Bedrooms unit

When i started looking for a mini split AC, i explored all options from a big company to handyman with my Amazon bought unit. Ultimately, chose Sharkaire after meeting the owner. Very satisfied with the service, price and performance of these units; initially got one 1.5 installed and then another one too. Very quiet, both indoor and outdoor units (my neighbors AC makes a racket). Good cooling with very low electric usage (i did the electric consumption comparison before and after installation and usage). While i have tried it only a couple of times, the heating too seems indicate that i can stop using the central gas heater, specially since i installed solar panels. Will know during this winter.

you can see the duct tape i used on the unit.

This is my first time owning a ductless AC system so I cannot really compare it to other brands but I love this unit! I have the 12,000BTU in my master bedroom and although its only 200 square feet, I have high ceilings and I thought I could cool the master bathroom if I wished. The system is quiet (much quieter than my fans). I love the fact that its an AC, fan and Heater in one. And compared to window, wall and portable ACs, its so much more modern looking. This unit can easily cool my bedroom and bathroom in around 5 minutes. I even did a test. I turned the AC on full blast, kept the door open for around an hour and it was actually able to bring down the temperature in the adjacent room. The reason I purchased from Sharkaire is because they were only a few miles away so I could purchase directly from them and save on shipping costs. Compared to other brands sold on Amazon, Sharkaire was way cheaper. I think these units arent too popular in the US because of the hassle of installation. Sharkaire recommended an awesome installer Robert who was able to come and install everything very quickly. With these units, you really need someone who understands HVAC, electricity and has general contracting skills. Robert was all of them and his prices were reasonable. Overall I am very happy with this unit. Two slight hiccups. I noticed when I have the AC and dryer on at the same time, the fuse on other areas of the house will shut down (not a big deal, just gotta do one at a time). The power light on the interior unit will always stay on unless you unplug the unit. Since its quite close to my bed, it felt like an overpowering nightlight at night. I ended up purchasing white duct tape, making 3 layers and cutting out a rectangular shape with an Xacto knife. Now I can still see the display without it being too overbearing.

We had no idea when it was last serviced or if it had ever been serviced at all. Henry gave us a very fair and competitive price for a tune up. Upon Henry's arrival, he was friendly and professional. He opened the furnace and showed us the burner. He explained it was in great condition considering the age of the unit and it didn't need servicing; although, he did clean up around a few areas around the burner. The blower motor was slightly wobbly, and once again, he explained it was still in good shape considering its age. He proceeded to the back patio where the condenser was located. He noted the unit was very old and that particular Freon is no longer available for servicing; however, he stated the unit did not need to be replaced just yet as long as it's blowing cold. Henry indicated despite our units being way past their anticipated life expectancy, they were clean and blowing hot & cold just fine. Therefore, no servicing was recommended and he did not charge us anything. We are impressed not only by Henry's friendliness and professionalism, but also by his transparency and integrity. Many other companies would have hopped on the opportunity to upsell the service or even sway us to replace our system right away, but Henry gave us peace of mind to give us time and to save up for an inevitable replacement in the future with Therma Tech. Thank you so much, Henry! We will definitely contact you again in the future and recommend you to all our family, friends and coworkers.

Decided to call a few for a quote and connected with ThermaTech. They were very responsive and easy to set up, confirmed that they know to work around the specific model. Miguel text when he was on his way, showed up right on time and was equipped and wore shoe covers. Professional - talked me thru what he was going to do and was ant to make changes and asked me to confirm the airflow was good. Was very patient and let me check all the air vents multiple times - a very thorough job. Paid right when he left and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely call ThermaTech again and highly recommend!

Michael Calvey thoroughly explained all of the options for our house's specific HVAC needs and was very patient with me as I asked a variety of questions. In fact, he made numerous trips to our house to answer the constant flow of questions my wife and I had. Bottom line, we built a solid working relationship with Michael and this gave us the comfort we needed to move forward with our HVAC investment. Calvey Heating and Air's estimate for a new heat pump and furnace at our house was very competitive. I was amazed at how much the pricing varied from vendor to vendor. Michael and the Calvey team made the entire process seamless from start to finish. Michael recommended an electrician who did a great job with our electric panel upgrade and the permit team did a fantastic job working with the city for all of the required paperwork. When it came time for the installation, the lead installer, Servando, and his team took pride in their work for the two day install. Similar to Michael, they were patient with me and answered all my questions during the install. Following the install, the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Team promptly arrived and conducted the necessary testing. Lastly, the permit team met with the city building inspector to successfully get the city sign off on all of the work. Throughout the entire process, Calvey Heating and Air did a great job choreographing and managing all aspects of the installation. I was constantly kept informed and Michael and his team visited our house daily during the installation to ensure all was moving forward properly. Lastly, a final walk-through was conducted by Johnny from Calvey ensuring that the install was 100% perfect. Once my wife and I have had time to work with and get familiar with our new system, Michael indicated he will have his team come by our house and balance out our vents if needed and answer any additional questions we may have. Overall, my wife and I cannot be happier with our decision to have Calvey Heating and Air install our new system. Their service was great from start to finish and there were no hiccups. We highly recommend them. Thank you Michael Calvey!

Michael came out to my house and walked me through the pros and cons of a heat pump HVAC. For my home, the extra money made no sense. I really do not need central AC. We then talked about a new Carrier, high-efficency furnace. That was exactly what I needed. I also opted for the Ecobee Smart, wi-fi enabled thermostat. I am extremely happy with everything. The price was right. The installation was flawless. The post-intall QA walkghrough, by Johnny, went really well. ThenI worked with the folks that checked all the boxes post-intalleation. HERS test was easy with a pass.. Today, we passed the inspection, in under 5 minute. Every person I dealt with was amiable and professiona. The office staff always very nice. Michael Calvey was a joy to talk to. Thank you to Johnny, the project manager, and the folks from HOPSTER that facilitated the post-installation test and inspectioin. From start to finish I met with Michael on February 12th. The 16th the new furnace was intalled. February 17th Johnny did the QA walkthrough. February 18th HOPSTER did their pre-test and inspection walkthrough. The HERS test was done February 23rd. March 5th the city inspection was complete. I will continue to use Calvey for annual maintenance

From the start, the owner took the time to walk through multiple options with me, explaining the pros and cons of each. He was thorough, patient, and ultimately came up with a smart approach that worked well for the layout of the house. The installation crew was excellent. They were professional, friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They also took care to keep things tidy and picked up after themselves each day, which I really appreciated. On top of that, the pricing was competitive compared to other quotes I received. Overall, a great experience and I'm very happy with the results. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC work.

December 2025 our furnace stopped working. I found Art of Comfort on Yelp and called for a…read morediagnostic appt. I went through the automated system by phone and an appt was scheduled the coming Monday - fast. I don't like automated systems and this system was unlike the others for cable, healthcare, etc., this one actually WORKED on every single thing the first time! I usually have negative sentiment towards a company after using their poorly designed automated system, not this one - I had positive sentiment. I got the text confirmation immediately. In the coming days I received the expected and timely reminder, and "heads-up on the way." David showed up in the arrival time window professionally and wore booties over his boots inside our house. David assessed the error code, confirmed the issue, focused on safety and then gave me the bad news. First, it was going to be expensive - an induction motor replacement. Second, though it was going to be expensive, he didn't recommend I hire him. He thought I'd get better (faster, more efficient, happy) service for my brand of furnace by working with an authorized factory service company, given that it was this particular manufacturer. Apparently, if he called in for part availability, it's a job he certainly can do, that's not the issue, the company would be slow to respond to him because he's not an authorized service company for my brand - YET. He is for another brand, just not mine - YET. This would add friction to the process, to the point of not accepting as credible the assessment (we had a code, mind you) of an experienced HVAC pro. He didn't want me to go through this. It wouldn't make me happy and it's possible it would just delay - without heat in winter - the inevitable of having to go the authorized service route in the end anyway. I will say that using Yelp I found an authorized company I liked. (I called two companies, the first one was in town and a mile away and I was not impressed. The next was a couple cities over and I used them.) I was not charged for the diagnosis. THIS IS LONG TERM THINKING AND TRUE, OLD-SCHOOL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I not only recommend Art of Comfort though I did not have more than the diagnostic piece done, I have saved their number for the future and will share it with friends and neighbors. Our house has two separate furnace / AC systems. I had them installed new in 2006. Something is bound to go wrong after 19 years and I have David and Art of Comfort on speed dial. Thank you David!
