I got the batters favorite and it tasted like noodles in water. It was bland from start to finish. Even adding the Chili oil did not help. The meet was unseasoned, the broth was unseasoned, the drinks were not good. I don't know if it was just an off night or the place has gone down hill. It use to be vibrant and a place you could hang with friends and chill. Now, it was empty and lifeless and this is on a Friday night. Our friends got a mixture of things and one of my friends got the coconut curry ramen with extra chicken and didn't even bother eating the chicken and said the Ramen itself was not worth it. I'm not a fan of trashing restaurants, I truly like to find the beauty somewhere but this place gave my wife food poisoning. Immediately a couple hours later after eating from there, we left around 10pm, she started to violently vomit at midnight and it lasted for a long period. How do we know it was this place.... Her vomit was straight Ramen. So, I say this to say.. eat here at your own risk. Batters Favorite: 0/10.. Just taste like water with Noodles Mango Tango: 0/10... Tasted like mango with no tango.

Street parking was a challenge as others seemed to have the same idea but once I parked across the street everything from there was up. It's pretty spacious with a nice size patio area; it was empty, so I opted to sit at the bar - they have happy hour specials all day every day. I settled for a tequila lemon drop, edamame and the Strike Out ramen with fried chicken. The chicken was seasoned but I felt like I had mostly fat which added a chewy texture so I didnt eat all of it. The ramen itself was good, had a nice spice to it and the lemon drop was strong. The edamame was soft, like they used thawed frozen peas and barely any salt. Overall - this visit satisfied the craving of wanting ramen. I would give it another try especially since it's close by and the all day happy hour is a plus

It had been a minute since I have been to turps. On a beautiful bar hopping night, I made it my…read morebusiness to add turps to the line up. We strolled through mount vernon and sat at the booth closest to the door. In true bar hopping fashion my friend and I put in or drink orders and decided on food. Of course I got a few whiskeys and a few green tea drinks. I must say they really missed the mark for the green tea drinks but lucky for them, this was stop number four , so I was already 2 sheets to the wind. Service: our server got all our food correct and brought all our drinks promptly. Food: I am a huge fan of the lobster Mac and cheese. I can't tell you what part of the lobster it is, all I know is that it's a healthy portion for 10 bucks. It's quite delicious too. My friend is now a believer as well. Their pizza Is quite delicious, especially on half price pizza night. The wings aren't too shabby either. All In all it's bar food so you can't expect too much. If you're drinking, it definitely gets the job done. Cleanliness: the bathroom are always pretty filthy. If you are a bar crawler like me, I'd hold it until the next spot. If you bring your own sanitizer, you'll be fine.

Are the new owners trying to sabatoge their own restaurant? Within the past year, prices have…read moreincreased 40-80% on every item, yet food quantity and quality is at at all time low. The bar is never stocked with enough of the basic liquors or beers, let alone enough other things to make a genuine mixed drink. (Remember the Super Bowl this year when their taps were dry and barely had any canned or bottled beer prior to the day, yet didn't restock for the game?) They are so stingy they make the bartenders use actual measuring cups to pour drinks, then watch the employees on camera and reprimand them if a pour amount is the slightest bit too much. They've either fired or drastically cut back the hours of the best staff the place has had for years and have replaced them with a server who admits she prefers to work when the place is empty (and, quite frankly, doesn't even pay attention to customers who show up). The bar stools are so dilapidated I'm surprised no one has gotten seriously hurt from one breaking under them. The hours are also not consistent. Not only does the restaurant close earlier than almost anywhere in the city, the kitchen often closes a solid 45min before the advertised closing sign; which you don't find out until you walk in and realize you can't order food. Turps used to be the daily hangout for the neighborhood, with many folks eating there at least once a day, every day. Now we go only to support the one or two good bartenders when they're actually work; the food is so terrible, has gotten so expensive for what is offered, and service is so terrible, it's no longer worth going just to go and hang out and eat and drink on a regular basis. The new owners need to stop running the place into the ground; it's like they don't even know how to manage a bar and restaurant. They've taken a thriving neighborhood staple that took care of their employees and turned it into a pit. Truly a shame.

A burger in one place is much the same as a burger in any other? Ha!…read more The Blue & Gray Bar & Grill, right in the center of historic Gettysburg, goes one better. We'd spent an entire day touring the battlefield, it's a Saturday, and the town is full of tourists. No surprise we had a thirty minute wait for a table. But once inside and seated, it was clear to us that the B & G was no ordinary bar & grill. The burgers are themed for generals, both Federal and Confederate, who took part in the battle. Each burger is characterized by the general it's named for. The General Buford, for example, is served with bleu cheese crumbles and horseradish (he's a cavalry officer, get it?) and the Robert E. Lee features a slab of Virginia ham. I ordered the General George Meade. Meade was a Pennsylvanian, so naturally this burger comes with a pile of Philly cheesesteak. A carnivore's delight, to be sure. No complaints here. And if I'm ever back this way, I'm curious to try the General Longstreet: it's served with carmelized onions and peanut butter. That's gotta be good.

Lots of different wing choices too. Very little choices for entrées. More like an afterthought. Our waitress, bless her heart looked overwhelmed. I asked for a specific type of beer. "Oh im a girl, I dont know beers" say what? Then hands me a hand written list of beers to choose from. Also she totally forgot to put in one of the orders, for a table of 7. Yea, how do you miss a whole meal??? I asked for a medium burger, got medium rare. Along with cold fries. Who eats rare burgers??? The burger was delicious, but too rare for me (got the blue cheese one, named after some general) Overall I wouldn't recommend this place unless all you want is burgers and wings. Cause thats all they have. Oh and expect to wait in line with everyone else for a table. The place is smaller than it looks.
