This was much more fun and educational than I have come to expect from doctor visits! Also, I temporarily lost my health insurance, but the receptionist was very accommodating and gave me a special rate to ease the financial burden on me. I've been suffering for almost 40 years and just 24 hours after the injection, the pain is 90% gone. The only thing I will do different if I need to go back again is ask for general anesthesia before the procedure. I still don't know what was causing me so much pain but hopefully this nerve block will lead to answers for a permanent fix. Marcela from the front desk asked me if I had anything to eat or drink in the last four hours. I said no. I then asked if I was supposed to receive any surgery instructions because I almost did eat and drink this morning. She reacted emotionally, and insisted that I did receive surgery instructions. She then stated, "I'm cancelling your surgery." My first appointment with this office was two months ago on August 7. The front desk mailed me someone else's surgery instructions with my Name and address on it. The surgery was scheduled for the day prior to my first appointment. I called the front desk because I was concerned that I was scheduled for surgery without even having my first appointment. The front desk employees brushed it off as an accident. I think it's very unprofessional that I received somebody else's surgery instructions two months ago, but not my own surgery instructions before my own surgery. It also takes over nine days to receive a I called The front desk regarding this issue on 10/7 and was told that the PA will send it again. I asked if there was any tracking or if it was lost in the mail and was told "l don't know." The front office staff seem to be confused and need to be retrained. They lack professionalism, organization skills, proper planning, and seem to forget to issue patients basic instructions to prepare for an important surgery.

After over a…read moredecade of chronic carpal and cubital tunnel pain and many attempts to resolve it non-surgically, Dr. Stein and his team took the time to offer me a permanent solution to my pain. They did not enter upon surgery lightly and had me go for a neurological test to be sure. I ended up having surgery of both hands and elbows and am recovering well and quickly. Dr. Stein's bedside manner is excellent and he made me feel seen and my pain acknowledged. As a black woman, I have not always had the most positive experiences in health care so to have this one be so good was almost overwhelming. All of the nurses and PAs treated me with the upmost respect and care. A special shout out to Jen, Lara and Beth, all of whom cared for me as if I were their family. Thank you to Jen especially for all of her work and giving me the tools and authorizing the tests that aided in my decision to go forward with the surgery. And finally to Dr. Stein, I am forever grateful for his expertise and kindness. I am able to use my hands again, something I will never take for granted. This practice is discharge-happy…read more I came in for a pinky fracture in 2021. Went through about 6 sessions of therapy. My range of motion never returned back to normal despite the false reassurance by Dr. Stein. The therapists requested my insurance for more therapy sessions so they could try something different to see if they could get my full range of motion back. Even though my insurance approved the sessions, Jenn the PA ended up canceling my sessions being adamant saying I didn't need them. Then she unprofessionally kept arguing with me and said there's nothing else they would be willing to do to remedy the situation. I left a very frustrating voicemail for her asking why they would treat me like that. Not only did she not reply, but a week later, I received a discharge letter in the mail. Fast forward to this week, I had another injury to my hand. Knowing I have limited transportation and access to another hand clinic , I tried calling EB Hand again. I explained the discharge history to the receptionist, but she told me there was no record of me being discharged on file. So then I sent my referral to them and proceeded to book the appointment. I get three hasty call attempts maybe an hour later basically telling me they dug up files from 5 years ago saying I was discharged from their practice. I would avoid this practice like the plague. They mostly deal with Worker's Comp patients, and all they want to do is collect money from your insurance. Whether or not you experience a full recovery or they live up to their treatment promises is of absolutely NO PRIORITY to them. Beware! Zero stars for the medical staff. The one star is for Mike and Joe, the therapists, who were always great to me.
