Pepitolandia was suggested to me by a friend from Venezuela. I told him I'd never had a proper arepa, and he responded, "Arepas another day. Meet me at Pepitolandia". I guess he took that as an opportunity to introduce me to Venezuelan food that maybe isn't as popular to non-Venezualans. I'd never heard of a "pepito" or "guasacaca" sauce or a lot of things on the menu. But, with a fun name like "Pepitolandia", I was game. I had the Full Parilla & it was glorious!! The portion was pretty large for the price. It was freshly cooked. And, it was similar to something I'd throw together myself using left overs from a bbq or grill party. I can see why this place is open late - this is perfect late night food. The Full Parilla brings chicken & steak mixed, an egg, avocado slices, & cheese. I added a portion of chorizo (not like Spanish chorizo, though - more like sausage, but still good). No frills - just food. The taste was good, about what you'd expect. I don't know enough about Venezuelan cuisine to classify this as street food, comfort food, or something along those lines. But the strength is definitely in the portion & the fact that it's freshly cooked. The place is clean. Service was helpful (made sure to clarify what the meal included, that the chorizo would be an extra charge, listed all the drink options, etc.) Definitely recommend for you hungry Yelpers. I read on the Yelp reviews that there can be a long wait. We went on a Monday at 1pm, & there was little to no wait time. I'm gonna let my caloric expenditure catch up with my consumption at Pepitolandia, then I'm headed back! read more

I recently visited Pepitolandia Doral and ordered a hot dog. While the food tasted good, I was shocked to pay $15 for a single hot dog. In my opinion, that price is simply excessive. Experiences like this are one of the reasons many people hesitate to visit Venezuelan restaurants. The food may be good, but when prices are this high for such a basic item, it's hard to justify coming back. Pepitolandia is located in a plaza and is open until late so it's convenient if you want a late meal. This review is based off a 2:00 am experience on a Sunday. Once you order the food they'll give you a buzzer with a number that notifies you when your food is ready so you can pick it up at the counter. Quality The food takes a while, but in the mixed maicito I ordered the cheese was melted the corn and meat were hot and the chips were crispy. So it was put together on the spot if not the chips would've been soggy and the cheese hard. The maicito tasted really good I ordered it without the pineapple sauce it comes with and added more pink sauce at the table which is super yum. I would go back to get more maicito. My friend ordered pulled pork sandwich no tomato or onion and she stated it was good as well. Quantity One meal is enough for one person. If you share you'll most likely stay hungry because the portions aren't big enough to share but they're not small enough either. The pulled pork sandwiches are 12 inches so that kind of gives you an idea as to how much it is. Value The prices aren't out of this world or ridiculous. It depends on what you're getting and average price for meals seem to be 8-13$. But keep in mind that's only the meal and before taxes. Sauces are free. Ambiance/Crowd The crowd was young adults at this time and groups of friends eating. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the place seemed clean at the time. There's also a bar/table at the end that has all the different sauces, napkins and so forth and if you sit on the high top table by the wall they have the sauces aligned again the wall so you won't have to get up. Service The cashier was super kind. We only interacted with the workers when ordering. She took our order correctly and we sat down after. No complaints. Parking Parking is free. It is in a plaza shared with other stores/restaurants so easy parking varies depending on the time. read more

As soon as you get to the cash register the cashier asks if you've been there before and proceeds to explain all the food options which I liked. First time here and it was a nice experience. We told the girl at the register we had no idea what to get and she made the recommendation. My husband and I had two #11's Pepito Bistro (Mix) it was delicious. We had it with 1/2 chicken & 1/2 meat. The bread alone was delicious. We also had two Parchitas which is passion fruit juice, very refreshing. The place is nice, cleaned and organized. They have a sauce bar. Make sure to try them. Definitely Try Ajo and Rosada sauce. Our faves. It's open late here (5am I think) so expect a late night crowd. It seems like the spot to hang out with friends and family. Good music as well. Very popular spot. I went in here today and walked up to the counter and said, "a Traditional Pepito please!", and it was a deer in headlights from the young girl working behind the counter. Oh brother, why can't some of these places hire people who understand basic English?...especially the names of items that are on their own menu! At any rate, once the ordering challenge was taken care of we waited about 10 minutes for them to prepare our steak sandwich (without ketchup). It tasted pretty good, though the steak was a bit dry. Thankfully they have more than 8 different sauces at the back of the place for you to choose from and put on your sandwich. My favorites being the pink sauce (tastes like thousand island), garlic (heavy long lasting taste), and pineapple (super sweet). It was my first time coming to this establishment and the cashier was not friendly at all. I told her this was my first time and she just looked at me with this dumbfounded face and stayed quiet. Not sure if there was a language barrier but definitely there was nothing recommended. I saw a family of 6 get up from their table and both cashiers were chitchatting. In Doral, the quick and casual Venezuelan food stops are located at almost every corner. This place is however one of the best in the area in my opinion. Where else can you get a crunchy and hefty Reina Pepiada in the wee hours of the night? Their rendition on guacamole is called guasacaca which isn't the most beautiful name but the flavor surely is. Of course, get that extra side of fresh cheese on top of your arepa for the surcharge because I can assure you it's worth it. Before coming here, I did not know that a Pepito was a Venezuelan sandwich, so when this place was suggested as a place to eat dinner, I did not really want to go. The name sounded a little odd to me ("why Pepito?" I thought to myself) but to be completely honest, I was too hangry to put up a fight. I am glad that I decided to give it a chance and for once, not voice my hangry opinion. This is now one of my new favorite spots. Their Pepitos are amazing. I ordered the Bazzocci but it was so filling I had to split it with my boyfriend. I am glad that I did because that gave me just enough room to fit in some of their yummy fries. I got my Bazzocci with mixed meat. At first, I was unsure how that would taste or if mixing so many types of meats would taste a little gross, but it was delicious! It was topped with blue cheese (which I substituted for mozzarella), jalapeños, peas, and bacon, and of course... All the meats! I got some garlic sauce on the side, which was off the chain! Seriously, I drenched that thing in garlic sauce and salsa rosa (pink sauce), which only added to the awesome pop of flavor. I also loved the decor. Walking in, I felt as if I had stepped into a sandwich shop from the future, with its stainless steel ordering tables and menus projected on the large screens, not to mention their colorful and lit up logo. The only thing I can say is, it works. The decor, the ambiance, the food. It all fits together in a way that gives you a great experience. If you want to eat the most DELICIOUS pepitos in Miami, this is the place to go. The corn tequeños were so good I don't even have words to describe them. If you're not the type of person that eats a lot, you can have the mini pepitos, they're like half of the regular ones. They have a good variety of sauces, my favorites are pineapple and garlic. I ended up at this place late Saturday night as I had skipped dinner and got hungry later on in the night, about 10:30pm. I was happy that this place was open and found out they are open a lot later, until 5am. Place looks good on the inside and there are plenty of sauce options at each table or in the back to-go. Two televisions showing sports and even some outside seating if you like eating outside. I ended up getting the parilla bazzocci style with chicken, small size, and fries. Put in the order and waited, and felt that it took longer than usual to cook up some chicken and fries. Once the food was ready, I totally forgot about the wait and loved the portion size and taste of the chicken. Added some garlic and pink sauce and I was fully satisfied by my meal. Mmmmm the Colombian "maicitos" are so good! The "pepito" is the Venezuelan version of a steak sandwich but taken into a whole new level of awesomeness. You can create your own, or go with the menu, you can choose beef or chicken or both. The portions are big enough to feel full and satisfied. Typically one person will spend around 10$ in total. The place is also very nice and open until late. They have a sauce bar that's so good! from the guacamole to the pineapple sauce, the variety of extra flavors you can add to your choice of meal is heavenly. Today I went to buy burgers for my boys and a Caesar Salad for me. First impressions are what bring customers back, your cashier did not greet. Told her if she was aware that their store tel number is not correct on google search and her response with an attitude is that if I wanted to order I needed to download their app. Fine, when I get my order, come home my salad the romaine lettuce was at least a week and a half old and gooey it was disgusting.
