I've used their sharpening service at Libertyville Farmer's Market for several years. The work is of high quality and reasonably priced.

We host Dave and Amanda twice a year in our 725 home community and they have developed quite a following among our residents! They are prompt, patient and despite awful winds and weather yesterday (blow you down winds!), they opened up early and stayed late to accommodate customers. They do a quality job - even carry watch batteries and will switch it out for you quickly. I highly recommend this dynamic duo! read more

They came. They sharpened. A year goes by... They came again. They sharpened again. A year goes by... They are wonderful at the farmers market or even better when they get it all done same day in your driveway. read more

Did a great job with our lawnmower blades, and he was very responsive about delivery and satisfaction

I work at a retail store in the hemming department and used Dave to sharpen our sewing shears and thread snips. Dave was punctual and figured out parking with me. Also bonus if you have 10 or more pairs he comes to you in his van! read more

Sharpening by Dave - 9 pairs of this tiny snips - Knife Sharpening Near Me

Friendly and efficient . I always try to find Dave my knives are always sharp. He's the best!

I came across Sharpening by Dave on a Saturday at Pasquesi. I didn't realize they were going to be there, so I didn't have my knives with me. Little did I know, they come to your house for no extra charge. We set up an appointment through text and it was super easy. Dave came out within the next day or so and did excellent work! Easter Sunday rolled around a few days later, and one of the knives cut through the prime rib roast like butter! Highly recommend - thank you! read more

I took about 8 pairs (large and small) of scissors to their van at the Winter Farmers Market. Mrs. Dave handled them all with friendliness and efficiency. It so fantastic to have all those scissors sharp! Definitely will use again. Thank you. Eve N read more

My first experience was at the farmers market where I brought 3 pieces to be sharpened. Later I called and Dave came to the house and I had 9 garden tools to be sharpened. Dave, did a great job and the price was great for the tools I provided. I certainly recommend his service and I will be calling upon him again. read more

Dave is "old school new school". Text him, then he comes to your home - like an old-time country doctor - and sharpens your tools in his rolling workshop van, in your driveway. Prompt, reasonably fast - without compromising quality, courteous - because he's got his act together. Dave's the kind of contractor who fills that special niche need in your life without gouging. (Ours is helping us maintain an environmental reel mower.) We're awed!!! read more

They rescued my knives and scissors, including my mom's old scissors from when I was a little girl. All items were handed back in top working performance. Great service!! They are definitely worth checking out !! read more

I've used him multiple times via the farmers market. But in the off season, because I missed my summer chance, I am unsure how to reach him. (Website seems to be not loading?) I keep going back to him because he does fast accurate work at a very reasonable price making my knives an asset for another year. read more

We have a 35+ year old set of knives that Mrs. Dave sharpened for us at a local farmers market. Both Mrs. Ralph and I agree that this is the best they have ever been. We've tried other services, but the knives are very sharp. These folks really know what they are doing, and their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended! read more

He doesn't know anything about sharpening scissors or shears. He ruined every pair he sharpened, and I've had to have them redone. One pair may need to be replaced. read more

Couldn't be more pleased. Dropped knives off at a local store, they advised service might take several days. The next day, I received a voicemail from Dave himself letting me know that the knives were ready and thanking me for my business which was the icing on the cake. Reasonably priced, too. $5 for a large chefs knife. read more

If you get more than, I think, 8 things sharpened, the guy will literally drive to your house and do it in front of your house in his van. Um, doesn't get more convenient than that. I think it was like $5-8 per piece. And they came out SHARP. Great service. read more
