I'm making it five stars as it's the first Indian in town that actually makes quite tasty food since I abandoned Spice of India and I hope they keep it up or indeed improve taste still more.
We got king prawn puri and seekh kebab starters and each was real tasty. One chicken tikka main with pilau rice and sauce: chips are an option if rice isn't your thing hut we wouldn't get chips. We also got a peshwari nan. We got two complimentary poppadoms and tiny pot mint and onion sauces.
The food wasn't wow but in our town it's darn good. If I was comparing this takeaway food with similar dishes out of the Bengal Brasserie Lisburn Road in Belfast it would be 3 star. All in all £25 and cash only. I hope they catch on. If they want to stay busy don't rob customers and maintain curry quality.
Nearby parking is challenging.
I used to be loyal to Spice of India in town but got pig sick of nickel and dime tactics by the then owner's son which he couldn't really justify when I was buying a meal deal - if I wanted to swop a sauce it was 50p or £1 - he could never answer why. Once he charged me a £1 when the chicken dishes I was swopping were identically priced on the menu.
Or put shortly, greed. That was enough for me. Years have passed and I've never returned and won't but the food was always darn good there. I had tried Guru take out and sit in and found the food truly awful and completely rip off. read more
