Do you wash it yourself in a self-service bay car wash? We've done them all; however, lately it's been our preference to use the self-service commercial car washwash at Splish Splash. We bring four $1 bills and use their coin machine to get quarters so we have exact change. The wash bays have a high-pressure sprayer, a foaming brush and a separate foam applicator. You can rinse, soap-up and apply wax while you watch the digital timer tick away the minutes and seconds. The timer buzzes when you start running short on time. There are other options for the sprayer services listed on the control dial should you want to invest more quarters into your cleaning experience. After the car is well rinsed, I take it out of the bay and park it under a shade tree to spend some time towel-drying it off. That also gives you an opportunity to clean your windows and apply tire dressing etc. We like to bring our own cleaning supplies and do the detail work on the spot. With the downturn in travel these days, it should be easy to keep your car cleanand with the money you saved compared to the full service car wash, you can go across the street and treat yourself to a cold beverage. I called my detail guy at 8 a.m. this morning hoping that they could come out in detail my car…read moretoday. I thought it would be a fat chance because it was so last minute. I explained to the guy that I've been wanting to have my car detailed for a while but my schedule is really crazy and I never know what I'm doing from day-to-day lately. he asked me if he could call me right back after he tried to work some things out on his schedule. He called me back within 5 minutes and said he would be over within the hour to detail my car. The guy who arrived (Adam) was prompt and nice. He had all of the equipment needed to clean my car including the water! He detailed my car from top to bottom inside and out. He also used a clay bar and cleaned all door jambs, shampooed the carpet, clean all of the seats with leather cleaner and special moisturizer, detailed around all of the vents and even fixed a spot that was on my carpet. He charges less than a big car washes that detail and he will come directly to you. I'll never go to a big car wash chain again. This experience was great and allowed me to stay home to get some chores done. I will definitely have him back again in the future. My car looked brand-new when he was done with it and it is 2 years old!
