The runs are spacious and very clean. Dogs have individual spaces and are safe in their own private indoor/outdoor runs.

The Doggz Inn

The Doggz Inn

For over 10 years, I have brought my beloved border collie, Freud, and then, my little rat…read moreterrier, Skinner, to the Doggz Inn. They just love it. They get groomed there, have been in daycare, and have been boarded there over the years. The facility is clean and the staff are wonderful with my boys. I have never been worried when I leave them and they get so excited when I tell them that the are going to daycare. I highly recommend the Doggz Inn to anyone who loves their pet and doesn't want to worry about their care.

NEVER! Bring your dog to this place. I have heard nothing but bad things about it. My grandmother…read moregod a new dog for Christmas this year. She brought her here & she was hit by another dog. The lender never told my grandmother just brought her the dog with stitches in her & the bill. That night my grandmothers dog passed away because she wasn't cared for properly at the vet. The vet that my grandmother didn't bring her to or know about until after it happened. She didn't get a call when her dog was bit or when she was in surgery after the attack. This is the not the first dog that has passed away from the care of this place. If you ask around you will hear other terrifying stories. I even know someone who quit working there because she disagreed with how it was run & told the owner they needed to watch the dogs more & the owner said you don't need to watch the dogs all the time. Another dog was found there dead after being attacked by other dogs from them not being watched. Another family asked for their dog to not have a shock collar used on their dog & the owner went ahead & did it after. Please please if you love you dog do NOT bring them here.

Kara's Pet Care

I used Kara's Pet Care for a week when my husband and I went on vacation. I had never used a dog…read moresitter before and was a little anxious about leaving my 12 yr old and 10 yr old golden retrievers with someone whom I nor my dogs knew. Before the visit, Kara the owner came to my house to meet me and my dogs and totally put me at ease. Then I met Morgan who dog sat for us. She was so professional, kind and loved the dogs and the dogs loved her. Throughout my trip Morgan would send me pictures of my dogs walking, playing, etc. We are going on another trip and have booked Kara's Pet Care again. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants their fur children loved and cared for while away!

I recently moved to Maine and contacted Kara's Petcare on the recommendation of my vet. I was so…read moreexcited because it seemed like they would be able to offer daycare for my dogs and some auxiliary training if needed. They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.
