ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. APRN: Natalie Nieves needs to be THOUROUGHLY retrained and or removed from…read morethis practice. A truly unprofessional individual, harboring zero intellectual/procedural comprehension of the mental health industry in this country. Furthermore; Mrs. Nieves EXPLICITLY requires virtual visits, arrives late and will intentionally hide her face on camera and harbors a voracious desire to interrupt as you (the patient) attempt to explain the current situation/circumstances that led to said meeting. Continuing with the trend of unprofessionalism... I, along with many others (Verified through 3rd party reviews, available on Psycology Today) have experienced similar behavior by not only Mrs. Nieves herself, but others within the CBHA practice. Suspicions arise as well when you dig into the career of Mrs. Nieves... In the course of four years, Natalie has bounced around the state of CT to several different practices while never seeming to obtain occupational longevity. Mrs. Nieves, an individual with a self-toted "30 year experience/career in Clinical Psychiatry," informed me that "she could not help an individual she cannot 'trust'." Keep in mind that this was the INITIAL introduction appointment... Please - anyone reading this who happens to be struggling with the battles of addiction/substance abuse, this is NOT a practice where you will find the help you are looking for. According to Mrs. Nieves - she will not work with individuals who, while in therapy & actively/routinely attending meetings but not actively enrolled in either IIP/IOP. It is Mrs. Nieves' 'understanding' that an individual who is currently two and a half weeks sober is not a proper candidate for psychiatric care. Think twice before choosing this practice for your care. **This review will most definitely be deleted, as all the others are** CBHA is a malicious, money hungry orginization that could truly give a collective of zero shi*'s about your care - as long as you can provide initial payment, they will goatrope you into a merry-go-round of manipulation and deception. If you care about your health, PLEASE PLEASE look elsewhere.

I need prior authorization for a med they gave me last FRiday, and still haven't heard anything .They sent me an email telling me I was all set the prior auth went thru on Tuesday, but it didn't. When they canceled the appointments they never asked once if I was in crisis and needed to see someone right away. They just don't care!

I saw one dr who moved to this office a few years ago. She has since left and I got transferred to…read moredr okasha. There is no personal interest with him. You're just a name on a paper to him. He asks the same 6 questions every time I went there. How tall are you, how much do you weigh, how are you doing, are you in therapy, etc. I have been on the same two medication, same dosage, for almost 10 years. These two medications are the reason I'm still alive. Okasha kept upping the doses "because I wasn't doing well at all." I've been pretty consistent since I've been on them. I got worse when he upped them and when I told him that, he upped them again. He's very pro therapy. As someone who doesn't have insurance and works 8-5 every day, I can't afford therapy and honestly I don't have time to go. I've never had anything traumatic happen to me, I have a great life therapy has never worked for me. If it works for you, great. It doesn't work for me. The ladies in the office are wonderful. And if Lisa was still there I wouldn't be writing this. I'm sure the other doctors are nice but I do not recommend Dr. Okasha at all.

First, good luck getting an appointment. You have to deal with "Phebe" at the front desk who is…read moretwice as ditzy as Phoebe from Friends. She was unable to make an appointment, and then having 2 other conversations at the same time, while I was on the other end(yelling at coworkers, laughing). Then the phone went silent, she picked back up and said, "Hello," and I had to remind her I was still on the phone! That should have been my first indication that this office is not efficient. She asked me to fax her materials, which I did. She claimed she never got them. I faxed them again. At the date of the appointment--the doctor-who turned out to be an APRN, Catherine Girard, said I never sent anything and blamed me. I explained to her that she needed to discuss that with Phebe. My check in process with Phebe did not go smoothly either--she wasn't at the desk when I arrived, and then when I finally sat down, continued eating. It was extremely unprofessional. The waiting room had bugs and mold all over it. It's very run down. Catherine never came out to get me for some time. And when she finally did, she was rude to me from the start. I was in my work clothes which she did not approve of. Maybe she's never touched dirt, but she shouldn't be so judgmental of people who work for a living. She was very uppity and not at all the kind person I would expect from someone in this profession. She made me extremely uncomfortable and after 5 minutes of awkward questions, she told me she couldn't see me because I don't keep a calendar on me. It was bizarre and the entire experience was a waste of time. I came to her for help and was shocked by how cold she was. Not to mention I had waited a month for this appointment, only to get told she couldn't see me because I don't own a pocket calendar.??? I feel she judged me from the second I walked in the room because maybe she doesn't like the working class or I didn't match her pearls. But maybe this isn't the right profession for her then. Because all people need help. And Ms. Girard-please put a note on your calendar-be kind to people, be nice. Because people come to you for help. And it doesn't do any good to be so cold. Smile. Don't let your bad day become someone else's. I'm also sure CPC will have the nerve to send a bill as well, which will be disputed.
