I've been buying this olive oil for a long time and never had a problem before. I even recommended…read moreit to others. But recently, I bought a bottle, and when I used it in my cooking, the food came out tasting awful. I tasted the oil on its own and realized it had a strange, old, off taste -- something clearly wasn't right. It might've been expired or gone bad somehow, even though I had just bought it from the store. So I did what any reasonable customer would do -- I called the number listed on the bottle: Pristine Promotions Ltd. in Toronto (416‑259‑3737). What happened next was extremely disappointing. Instead of listening to my concern, the man who answered immediately got defensive, started talking over me, and insisted his product is "number one" and that they "never have problems." He wouldn't let me explain my issue. I told him I live in London, Ontario, and I asked if there was a way to send the bottle back -- maybe a shipping label or return option, since it was clearly defective. But he refused. He was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional, saying it wasn't his problem and that I'd have to drive it back to Toronto myself. When I calmly said this isn't good customer service and that I might leave a review, he mocked me and said: "Go ahead. Leave whatever review you want." This is not how a food company should treat a loyal customer who simply received a bad product and tried to handle it respectfully. Businesses that stand behind their products know how to handle issues with basic courtesy, responsibility, and respect. Sadly, this was the opposite. I won't be buying from them again, not because of the olive oil -- but because of how they chose to handle a real concern. That tells me everything I need to know.

The vibe is warm and welcoming, with beautifully arranged shelves full of fresh bread, pastries, house-made meals, and high-end pantry items. It's the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and end up leaving with a bag full of delicious finds. The space is clean and thoughtfully designed, making it a pleasure to browse. The prepared foods are perfect for a quick dinner that still feels homemade. We loved the fresh salads, soups, and marinated meats, and the desserts are hard to resist. Staff are super friendly and happy to help with recommendations. It's a little on the pricier side.

I made a return a couple of weeks ago and it's now packed with customers. There also seems to be a lot more things in stock along with their hot table. We got a slice of pizza to share from the hot table. It was very good. A few days later we enjoyed their turkey sheppard's pie. Again, another pretty tasty meal. I have the French onion soup in the fridge so we will have to have this next. The people behind 10tation Catering are also running Freebird so you can't go wrong with any of the prepared meals. I'm so with Liz B. on this one - I will never buy seafood anywhere else. The store is a pretty decent size, very, very clean and does NOT smell like fish. The servers are so polite and helpful and I noticed all the patrons were civilized; there was no pushing, shoving or yelling; everyone just politely waited their turn. They have another store in St. Lawrence Market which we've been to on numerous occasions but, being from Etobicoke and all the closures on the Gardiner, this is far more convenient. It's on Vansco, a side street that runs off North Queen but, for those of you who aren't too familiar with the area, you can catch it off the Queensway (very close to IKEA). I could see this being convenient for those of you in east Mississauga. You won't have trouble with parking as they have a private lot. I paid with debit but I'm sure they accept most major credit cards. They have frozen shrimp, scallops, lobster tails, etc. in all sizes. I also recall seeing cans of crabmeat and smoked salmon as well. As for the fresh fish, there was sea bass, grouper, catfish, swordfish, sole, tuna, etc. - lots to choose from. The tuna looked like it was sushi grade. They also had an array of fresh shell fish as well such as oysters, mussels, huge scallops and shrimp. For the pre-made food, some of the selections were stuffed sole, some awesome looking crab-stuffed calamari and I saw a stuffed salmon (very similar looking to what Costco sells). They also have specialty groceries on a separate side but I was on my lunch break so I didn't have too much time on my hands to browse. Anyway, I bought six calamari tubes with a whole bunch of tentacles for $10.25 and six large, fresh shrimp for $3.95 - great deal!
