I trusted them so i didn't say anything at first (thought they were cleaning) but then I realized the tool was only being focused on the edges of my teeth, so I stopped them. However the change was already done. I am still upset about it because I can't tear open a bag or chips or ketchup like before. My teeth just slide uselessly whereas before my natural little ridges along the edge of my teeth helped me to grip things. Not only were they functional but I liked their appearance. I don't know WHY they assume you want your teeth to look like chicklets; It is unacceptable to permanently change someone's body permanenlty without their consent, especially when I SPECIFICALLY ASKED for them to never do it. Also, the treatment was estimated to take a year and took so many years I actually lost count. My teeth were not crooked badly at all and they told me one year. I was there for at least 3.5 years or more and my dentist said my teeth were damaged from having braves on so long. They told me braces are better than invisalign; I've had both and I strongly disagree. Invisalign does not damage your teeth and actually in hindsight would have been faster because it's a focused treatment and doesn't depend on which technician jumps to you that day (they always switched people). Another friend had braces and her tooth chipped in the removal process.

I had requested to have my equipment removed before a big event, and that request was denied. Months later, I was given a permanent retainer after explicitly stating I did not want one. I was also being worked on by a student, and was stabbed in the mouth multiple times. I finally got my permanent retainer removed, however all the glue remained on the back of my teeth. During my 8 months with the permanent retainer, i was in the office every other week with a broken wire. Overall, the office is now under new, poor management and you should not bring your money to this business.

Stephanie mentioned a voicemail asking us to call back depending on our issue, but she never followed up or said the appointment was cancelled. This is despite us sending them emails and communicating on Zocdoc with required documentation, providing ample channels for communication. We arranged childcare for our infant to attend. Despite the effort we made, Stephanie was unapologetic and dismissive, offering no help or acknowledgment of the disruption. We were never seen by the doctor, so this review does not reflect on him. But if a clinic refuses to communicate through the platform they use and shows no courtesy to patients, they should not be on Zocdoc. Avoid this practice.

I was looking desperately for emergency care in the same day but I believe since it was already near noon all the other dentists were booked or closed for the day! I remembered that my lady had gotten her filling done here and she was very pleased so I called to see if they could do it. After some back and forth I They actually had an appointment for me 10am on 2/25/25!! I hadn't spoke to the doctor yet it was just the receptionist that booked my appointment! I got there at like 9:40 am and did all the paperwork and one of the doctors named John greeted me and escorted me to the operating room/ office . He was super polite and got everything set up and ready for the other doctor.. Doctor Wang! She explained that after her assessment I needed a new crown and it would be like my older porcelain ones it would be zirconia. (Zirconia crowns are a high-quality dental restoration option that offers excellent strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal. You know the X-rays , needles grinding of the tooth, then filling . But it wasn't a bad experience at all! it was Dr. Wang and John all the way from start to finish! John & Dr. Wang The Dynamic Duo of the Dental industry!! It was like the perfect system as they did all the dental care then used their state of the art 3d printing computer/machines to scan my mouth and teeth, to construct my new crown that matches and fits perfectly! I was there for about 2.5 hours and got it all done and looks amazing ! I could not believe John and Dr. Wang got it done so easily and rapidly! Thank you guys for your accurate and speedy work! Administrative Incompetence: I booked in December for a…read moreJanuary spot. They canceled last minute and pushed me back an entire month. Didn't offer anything sooner even though the reschedule was their fault. Then, after I picked a 9:00 AM slot provided by their own system and received multiple confirmations, a week before they called to tell me they aren't even open at that time. To make matters worse, they insinuated I picked a wrong time, rather than the fact that it was again, their scheduling error. Major Safety Violation: The scheduling is bad, but the clinical care is worse. During my last cleaning, they hadn't secured a metal component on a spray gun properly. It shot off into my mouth like a projectile. Luckily it hit hard inside my mouth. If it had gone down my throat the situation would have been life-threatening. It is clear this office has no regard for their patients' time or their physical safety. After months of being jerked around and a near-miss with a piece of metal, I'm done. Background: I'm under 30 and have gone through 4 different orthodontic treatments since I was 15 years old. I've had regular braces, Invisalign, lingual braces (behind your teeth), and my last treatment plan was Invisalign once again. My biggest issue has been compliance with retainers and in some cases, negligent orthodontists. I grew up in JC Heights and they've been there since the 90s. For some reason, I never went there as a teen or an adult. I ended up going there because my teeth shifted (ONCE AGAIN) and my niece went there with nothing but positive things to say about her experience. Quick Highlights: -Staff is friendly -Facilities are clean -They regularly have entertaining kids movies playing in the lobby (e.g. The Incredibles, Frozen, etc.) and each seat has a flat screen as well. Your inner kid will enjoy this. -Dr. Messana inspires trust and confidence. He's an easy going guy but is very competent and professional -Flexible payment plan options Prices: As far as price goes, I'd say he's not the cheapest out there - which in my experience is a positive since you do get what you pay for - BUT he's also not nearly the most expensive. I paid a reasonable price for my Invisalign treatment with him and I'm confident I got my money's worth. Although, I do recommend discussing this after consultation and checking what coverage you have available through insurance. Outcome: I'm happy to say that my teeth are straight and I don't expect them to shift. Dr. Messana recommended lingual retainers to keep my teeth from shifting for now and they seem to be working fine. Out of the 4 orthodontists I've worked with, he was the first to make this recommendation. Don't live a life of regret, check out Hudson County Ortho!
