There's a reason Exact Blade has such consistently good reviews. We dropped off five knives to be sharpened, including one of our Shun knives. They were ready the next day, and I used one of the lower quality knives when making dinner. It was like having a brand new knife. Customer service is excellent, and pricing can't be beat. We've decided to do the subscription, at least until we get caught up on sharpening everything that desperately needs it. Soon the dullest thing in this house will be me!

I received a call from a random number at the perfect time of the day, (from Northbrook) so I hit "accept" instead of "decline." I'm convinced Cutco reps are just that good; trained to call at just the perfect time, whatever day it is. Kat's "aura" on the other end of the line (Positive, Optimistic, Genuine) transformed a mundane chore (picking up resharpened knives) into what felt like a surprise birthday gift. I can feel she was genuinely happy for me - she probably knows what it feels like to use & own Cutco knives. When I arrived, it felt like visiting family - this time I was in a hurry so it was quickly efficient. The quality of the knives still blow my mind. Thank you Kat! Infinite Blessings.

A few weeks later I came back with my knife. They decided to send it to the factory in NYC. I didn't have to pay for the shipping if I pick it up from the store again when it is ready. I have been getting uodates via email about the progress. When it arrived at the Cutco site it was only a few days after when I received email update stating it's being sent back. I'm thrilled that this shop has the sheaths. They weren't available when I got my knives back in 2010. Love that sheaths prizes are affordable. I've been fully satisfied with my Cutco knives: 7" santoku, cheese, serated slicer and cleaver. Had them for more than 16 years. The staff here have been helpful and friendly.

I was pleased to find Frank's service was recommended and located not far from where I live. That way I wouldn't have to wait on or have the expense of mailing. His informative website further confirmed my interest as pricing was straightforward and affordable. In addition, his background and level of training (with connections to Japan) looked quite substantial. He seems to approach knife sharpening as something he finds intrinsically compelling as an art, beyond just a business. When I called regarding his services, he was very friendly and flexible schedule-wise as far as when I could drop off my four knives. It took only a day to get them done and the price was very affordable. I'm assuming it was his wife who met me at their door both times. She was agreeable to work with. In all, I highly recommend this no-nonsense service. As expected, my blades were dramatically and affordably improved and I won't need to invest in a high-end forged blade any time soon.
