Unlike the poor review by Julia Y this is actually very well priced because the proceeds go to these animals which are rescues. The staff is super friendly every time I have been there and they have a very good selection of animals from white tiger to spotted hyena (which I've never seen at a zoo). This isn't a traditional zoo so comparing the two is senseless. If your looking for a budget zoo this isn't your place but if your looking for a feel good place with a staff that cares about the animals and a cool place to go on family outings and cool interactions with lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Then this is the place for you especially not having to drive in Dallas traffic to get there!

Brought my kids here during spring break. Very beautiful drive out to this place. It wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be when pulling up. Everything is outside. They have a gift shop/restaurant, food truck area, play ground and of course the animals. The big cats are beautiful but the enclosures are a bit small in my opinion; they seem sad... the bears too. The place is kept well; hand washing stations are available along with hand sanitizer stations. You can feed most of the animals. They have feeding stations or you can hand feed. My kids loved the playground and the feeding of the animals of course. Something fun to bring the kids too.

We had such a lovely time at the petting zoo. They have both a good variety of animals (pigs, goats, caws, zebras, a lion, monkeys, bears, etc). You can walk around and feed the animals, or walk into the petting areas (goats). They have Two play grounds one for smaller kids, and other for bigger kids. They also have an shop inside (but it was close when we went). The place gets busy right around 11 AM on the weekends. My nephew is two and he was so happy with the place. We had such a good time that forgot to take pictures, but will do next time.

This Zoo/petting zoo is fantastic and one of the better maintained zoos that we've been to. Most of the animals are active and have large enclosures and enough room to run around, spacious, and clean. Of course a zoo is not idyllic and my husband and I don't typically support them. However, this one was unique and again, well maintained. Animals were friendly, clean and active. Our toddler daughter absolutely loved it and the two separate park play areas are great for kids!!! I would highly recommend this place and would go again in the future.

We really enjoyed our time at Sharkarosa. They have lions, bears, camels, cows, pigs, kangaroos, lemurs, goats, alpacas, an alligator, and more. The staff puts on a "show" every 20 minutes throughout the day where you can learn about the animals, watch them eat, and pepper the staff with questions. We went on a Friday in February and it was not crowded at all. Some of the shows were just us and the staff member - it felt like a private tour! Many of the animals are friendly and like to be fed. Be sure to pick up feed bags (3 bags for $10) when you enter the facility. The goats are particularly eager to eat and my kids loved entering their enclosure to feed them. Check their website for BOGO Friday deals. We went on the first Friday of the month and got 4 free child admissions with the purchase of our 4 adult admissions. There was no charge for parking and we packed a picnic lunch. We arrived at park opening (9am) and left around 1pm, which was enough time to attend most of the shows, walk the whole park, and feed all the animals twice. Every staff member is friendly, knowledgeable, and very patient in answering our never ending questions. Masks are optional because the entire park is outdoors and it's easy to socially distance. A perfect COVID-times activity for the family. Do go!

Amazing little hidden gem! The camels and cows are so cute, and fun to feed! Definitely recommend the lemur experience!

    Tons of animals to see!

Amazing experience with tons of animals, very interactive, great staff, and it's clear the animals are very happy and well taken care of. We'll definitely be back!

This alligator was once someone's pet. Would hate to have to share that tub!

This place is awesome. Can't believe I've never heard of it. Came as a recommendation from Monica at the Black Mustang Ranch just up the street. Nice selection of animals, kind of a refuge for animals saved from the selfishness of humans. They were all very kid friendly and we never felt like we were in harms way. Staff was on the ball with animal shows every 30 minutes like clockwork. The staff was well educated on the animals they presented and you could tell they loved their jobs. Facilities were clean and the animals seemed well cared for. What a wonderful surprise to find Sharkarosa!

Let's start with the good stuff, they have a decent amount of animal exhibits for their size and my favorite thing was that you could feed the animals in quite a few of the exhibits which I had a lot of fun doing. Now for the stuff that I didn't like, A good portion of the exhibits are common domesticated animals such as but not limited to cows, horses, and goats. Now don't get me wrong they do have a good portion of exotic and wild animals and they should get the credit for that but it is called a wildlife ranch which to me indicates animals of the wild Not animals I can see driving down back country roads. My final thoughts on the matter are I probably wouldn't go back myself but we did have a fun time while we were there and I would recommend at least checking it out once if you're in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to make it happen. It's only a $15 Per person admission if I remember correctly which isn't too bad and completely worth paying for a day out with the family,

Cute, fun place to visit. Especially enjoyed the petting zoo. They also had plenty of unique animals.

Loved feeding the animals, camels mouth is so soft and not drooling! The bears are a real fun part of it. I recommend it for a day trip!

It's something different to do with the family. I do wish they still did the tram tour around the park like they used to.

There was a lot of flies at the truck with Santa in it which everyone wanted to take photos in so that was a bit gross but short of that it was a very enjoyable experience. My two year old went on their little train ride which was hilarious since she wasn't expecting that and I'm not sure I was either lol. She came back white knuckled and happy so it was fine. Lots of smoke from the fire pit made it hard to really smell any of the trees. It does add a nice touch to the place though and keeps folks warm which is a plus on these cooler December days. Prices on trees were quite fair (they are precut only this and possibly next year for many they have but still worth purchasing) and the one we got was perfect though they didn't trim the bottom as I asked them to do so we had to do that at home which was not anticipated but we got it done. I look forward to coming here next year. I usually go to Calloways and I wanted to find a local smaller, less commercial place to get my trees from and this one fits the bill. Next time I will be asking that they secure our tree since 380 is a nightmare when it's not gridlock traffic and you're trying to go 50mph down a windy road lol.

PUMPKIN PATCH (2023)…read more Found this little local gem on Yelp. The reviews were older, but we were in the area so we took a gamble and drove over (2023) for the pumpkin patch. For $5 you get to park your car in the adjacent lot and gain admission to their little fair (we had cash, not sure if they accept credit or debit). There were a bunch of pumpkin displays, free hayride, kid activities, vendors selling local goods (knits, clothing, baked goods, soaps, popcorn, honey, etc.), and a haunted maze for $2 admissions within the grounds. Some of the activities require additional cost (like the pumpkin painting for the kids). They have chickens roaming around the property (they usually stay near their little chicken coop in the far back). The free hayride was fun, just a little ride around their property- nothing spectacular. The kids on our tour ride seem to enjoy it :P If you're looking to spend about 40 mins or less at a pumpkin patch, this is the place to go!

I came here because a few of my clients highly recommended Lola's Market to me because of its quality & super friendly customer service. Plus it is local & who doesn't love fresh & local things? She has clear signs before you enter the property to make sure everyone is safe. I love it maybe because I'm a big "sign" person. Haha This is NOT a Zoo, please don't chase her animals & respect her simple & basic rules for not doing so. Just like you want people to respect your own house rules & you don't want people squeezing & chasing your children (well, at least I don't). Pets are not allowed inside so they don't try to chase/fight/eat her chickens for instance. My dog would love to do that, but he didn't as he was kept in the car & enjoyed the beautiful country view from there. :) This is a very stylish country place with a lot love, time & energy spent into it. Everyone with an open mind, respectful attitude & a open heart is welcome. Even if you just want to stop by to say hello. Mona & her animals will be happy to see you. Her deco is cute, but no it is NOT for sale. Most of the cute things there was given to Mona by old friends, customers & her grandmother. We love the fact that she shares it with us & we have the opportunity to admire it. Everything has a story behind & meaning. I highly recommend her place, it is very unique & welcoming. It is too sad that people are entitled & go out of there way to try to damage a person's dream & hard work. Some people have absolutely NO idea what it takes to run a successful business. Ignore the hate & very negative things people have to say. Don't even take my word for it. Go there & check it out for yourself. You'll love it too especially if you have learned how to appreciate the value of simple things in life. Mona, I just want to say thank you very much for you being who you are & for keeping the doors open to serve us fresh & local produce. There are many people out there looking for what you have to offer & we are very grateful for your hard work. Your place is a gem & we can't recommend it enough, Linda

She showed us the stalls where the dairy cows feed, relax and stay cool, the water washout that cleans the stalls, the milking stations, and even let us practice our milking skills on a model cow. She explained that the cows are milked every 12 hours so our tour not only fell outside of their normal schedule, but they wouldn't be comfortable having strangers milk them.
