A brilliant, warm, and humble dentist. Dr. Vakharia is a problem solver who takes a conservative…read moreapproach to your dental health. He patiently explains what needs to be done, why, and always recommends the most conservative route. For example, I recently chipped my molar when chewing. I went to another dentist for help. This dentist tried to place a filling for my chipped molar, but said it was not possible. He told me I needed to see an endodontist to perform a root canal and place a crown on my molar. I visited Dr. Vakaria's office for a second opinion. He examined me and said that since I was not experiencing any pain in the tooth, he would not recommend a root canal. He said I probably would need a crown. However, if we are lucky, he said, I might be able to get by with just a filling. So, the same day, he successfully gave me a filling in the chipped molar that a fellow dentist said was not possible. Now, Dr. Vakharia made no promises about how long the filling would hold. He said that if the filling falls out, the next step is to put in a crown. I am cautiously optimistic. In a prior visit, I had another cracked tooth. He examined it and said it probably needs a crown, but he would try a filling. If we are lucky, he said, it might hold. This prior filing has worked for two years and counting! In short, Dr. Vakharia has patient interests as his North Star. He underpromises and overdelivers.

Full disclosure - Dr. Vakharia is my uncle. However, he did not solicit this review. I wrote it of…read moremy own volition, and based my review solely on my dentist/patient interactions with him. Since I was a kid, I never understood why people were scared of the dentist. I've been Dr. Vakharia's patient for as long as I can remember. As a dentist, he is super knowledgeable, but able to break down dental concepts in a way that normal people can understand them. He is also very gentle during procedures, and does great job at taking x-rays, cleaning teeth and diagnosing dental issues like cavities, crooked wisdom teeth, etc. He is the type of dentist who believes that if it ain't broke, don't fix it - He will not add on unnecessary procedures and costs - he will also have a discussion with you to make sure you are informed before you agree to a procedure. He is also fluent in Spanish, Gujarati and Hindi. He removed my mom's wisdom teeth, did my dad's root canal, and even did my dad's bridge (fake teeth after two of my dad's teeth fell out). Both of my parents also felt like he did a great job. Dr. Vakharia is kind, understanding, has a sense of humor, and just an overall great dentist to interact with. That said, he will also be gently honest if an issue needs to be addressed. I find his services worth traveling 1+ hour for. I recommended him to a friend, who has also now been his patient for years (and travels 45+ minutes to get to). If you are looking for a great dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Vakharia.

This practice has completely changed. I would never go here again and I wish I had stopped going…read moremany years ago. In more recent times I experienced Dr. Low being distracted and constantly running out of the room while I was in the chair. On my last cleaning here I waited nearly 20 minutes for her to come in to check my teeth after the hygienist was done. I actually stepped out of the room and asked them to get Dr. Low to come and look because I couldn't wait any longer. Her look was extremely fast and with her naked eye. I pointed out where I thought there was an issue to her to which she said everything was "fine". That was 7 months before what came next and involved the very issue I had asked her about. I've now been suffering for 2 years due to work done by Dr. Low that should never have been needed in the first place. The test of your dentist is when you need actual work. She says she's conservative but there was a tooth she filled years ago that she was concerned about at the time, that it could be an issue again. (Which I've only recently learned that she should have sent me to an endodontist then and there.) And when I thought the tooth was an issue again a few years later, she dismissed it. An X-ray later - she still thought there was a start of something but nothing worth opening the tooth up for. Every dentist (about 5 of them now) who has seen that X-ray has asked why Dr. Low didn't do a root canal then and there. Instead, 6 weeks later I had a full blown mouth infection with puss in my gums. Dr. Low put a mini-implant in where the tooth had been without even telling me what she was planning to do. And it was done without precision, tools, or anything of the sort - it was shoved in my mouth all in one shot. It has been uncomfortable and a problem ever since. I've seen many specialists in trying to figure out how to correct the situation. Every single one of them has looked at me with horror saying they've never seen a mini-implant used to replace a single tooth and that it's like a toothpick with a bowling ball on the end. I would recommend to anyone be sure to get a full explanation of the work that they plan to do here BEFORE that work begins, don't just let them get started, and I would highly suggest getting a second opinion when this practice recommends a mini-implant if you do not have dentures. (The mini-implant was done before they started advertising full blown that they are mini-implant center.) I thought I was going to have a proper consult about what would be done and that all of the right options would be considered. That did not happen. I'm regretful that my original glowing review of this practice has likely led plenty of people here and that I sent people I personally know here. This is not the same place as it was when I wrote that first review.

I was very clear at the time of appointment. She was nasty and mean and I felt like she was a mob collector, terribly unprofessional. I see another review here stating the same. Doctor Rob however was very nice and friendly. Probably not a good idea to have Debbie at the front desk. Then she proceeded to call my boss and requested that I be removed for another exterminator. Real nasty lady as others have noted here.
