We've had the pleasure of working with Joseph Petersen / J.W.P. Wood now for over five years…read more He has crafted for our primary residence many fine built-ins and cabinets, and also recently completed a full kitchen renovation. Working with a certified electrician, Joseph took care of the kitchen's demolition, haul-away, permitting and bringing everything up to the code. Then, the installation of absolutely gorgeous walnut cabinets lined with dove-tailed maple drawers and cupboards. He also undertook the appliance installation and final, successful permit sign-off with our local municipality. And finally he painted the entire kitchen! All this took place within 30-days, once he had completed the cabinetry, off-site. We could not be more pleased! Joseph has in the past come to our residence to listen and discuss with us what we would like to accomplish, and then renders marvelous -CAD drawings so that one can see the plan and dimensional effect. It is a highly tailored and customized process, but Joseph undertakes all the heavy lifting! His sense of the aesthetic and artistry with his cabinetry manufacturer is exquisite. The end result will bring a lifetime of utility and satisfaction. We highly recommend Joseph Petersen / J.W.P. Wood! TOM & LORI - Danville, California

The seller denied fixing it in our inspection period, so it was on my *lengthy* list of move-in to-dos. I found AZ Studs, Carpentry, and Remodeling on Yelp and gave them a call! Joel called me back within an hour, willing to come over and take a look that day. Now friends, this is a very minor job compared to their full remodels but he was willing to help put my type A mind at ease. He installed a wooden piece along the base of the peak to make it nice and straight. Yayyyy!! I'm so happy. It has literally bothered me every day since move-in ( I AM CRAZY) and I'm so grateful that he was willing to take the time out of his *very busy* schedule to do this super tiny, 45 minute job for me. Joe was able to come out to my house within a few days took measurements and just a few days later he sent a very competitive quote. The install was incredibly clean the crew picked up after themselves and respected my home. I'm very happy with the product the difference in heat and noise is night and day. I'll be updating my review in a year or so to see how they hold up. Initial install date May 2022

I've had an idea to combine bed 3 with our master bed ever since we moved in a few years ago but…read morewas worried the job wasn't big enough to attract a contractor. Eric replied in no time and emailed an estimate not long after. This job involved drywall (delete a door and add a large arched opening), electrical, custom cabinets, shelves, interior/exterior paint, and a touch of flooring. Eric and his guys did an amazing job. My wife loves the closet they converted into a reading nook. We always felt comfortable with the crew in our house. They worked around our schedule and Eric was always available for a quick check-in so I knew where we were with each step. The two big standouts were the price staying the same even though he did a few extras, and Salvador nailing that 8' high 6' wide arch! We couldn't be happier and would definitely use them again.

We replaced…read morethe flooring, painted the entire house, updated bathrooms, put in a new fireplace, updated pantry and closets, and did a complete kitchen remodel. The kitchen required removing a wall to open up the closed dark kitchen and adding an oversized bar. Eric was extremely timely and professional in getting us a comprehensive quote. He was also extremely affordable as well. He started work right away and did a phenomenal job. We gave him pictures of what we wanted for the kitchen and fireplace, and he replicated the style to a T - which most contractors can't do without a designer helping them. He also was able to design and order custom cabinets for our pantry. Eric was extremely detail oriented throughout the process, checking in with us as needed for style and safety decisions, and always updated us on cost or possible delays. He also was insanely knowledgable about every area of construction such as dry wall, plumbing, electrical, fabrication, flooring, tiling, etc. This guy really is a one man show - he can do it all. Eric did have a few subcontractors help him with the job and they were always fantastic to work with as well. He knows quality workmanship and partnership. He finished the job in a timely timeframe and our home is gorgeous and the workmanship is quality - for a great price. If you need any renovations done, Eric with E.L. Construction is the way to go. Highly recommend!

The shower pan was installed with no liner....that's literally bathroom construction 101. Which means I'm going to have to rip out both shower pans and have them redone costing me thousands of dollars and delaying me renting out the property. Stay the hell away from Russ. This guy is a straight-up con artist who steals and leaves a trail of destruction and unpaid bills. The work he did/subbed out on my shower was a complete joke. It's leaking through the floor pan, rotting the baseboards, drywall, and flooring. I had to chase Russ down just to get the subcontractor's contact info--(don't forget, I paid half of the shower cost direct to the subcontractor when it was already in the budget and was Russ's responsibility but I needed the job done). Russ blew all the money I gave him and it was NOT on my job because he barely bought anything. When I finally called the subcontractor, he told me Russ NEVER paid him the other half--what a shock. The subcontractor promised to get back to me in a week, then promptly disconnected his phone. And I'm sure you can guess Russ quit answering my calls and texts. So not only did Russ steal money from me, but he also ripped off his own subcontractor and left me with a total mess. Russ is the definition of a crook. He'll leave you with unfinished work, unpaid contractors, and a pile of garbage that costs you even more to fix. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. Worst experience ever.

The short version is that they came to evaluate my front door, and ended up fixing it on the spot…read more So far (it's been over a week now) the door is closing better, more easily. Really 4.5 stars. There was some difficultly with communication that required some persistence on my part. But that only rates a 1/2 star reduction because he did eventually schedule me in. The long version follows: We have had problems with the front door for some time. And it seemed to be getting worse over the years. We had someone out several years ago, and they only put additional stripping on the jamb. This year the door sweep appeared to be wearing out (again), and the new one didn't want to mount (it was too thick). Checking reviews I called Precision Fit (Jason). After a few fumbled communications, Jason put me in his calendar. From then on the communication was good. He showed up to evaluate my door. I had sent him photos, and he thought he might have to remove the entire door frame and redo it. But he wanted to see it for himself, and was going to be in the area. To my surprise, when he showed up he said something along the lines of "I can do this now". Next thing I know he's moved the hinges, and shimmed a bit, and replaced the weather stripping, and even lowered the threshold so the sweep doesn't drag so much. Plus he drove longer screws into the frame to hold the hinges better. When he was done the door opened and closed better, and there were no light leaks around the door. Previously what clued me in to the problem was light leaks both at the top-left and lower-right of the door. Those are now gone. And he didn't have to rip the frame out. He still could have done that, and I wouldn't have known that it wasn't necessary. But he spent about 1-2 hours, fixed the problem, and saved me money compared to the more expensive procedure of remounting a door frame. So I recommend this service. They are honest and only do the work that is needed, and they appear to do it right. Post-script: It turns out that I called Precision Fit six years ago, but it wasn't Jason then. I remember a middle-aged man who didn't really impress me. He's the one who added thicker weather stripping and said not much else could be done. Jason proved him wrong.
