I have had many years of physical therapy with different groups and therapists. This place is the…read morebest and Dominic, my PT is the greatest. Last year I went to a different group where I rarely had the same therapist. I was in a large room with no privacy and often left without guidance or attention. This does not happen with Dominic. Because of insurance I had not seen him for many years. It got to the point where I didn't care if I had to pay out of pocket so I returned to the group and Physical Therapist who had helped me after several surgeries. At this place you get care from the same person each time so you don't have to explain what is going on with a new person all the time. There are public and private rooms which makes the experience more comfortable. Dominic knows what he is doing. I don't feel like he is giving me a cookie cutter plan. He really listens. He has been able to help me figure out where some really awful pain was originating from and addressing it properly. He watches and is attentive for each session as opposed to other places where a therapist had more than one patient at a time and often didn't remember what you were supposed to be there for. I am so lucky to be back in his care. My pain level has significantly decreased and I am able to increase and resume activities I thought might be lost to me forever. I am also grateful that they are now taking my insurance plan. I don't worry that I may actually get injured by my physical therapy as had happened several times in the past with other places. It is so nice to trust the person you are working with. This is the first time in many years that I have hope for leading a less painful life and resuming things that broke my heart to give up. We worked on childhood experiences that lead to negative ways that I felt about myself, why I made the choices that I did and gave me the ability to forgive and love myself. I really didn't like myself at all and now I can truly say that I love myself. It's amazing. It does take time and some hard work but it's so worth it. I am so grateful for all that Joanna gave me. And although I've "graduated" from therapy, I know I'll meet with Joanna again! I'm strong now but I'm incredibly self aware and I know that if life takes a curve Joanna will be there to help me continue to live my happy life!

I had a pretty negative experience with therapists in my teens and was not eager to try again. However, I felt at ease with Joanna almost immediately. She is warm, direct and very empathetic and non-judgmental. I feel safe to explore whatever is going on with me. She very skillfully guides me to deeper places within myself, and to my own inner strength and resources. It is now very rare for me to get depressed, and if I feel anxious I use one of the many tools I've gotten from Joanna, and it doesn't last long.

I went to 3 other chiropractors that would have me come into their office every week to be adjusted for YEARS without lasting results. When insurance ran out after 5 annual sessions, I was paying out of pocket for YEARS. Dr. Lauren Zolnowsky is SO different! Her aims to FIX the person's body mechanics so you are HEALED! WHAT?! I know, right?! *shock face* Her experience is over the top extensive and she fixed my back pain in the FIRST session! My sacral (butt bone) was twisted plus out of alignment and she repositioned it. My fibula (leg bone) was OFF my ankle causing a 1/2 inch hip tilt, knee and leg pain. Dr. Z put my leg bone onto my ankle bone. This straightened out my hips and knees! Bam! Back, hip, knee and leg pain gone! WHAT?! I know, right?! *continued shock face* Then she did Low Level Laser on my head and neck which calmed my OCD, type A brain like a vacation. The next 2 appointments, I had Dr. Z adjust every joint including my collarbones and I feel 30 years younger! She broke up leg scar tissue from a skiing accident I had 30 years ago. I no longer need to see her. *blink, blink, disbelief* 3 sessions and done and I can move with ease! Hallelujah! I gladly paid without insurance! I was so thrilled that I made my husband go to Dr. Z with his SEVERE 30 year old feet and shin pain. He tried my other chiropractors, foot surgery, shoe inserts, etc. with no relief. Dr. Z adjusted his feet and broke up the stuck scar tissue that was limiting his shin and feet movement. He saw Dr. Z a few days ago and still has full relief and is walking well. How simple was that?! God honest truth! My horseback riding niece is so impressed with our results, she is making appointments for her boyfriend and herself. She has bounced off horses and has back and hip pain. Her boyfriend is a mechanic/ electrician and sleeps on the couch do to shoulder pain. I look forward to their relief stories! Happy healing!

Dr. DeMers is great and I'd give her 5-stars. She's nice, very thorough, compassionate, follows up by phone/email, and is reliable. You don't feel rushed as she spends a lot of time with you, and asks a lot of questions. I stopped going solely based on my experiences with the front desk staff. They seem very unorganized. The last straw was an unpleasant conversation with one of them. I should preface by saying that if you have a (high) deductible, be prepared for an email and phone call every single week asking for payment. These begin the very next day after your appointment! It takes a week or two to receive an Explanation of Benefits from your insurance, and according to the paperwork you sign at Thrive, you have 30 days to pay. It really started to rub me the wrong way because 1) I have a fear of doctors, so seeing them call/email so often caused unnecessary worry; and 2) I had never not paid in full by the 30 day mark. When I explained this, she initially said Dr. DeMers insists on it and she doesn't like doing it because it's uncomfortable. Then she became passive-aggressive and kept sarcastically apologizing. I never heard another word from their office or Dr. DeMers again even though I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment three months later! Here are just a few examples of the front desk's disorganization: 1. Called to schedule an initial consultation only to be called back the next day saying that they no longer offer consultations. 2. Provided my health insurance info./card at my first appointment. They asked for it again at my second appointment the following month saying they didn't have it, yet I was billed. 3. I accidentally overpaid on one of my bills. She said they'd deduct from my next appointment's bill which they didn't. I had to remind them after they invoiced me.

I left a review on their Facebook page and not sure if it got deleted or they blocked me but at my last session I had with my APRN she went about it by asking me if the ladies had reached out to me about their new southington location their sending patients to, to which I told her my therapist recommended me to a new ARPN that I will be trying, then she proceeded to ask me why I left a bad review on the practices Facebook page very rudely and unexpectedly which I find very inappropriate. Also last thing is I had messaged my APRN recently on my portal about an issue I was having to which she never once responded back to me.
