After being here in middle Tennessee for just over a month it seems very difficult to get into places especially barbershops even early in the morning without a reservation. Luckily I stumbled upon this place in Murfreesboro about 25 minutes from my home. Normally I wouldn't drive this far for a barbershop but I did have myself and my son both needing cuts. Ambiance: Typical barber shop style business with some cool movie posters from all different sci-fi films including Star Wars diehard guardians of the galaxy and more adorning the walls. When we walked in it was very clean and well-kept everything in its place and they even had a couple of video game machines for kids to play on or even adults for that matter while they were waiting for a barber. Service: Both my son and I are fairly particular about our haircuts but not picky and we were well attended to by the same gentleman. There were other clients that seem to be regulars that were greeted warmly and treated properly as well. Everyone seemed very professional polite and courteous. Price: Their price was $24 for an adult cut and that's what my son paid as well being 13 which I thought was very reasonable considering every other place whether in Franklin or in Springhill or charging upwards of 30 or $35 for a standard cut which I think is over priced. I will make note that some of these overpriced barbershops some do offer a glass of beer or a soda or a whiskey in some respects but I'm just a fan of a good cut and good service so those little extras don't add the extra $10 per cut for me. Summary: If you're looking for a regular place to get your haircut from a polite courteous person in a clean shop with great prices and this is your place we are very happy and will be back on a regular basis to get our haircuts here. I have been multiple times and have been seen by multiple people who cut hair there. Each person is very good at listening to what you want done and is quick to offer helpful tips if you are unsure. Wish I would have known that you needed an appointment to come here. Brought my son in for a haircut on 9 January, after a friend recommended it to us, and it was pretty dead. One barber was just finishing up and two others were busy. There was one guy waiting so we sat down to wait. After 10 minutes of waiting someone finally acknowledged our existence and asked if we had an appointment. I said "no, sorry we don't". After a moment we were told "well we should be able to fit you in". Sat for another 20 minutes as a barber came free and an older man came in and started talking to the barber who came free, sat down in his chair, and we were promptly ignored again (can only guess he had an appointment; he spoke with the barber as if they were best friends). This place is a covid outbreak waiting to happen. Not a single mitigation policy in place; they refuse to wear masks, and bunch everyone up right next to each other breathing on each other. They tried to say they are clean cause they disinfect the tools, lol guess what that's not the problem. Nowhere to start with them but go somewhere else where they're not trying to give me the virus. I took my four year old son and myself to this location on Saturday. I had a great experience with my stylist, Elvis. He didn't bother with trying to keep the conversation awkward like so many stylists and barbers. The cost was good for me for what all was entailed (straight edge trim, cut, etc.). However, my four year old's cut is another story. Rather than just giving us the same barber to do back to back, they sent him to a different person. My son did great sitting by himself, and the lady even complimented him on how good he was and how he sat really still for her. The price for his cut was VERY high ($17.50?). He said before we left that she "hurt him." I didn't think anything of it until we got home and I noticed SEVERAL nicks and cuts all over his neck. It looks like she just hurriedly went about trimming him up. There are 6-7 marks and scratches on his neck. There are several long scabs on his neck now. I have no problem returning as a customer to Elvis. However we won't take my son back, especially at that price and for the way his neck was so cut up. read more

Not just for men! This place is awesome and they do womens cuts too. (I have a pixie cut) The staff is super friendly. You are greeted the minute you walk in. No appointment is necessary. This place gives exceptional service and I would highly recommend it over any barber shop. I have been going to the same barber shop for the last ten Plus years and have always liked it. Nexgen on highway 96 has always been a great place to go and have always had great management. Over the last few years it's been a wonder how they stay opened with their current manager. This guy belittles everyone that comes in his shop from the customers, employees, and even his wife who works there. His customer service couldn't be any worse. I will steer my business to this place where the atmosphere isn't hostile and the people are friendly. I got a cut, shave, and eyebrow wax in a little over an hour and the price was very reasonable. Stopped by today to get a haircut for my son and myself and was pleasantly surprised. The pictures give the impression that this might be some snobby hipster establishment, but that's simply not the case. You won't find old timers playing checkers or a cooler full of Nehi Grape, but you can definitely get a good haircut with the full barber shop treatment. We didn't have appointments, but they were able to bring us on back. Jared was our barber and did a fantastic job. My son gets a pretty basic 2 guard buzz cut, and any of the chain outfits that you go to will give you just that and nothing more. Jared took the time to give not just a basic cut, but did a great job edging the hairline and shaving my son's neck. He looked sharp when his haircut was done! I got a haircut and a beard trim, and it's the best I've had in a good while. Just like when I was a kid, you get the hot lather and razor to the neck, the way it's supposed to be done! Jared did a great job on the beard trim, edging it up perfectly and finishing it off with a straight razor shave. Perfect! The last place that I went to for a shave whipped out disposable razor, so this was a nice surprise and a real treat. You just can't beat a good straight razor shave. You may spend a bit more than you would with the chain hair outfits, but you get what you pay for. Considering the quality and the experience, it's still a great deal. Combine that with a cool, laid back atmosphere and you just can't pass up treating yourself to a great experience here. read more

All it takes is one bad cut! Walked in to shave barber lounge today for a haircut at to have my beard cleaned up and I will never go back to this place again. The owner of this shop is the one that cut my hair. The fade is inconsistent and uneven but you know what I can deal with it I'll just have to wear a hat until it grows out. But he completely butchered my beard. He damn near shaved my mustache off and there is nothing even about it. I've never left a barbershop more pissed off than I did today leaving Shave. The only reason this gets one start is cause I couldn't leave zero stars. How this fucking moron is the owner of a barbershop I'll never understand cause he is a terrible barber.
