for it. The other thing is the pita bread totally crumbled in my hand, and had to finish it with a fork. And the sauces they give you are almost tasteless. Never buying again from them. read more
