We ordered seekh kebab, chicken tikka with pilau rice, a potato & cauliflower side, a korma sauce and a peshwari nan. We got two complimentary poppadoms and a yoghurt based dip also included. All our food was really tasty. The food is cooked to order so expect about a 15 minute wait from placing your order. The guy serving was friendly enough and was quite amenable to tweaking my order to suit our tastes. So it's our new go to Indian (Bangladeshi) restaurant in town. We had been going to another place in town for many years. They recently moved to Cornmarket but we just got tired of their nickel & dime attitude, we found that loyalty counted for nowt and we sure didn't enjoy our last takeaway from there a week ago and that forced us to try here.

It's a normal takeaway restaurant, which we always seem to end up going to when we're spending time in Newry because we are always on the go for a night out or some such antics. Thier dishes are all good - and I've tried a few, but always come back to their Korma dish, because it's generally my favourite from an Indian Cuisine point of view, and theirs is creamy and gorgeous and a good sized portion too. The service is quick and the food is freshly made and the staff are efficient and hardworking. A great takeaway - I will be going back there for definite.

We really enjoyed our night here and wouldn't hesitate to return. The welcome was friendly, seating comfy and it didn't take long to get a drinks order served. We were undecided about starters eventually decided on mains only. My wife opted for a chicken shashlik with rice which came with a sauce that was quite astringent, almost as if some vinegar had been added. The sauce was well flavoured but it didn't suit my wife's palate although I liked it. The rice was perfectly cooked. I ordered a butter paneer dish with a Peshwari nan. It was a very tasty main, I did enjoy the paneer and my wife enjoyed my sauce more than her own as it was sweeter. The only thing missing, that I expected to find, was green peas and only because they are always in this dish when I order it. Their absence didn't affect the dish, I was just surprised not to get them. The only disappointment was the peshwari nan as the filling was so thin we simply couldn't detect any of the flavours we expected but given the price I wouldn't drop a star. My advice is put the price up a bit and put in some more filling. Our friends enjoyed their dishes but I only recall one main - chicken biryani with the same 'sour' sauce and a garlic nan.

The staff was overly nice, each and every single one of them. They noticed we were desi ourselves and made our food "desi style", oh boy was it spicy! The chef and the customer sure likes a challenge. The menu has a lot to offer. Great spot for really well don Indian cuisine. Royal Tandoor Platter 5/5 -(chicken banjara, malai chicken tikka, seekh kebab & tandoori monkfish skewered and cooked in a clay oven), great option if you're not too hungry, you can ask for a small bowl of rice to accompany this Lamb biryani 5/5 - a lot of meat, the rice was so fragrant Goan Seafood Chowder 5/5 - hearty, flavorful, highly recommend Hot chocolate fudge cake 4/5 - can't go wrong, exactly what you expect, don't think it is made in-house though

One of the most unique dishes was the Horin-Er-Mangsho, a loin of local venison flame-grilled to medium rare and served with tamarind sauce on the side. The venison was super juicy, meaty, and flavorful, making for a delicious starter. For my main, I got the Kolkata Thali, described on the menu as "South East Indian Tapas." This metal platter came with a sampling of different vegetarian dishes including breaded paneer, aloo tikki (spiced mashed potato patty), stir-fried okra, shredded potatoes, dal (mixed lentils), chickpeas in tomato sauce, eggplant in tomato sauce, raita, rice, and plain naan. My favorite was the aloo tikki, which was nicely spiced--in general, however, most of the dishes on the thali were all toned down in spices to fit a more Anglo-Indian flavor palate. So while this wasn't the most authentic Indian food I've tried, the restaurant still made for nice trendy dining experience.
