Wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful ambience, lovely neighborhood…read more Seriously, the food is to die for. You have to try this place.. Kurdish and Turkish. One of the appetizers was this mix of yogurt and carrots and I don't know what but it was incredible.

I was checking out friends' reviews on Yelp, and came across a review of Chef Agir Restaurant Bar…read more My friend gave a glowing review and I zoomed in on a couple of pictures. On a picture of the menu, I saw that there were quite a few items that were vegan. The description of the food sounded delicious! I instantly wanted to check this Turkish restaurant out! I also immediately thought of friends that lived in the neighborhood! I messaged my friends telling them I wanted to try this place out. Now, most of my friends have busy schedules, so it takes quite a while to coordinate. As luck would have it, 3 of us were available this very day! We arranged to meet at 1:15ish. While waiting for my friends, I got some complimentary Turkish tea, it was quite good. Then I put in an order for the appetizer sampler plate. The order arrived just as my friends did. They actually walked to the restaurant. The appetizer sampler consisted of Ezme, Tarator, Muhammara and Eggplant salad. Three of the four items were vegan the Tarator contained yogurt. My favorite was the Muhammara. My friends enjoyed the shared appetizer. It came with pita bread, and when the basket was emptied, we were asked if we wanted more. For my entree, I ordered the vegan Tantuni wrap with oyster mushrooms. The flavor was outstanding! My friends were both loving what they ordered. A friend also got the turnip juice. Said it was an interesting flavor, was not expecting that. The ambiance was casual but inviting. The service was quick and friendly. Food was delicious! I definitely plan on coming back again!

I do recommend a reservation just to secure your spot. They've got beautiful interior decor and a very nice patio with windows that connect both dining areas. Cameron was our waiter and he was great. Explained that the concept at Tusk is shareable plates. We love this because we get to try a but of everything! We had the hummus, beets, salad, potatoes, carrots and chicken. Every plate was delicious and beautifully plated. While the food was great, the drinks were SENSATIONAL!! Likely some of the best cocktails I've had in pdx. Not only did they taste amazing, they're stunning to look at. Highly recommend the "Your boyfriend is gay" drink. Tusk should absolutely be on your list to visit / experience. Mediterranean-inspired, fresh, and leaves you feeling full without feeling heavy. I'm still not over the fact that they got rid of brunch. The shakshuka was so so good! Bring it back, please ;) I've had dinner here as well but brunch was so memorable. They have a covered outside patio as well, but we sat inside. Great service, and every time I come in, I feel genuinely welcomed by the staff.

The foul moudamas (a fava-bean dish, spelled differently at other restaurants that offer it) is soupy and terrific. Ask for the house green hot sauce if you want to spice things up! The staff is large and friendly and all seem to be having a good time. The owner stopped us to say hello as we left. Homey place, great for vegetarians (although there are plenty of meat dishes). The desserts look good but we didn't try them.

We chose Hoda's for one of our wedding events as they are a full service caterer who can appeal to many people. They are also able to outsource many Indian/Pakistani items. Our tasting went well and we decided to book with them. Pros: -Food is Good -Full Service Cons: -Pricing Fluctuates completely on guest count. We were quoted $19k for a 250 person event and then our guest count went down and somehow they still ended up at $19k. Eventually they came down after discussions but clearly they had marked that weekend for $19k and that's what they were going to get until we spoke with them. -Slow -We did not receive a final quote until a week and a half before the date. We felt backed into a corner especially with their "updated" pricing. - They placed little advertising signage all over the tables! Tables with $50 to $100 center pieces. It was tackless and rude to not even ask for permission. It is in all our photos and insanely distasteful. If you plan to book with them, be prepared for long spans of time between emails after you have booked them, costs going up (quote under what you actually might have guest), and ensure that they are aware before that no signage of any kind is allowed. They did not disclose this beforehand that they would do this and we were caught totally by surprise. Buyer beware. I'm disappointed and saddened by our experience and hope other bridal parties can avoid this same experience.
