(We'd seen it last week when she did the maiden paddle down the river on her new-to-her kayak.) I'm very glad she noticed it and suggested we try it out: it is wonderful! The vibe is laid back with a happy local riverside feel. The bar area is on the right with most of the dining tables to the left. Our server, Joseph, is aces! He suggested the fried mozzarella planks, which sounded great but, seeing as this was Lady Liberty's day we went for a classic, fried pickles with a template sauce. Joseph definitely knows the menu! For entrees she picked the fried shrimp basket and I went with the Almost Island Style Grilled Chicken sandwich. (The pineapple is what did it.) As much as I loved my sandwich, next time I'll likely try the grouper, which he had recommended.* We also tried sides of French fries and potato salad. All was quite tasty! They have their own parking lot and, despite being busy, there was ample parking. We will be back and we recommend you try it out as well! -- * I'd not tried the grouper because it seemed overpriced. After I ate I asked asked about that and received a brief but clear explanation as to why the cheap fish of my youth had become so much more expensive, Nothing like a server who knows not just his menu but the factors that affect pricing!

We asked her several questions and she knew the answers to everything. We ended up ordering an app and an entree each. She warned us that the oysters were hand shucked and might take a bit longer. No problem. We didn't mind when they came out. After 30 minutes, my husband's clam chowder finally arrived. It was delicious, but there was no reason for a cup of chowder to take 30 minutes. Chowder has to be made in advance. Thirty minutes after that, so an hour after we originally ordered, someone (the owner? another server? I don't know who.) said our food would be up soon. Our original server then came over to apologize and say that they hadn't even started our oysters, crab legs, or the Grouper platter at all. An hour later and they hadn't even started cooking?! It wasn't even that crowded. Surely shucking a dozen oysters doesn't take an hour?! We asked our server to cancel everything. We paid for the chowder, gave her a very generous tip for her trouble, and left. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was to have to leave hungry. Get it together Crab Shack! That's ridiculous.

Asked for a recommendation and was told to try the Ceviche, Feta Dip, or assortment of other flatbreads. I opted for the shrimp ceviche and mango habanero wings. I also had the summer shandy beer. My main issue was that my drink had mucus at the bottom and while I was vlogging, I noticed the floating piece and notified the bartender when she came back. And then I asked my server for the check. Instead of taking off the drink she offered a new one but I declined. I paid around $19 for everything and would prefer to see more training coming from the staff.

Open air Marina view still the best seat around, watching the boats drift by. Only letdown: last visit we had dolphins putting on a show table-side. This time, nothing. I'll be speaking to management about their apparent failure to order dolphins for our table. Unacceptable. Location: Sunset Cove, below Seafire Grill on 19 South in New Port Richey.

Sat at the bar, because we like the vibe there better. Super impressed with the bartender. Not only made great martinis, she's a certified sommelier and had great recommendations for wine pairing with food. Started off with some raw oysters. Prepared properly (separated from the bottom shell). Fresh and tasty. Next was the appetizer special, seafood mix salad on crispy potato bars. Interesting and tasty. Finally, we had the grilled octopus. Seriously some of the best I had. Nice and tender and grilled just right. Service was outstanding and attentive. Atmosphere was lively, without being noisy. Met a nice couple that go there every week for date night. It will be in our regular rotation of places to go.

We were looking forward to our first experience at Estuary, but we left extremely disappointed…read more We had an issue with my wife's meal. However, our disappointment isn't so much with the meal. It's with how their manager, Anthony, handled the situation. Instead of showing empathy, apologizing, or making us feel like valued customers, Anthony spoke to my wife in a condescending, disrespectful, argumentative and unprofessional manner. No customer should ever be talked down to or belittled. A manager sets the tone for the entire restaurant. Anthony's behavior turned our evening into an unacceptable dining experience. Because of him, and him alone, we will never come back. I hope management take this review seriously. Food can always be corrected, but the way customers are treated is what determines whether they'll ever return. Unfortunately, because of how Anthony handled this situation, we will not be back, and we will not recommend Estuary to others. I sincerely hope no future customer has to experience the same treatment.

Making reservations on open table as quick and efficient. When we arrived, our tables put together and ready for us and we were sat immediately. A decent menu with good variety and fair pricing. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. My husband had the stacked turkey club sandwich and he thought it was delicious. I had the tuna poke nachos and the tuna was very good but the wonton nacho chips were stale tasting. I don't know if they were just left out for too long or if they were over fried, but that would be my only complaint. We chose to dine outside and watch the beautiful sunset with the cool breeze, brushing our faces while we sipped on our cocktails and enjoyed lively discussion. If we were in the area again, I would likely come here at sunset

Unfortunately, our dining experience didn't quite live up to the recommendations. We ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time, but our food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and our appetizers didn't come out until the exact same time as our entrees. Since we had ordered simple appetizers like chips and queso and ceviche, it was a little disappointing that they weren't served first. When I asked about it, I was told the kitchen was backed up. Our server was pleasant, but she wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. There were a few times we had to get up and find her just to get drink refills or an update on our food. I completely understand that restaurants can have off days, and even the people I was dining with--who visit often and usually rave about this place--mentioned that this experience was out of the ordinary. As for the food, the ceviche wasn't my favorite, and my shrimp tacos were a bit over-fried. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially considering how highly the restaurant had been recommended. That said, the location and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful, and based on how much the locals seem to love it, I'm hoping this was just an off day rather than the norm.
