For the last 3 years, Dr. Rosa's office has provided me the best dental care I could ask for - cleanings always went well and it always felt like they actually cared about my teeth and me as a person! Even having my teeth filled wasn't such a horrible experience. I've gotten nickle and dimed by dentists before - saying multiple fillings are necessary when they aren't, just so they can make some extra money. You won't get that here, ever. I've been working in Florida for the last 9 months and this weekend I'm officially leaving jersey city for Florida so I no longer have to fly back and forth. Believe it or not, Dr. Rosa and his team will be one of the main things I miss about leaving Jersey City. I called them this past weekend trying to see if there was any way I could get in for one last appointment - it will be at least a year until I'm back in jersey city and I don't know if I'll find as good of a dentist where I'm going!! - they called me a couple of times to follow up Monday and Tuesday but I was too busy to answer. Called them back on Tuesday (today) and they were able to make some magic happen so that I can go in on Thursday. I have always haaatteeddd going to the dentist, until I discovered Dr. Rosa. I've been going to him for a few years now, and both he and his staff always make sure you're comfortable before, during, and after any procedure. My teeth and gums are super sensitive (I'm also a punk with low pain tolerance) but none of this is an issue when I go to see Dr. Rosa. He's fast, efficient, and I never have discomfort when in the chair. Dawn may also be one of those most terrific office managers I've ever encountered - she does everything she can to accommodate you and your schedule. Everything. I've since moved out of Jersey City, but will continue to come back for Dr. Rosa and my PCP. When you find great people you don't want to let them go. read more

Who is a fan of dentists. Pretty much no one. Sorry, but it's true. Dr. Rosa and his staff will change your mind. For my first appointment, my husband had been after me to make a dentist appointment for the longest, I finally made one. Dr. Rosa's office was very accommodating about the fact that I need the last appointment of the day as I'm coming from brooklyn. As a new patient, I had X-rays done. Some people might not think this is necessary, but I think this not only is a good sign dentist, but it lets him see what he's dealing with. I was a little nervous going to my appointment because I've never had a cavity... guess what, STILL no cavities! Dawn is awesome and always does an excellent job cleaning my teeth. Dawn is also incredibly aware, for instance, she knows that the very high pitched noise from the water cleaner thing (yes, that's a technical term) bothers me, and while there is nothing she can do about it, she did mentioned how she was sorry and it was right by my ear. The fact that she even noticed speaks wonders of the staff, and how amazing they are. I also kind of love that the nakpins/bibs are purple as opposed to the boring blue most offices use. I've been back for cleanings a few times, still no cavities, and the office staff is very personable and friendly. Went to Dr Rosa based on ratings from Cigna and a friends recommendation. Totally luved him. I had a root canal refill & crown, several cavities - so basically had several sittings. His staff is friendly and accommodating.Their estimate of the portion I would owe was on the mark. Dr Rosa is amazing and makes you very comfortable. So this happened a while ago, but has bothered me since, so I am posting this... I had been to Dr. Rosa for cleaning a couple of times and it was a good experience. But then I cracked a tooth. He told me it needed to come out and a replacement be put in. I couldnt afford the whole thing, so he said he would do it for a discounted fee. I agreed. He extracted the tooth and needed to wait for a few weeks for the gum to heal. During that time a crown had popped off and he recommended a new cheaper porcelain cap, so i got that done. Later when my gum had healed and I called back, he told me that the fee was only for the extraction and I would have to pay for the replacement. I was bummed, and doubted myself thinking maybe I misunderstood when we talked in the room... but as I think about it more, Im certain of our agreement, otherwise I would not have even gotten the tooth taken out until I could figure out a solution. Anyway, this incident and also the fact that the porcelain cap started to chip at the tooth above it just didnt give me a good feeling about Dr. Rosa anymore. I felt like he was more concerned about his benefit instead of taking care of the patient. But he is good for cleanings, which seem like more standard procedures. read more

I had a Root Canal done by Dr. Rosa. I was in pain and scared out of my mind prior to arriving! Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist. She was very pleasant and made me feel welcomed. I was then escorted by the hygienist. She set me up and was very gental resulting in making me feel even more comfortable. Dr. Rosa came in, introduced himself and asked me about my current issue. He soon started to work, and was super gental, motivative, and encouraging. He informed me of all the next steps he was going to take during the process. He would constantly ask me whether I was in pain, and made sure I was comfortable. Last, it was over before I knew it. The swelling went down in about 3-4 hours. I took an Aleve and I felt wonderful the following day. Now I can eat anything I want, without being in pain! As a result, I will be going back to Dr. Rosa for any additional work needed in the future. I'm so happy my lifestyle is back to normal. Thank you very much Dr. Rosa! read more

I have an irrational fear of going to the dentist, which is why I've had the misfortune of having tons of cavities, extractions (wisdom teeth AND a molar), a root canal, and even a dental implant for a broken tooth I ignored for years. The first time I went to Dr. Rosa, I was very near tears. He was kind, easygoing, patient and professional. Plus, he's FAST without making you feel like he's rushing - he's just that good. He's had the same office manager (Dawn) for years, and she's always really efficient and friendly. These days, I still get nervous going to see him, and don't always make it in for cleanings as often as I should, but I completely relax as soon as I walk through the door. I've never felt any pain with him, and he's fluent in the language of "tensing and grunting." :) I trust him implicitly, and highly recommend him to everyone I know. read more

I was skeptical about seeing a dentist in New Jersey, since I live in Manhattan and there are tons of great dentists in the city. (They also cost a fortune.) I found Dr. Rosa for my boyfriend who lives in Jersey City a couple of years ago, and he had a great experience. So after having a root canal by an endodontist in Manhattan, I went to Dr. Rosa for the crown. It was an excellent experience --- he is knowledgable, personable, and skilled at his work. I had two visits -- one to examine my tooth and take "measurements," and the other to put it on (with some small adjustments). Both went quickly and smoothly, and there were absolutely no problems. I am now pain free, and the porcelain crown is fine. I highly recommend Dr. Rosa, and I'm glad to have a new dentist (even if I have to shlep to NJ on the PATH train to see him)! read more

My visit today was just fantastic!! Having lived outside the country and primarily going back for minor needs - this was my first time coming to a dentist here, and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY! Everyone at the dental clinic was wonderful to talk to, empathetic and GENUINELY caring!! I could not ask for more and I truly felt comfortable and that I could TRUST Dr. Rosa for everything he was saying/recommending. One told me I had too much plaque and needed to rebook another cleaning appointment on my own dime, another wanted to put me through a "special deep cleaning". Dr. Rosa is the most careful, honest doctor I have ever met. I have been seeing him regularly for the last 9 years and been very happy with his and his staff's services. He is extremely professional, very diligent in his work, has a very soft hand, tells me the status of my teeth at each semiannual check-up, has made very good dental care recommendations, and his staff has never charged my insurance more than the allowed amount (this is in contrast with the staff of every other doctor I see). Called to schedule a cleaning / whitening appointment for my wife. Person who answered insisted an X-ray was necessary and that the dentist would not perform the service on a new patient without one.
