I was an exterminator for this Dentist Company charging them next to nothing for service for years. I decided to use their services one time and was looking for ONLY a consultation. I was very clear at the time of appointment. Nonetheless they put me in a chair took 2 X-rays and offered to put a couple drops of cement to adhere a bridge, I was there about 35 minutes and Debbie ambushed me with an almost $300 bill. I asked if I could see her the the next day so I could get my bearings on what just happened and at 9:01 the next day she contacted me and left a lengthy voice mail demanding payment. She was nasty and mean and I felt like she was a mob collector, terribly unprofessional. I see another review here stating the same. Doctor Rob however was very nice and friendly. Probably not a good idea to have Debbie at the front desk. Then she proceeded to call my boss and requested that I be removed for another exterminator. Been going to dr Ratner since moved to Staten Island. The staff is amazing, very nice and professions. Dr Ratnet did good job on my implants. But the finishing work I am totally unhappy with. I've asked every time when are we going to try the bar? And was told next time, next time. And only on my last appointment, when there was basically no turning back, basically post-factum, that I am not getting what I wanted which is the bar but rather fasteners which totally defeats the purpose of going through all the pain and discomfort for 6 months. I am sure if I would go back to change the fasteners, because they don't last long, I would be charged. Dr Ratner did not account for any of my wishes. I was refunded the difference in price, but much less than I was originally quoted. I was told that the bar cost $1500 but was only refunded $250. I feel totally cheated out. read more

My last visit was for 2 dental implants. I expected to have pain, swelling and bruising. To my surprise the procedure took less than one hour and I experienced very little discomfort. I didn't have any bruising or swelling. I have been a patient for over 20 years. You can not find a more kind, gentle and caring dentist. His office staff is also very friendly and caring. Great dentist but if you're looking for compassionate bedside manner this is not the place. The staff, especially Debbie, can be extremely crass and unapologetic. Her quick jump to judgment where a simple balance of mine was concerned of less than a hundred dollars left me feeling insulted and berated. I was basically told that I should find another dentist's office. I can't help feeling that the treatment I received was a direct result of my race. A year's investment in what I though was a top notch office is over. read more

I came into Dr. Ratner's office with hopes of finding a treatment plan for my migraine headaches. I had tried all different doctors from a variety of specialities and not one was able to pin point the reason I got migraines so often. It took one visit for Dr. Ratner to come to the conclusion that my jaw and bite position was what made me sick. To fix this, I wore a bite plate and the issue was resolved in a matter of weeks. I hardly ever get migraines now and I am very grateful Dr. Ratner was able to help me.
