When you land in Hammer/ Hamilton at midnight! There's literally no food open. Not even Tim Horton…read more Usually coming home to visit means I've never had to eat out once since Mama would be cooking all things Italian for days.. but this trip was different. That too after 2 years of not seeing my family. In short, I needed food! And this place I found thanks to DoorDash. Yelp isn't popular here and nobody uses it/ add or update it. I ordered while getting a car in airport nervously! I mean they could be closed. No idea where this was etc. Drove up to a popping spot! All men, disco lights and hookahs. I never look so out of place walking in. Food took longer than it said! I waited in my car. But surprisingly, food was delicious!! I ate the salad, hummus before I ate rice and kabob. Like finished it. Refreshingly good 12:30 am meal!! Rice was a little too Al dente. Kabob was good. Over ordered and got a shawarma too which was huge. The Fatoush/ salad with pita chips was bomb.com! So good! I hate chips but this was delicious. Glad I found something based on DoorDash. Definitely a good find since not many places are open this late! Or after midnight on Sunday! $25 CAD for all this food too!

The food was awesome and definitely hit the spot! Give it a try. I ordered kababs with rose and salad. Came with pita bread as well and cost $18.

We stopped by this restaurant after an event and had a really good experience. The employees were…read morereally nice and let us dine in even though it was late and borderline past closing hours. The restaurant is really cute with amazing artwork and decor to admire. THE FOOD: Lentil soup: - The lentil soup was amazing. It was bursting with flavour and one of the best lentil soups I have had in a long time. It was both gluten and dairy free. Falafel - The falafel was the best falafel I have ever had! It was crispy and served with hummus. I really like how the falafels were heart shaped. The presentation was really nice and I would come back to enjoy these. Chicken Platter: My fiancé ordered the chicken platter and he really enjoyed it. The platter comes with salad and hummus. He found the chicken super tender and the salad was delicious. Both of us had hummus and found it robbed mediocre. Halava: - The halava was super sweet and made with pistachio. It tasted delicious and it was the perfect way to end our meal. Would We Return? Absolutely!

Upon entering Tomah I was immediately greeted by the young gentleman behind the counter. I was free to sit where I pleased. He immediately brought water and a cup of tea complimentary. The tea was amazing, full of flavor and sweet. I only ordered Syrian Shwarma and requested an additional drizzle of pomergranate syrup and an order of Muttabal and asked if that was enough and should I order more. The waiter, insisted I try the kibbeh and would bring me one. The food came out promptly, first the muttabal which I can say might be better than when my Syrian mother in law makes it! The Shwarma came out and that was amazing, it was juicy and the spices and dressings where perfect. To my surprise the waiter brought out the lentil soup, kibbeh and falafel to try. The were delectable to say the least. The ambiance during the lunchtime was quiet, however after some time Arabic music was put on, and wasn't too loud, but just right as background noise to enjoy while you eat. The cushions were a Syrian style of sitting with arm rests almost like pillows. I will be back, and I will recommend anyone to come here and get a "Taste of Syria"!

Saha - Esscence of plum

I was looking for a special night out in Hamilton (something I'd never had to do in the past) and…read moremy research took me to an Airbnb experience that was this hidden gem. I'd never experienced anything like Saha in the past (the closest thing would be Urban Acorn Catering) but what Chef Khalil does with Saha is run a pop up restaurant at his own place in Hamilton that serves up a top of the line Middle Eastern Tasting Menu that he makes and plays host along with his lovely wife. We had a 5 course tasting menu, but with Chef Khalil being so fantastic, we ended up with a total of 9 wonderful courses (10 if you count the Arabic coffee to finish). Left feeling very full and just blown away at this delicious and wonderfully intimate experience. I won't go in to very detailed descriptions of the courses, but in all honesty every single one was a highlight, it was very difficult to pick a favourite, for me it was probably the Halibut, with Arabian tapenade that also had crispy chicken skin, I don't think I've ever had a fish dish topped with chicken and it was amazing! The feast for the eyes was definitely his dessert, a pomegranate mouse surrounded by cardamom meringues! Those 2 dishes looked amazing but tasted even better!! Red meat is my least favourite thing to eat, so I appreciated the rib of lamb not being massive, and appreciated it even more that it was a medium rare delight! What really made this evening special was the ambiance that Chef Khalil and his wife sets in their living room, a small intimate space perfect for a romantic night with a nice tall table candle and Arabic music to go with it. Throughout the evening chef would keep checking on us to make sure everything was going great, and talk about the dish we were about to have. He makes everything in house, which really blew me away, considering it was just for 2 of us and he makes such a large variety of dishes! It is BYOW, and I'm glad I messaged him beforehand to ask for his recommendation for what type of wine to bring along, since even my clumsy selection of wine worked out great thanks to his suggestion. While I found Saha through Airbnb I would recommend people just go to it via his regular website to get more info and make reservations too (cheaper than Airbnb).Chef Khalil hopes to open Saha as an intimate restaurant in Toronto next year, and I don't think there is anyone else doing a middle eastern tasting menu, but even compared to the tasting menus of O&B and the momofuku's in the world, Saha truly holds up, and I can't recommend this pop up version enough, especially for the price of close to $100/person (or less if you opt for fewer courses) it's truly a steal! I wish him and his wife the best moving forward!

They had their Grand Opening back in late December and has been fully operational ever since. I really love the restaurant decorations as it gives away home vibes. The owner is very nice and deeply cares about providing great customer experience. We tried both "Beef&Lamb" and "Chicken" shawarma and they were both fresh and tasty. I am a big fan of Kebab (specially on rice) and always make sure to order one. So I tried "Kebab of Rice" and really enjoyed its taste and quality. Parking can be tricky, as there's limited parking spots available in front of the restaurant. But there are extra parking spaces available in the parking lot on the other side of the street.

The restaurant is fairly large, lots of seating to accommodate a busy rush. I tried the Hot and Cheesy queen wrap which is a shawarma wrapped in hot Cheetos. It was pretty decent. I have heard great things about this place but I think I started off trying the wrong item. I had my heart set on trying this particular wrap but they had other menu options that looked much more appealing. I will be going back.
