What an awful dr.
My doctor left town and we got him by default. I was caring for my Dad, who had Alzheimers, and patterson decided it was best for Dad to not have any blood work or tests during the year we were his patients. After we left and found a doctor who actually listened to our concerns and showed care for his patients, Dad received the much needed check up and routine blood work, and thus we discovered that he had cancer, which had gone unchecked and unknown for enough time that he had to undergo surgery. He never recovered and passed away within six weeks.
My friend had him prior to our family, and she literally told me that he had her on so many different medications that she thought he was trying to kill her! She got away from him too and her new doctor took her off the toxic concoctions and her health improved almost overnight.
For me, he was utterly horrible too. Absolutely no bedside manner, nor tact for that matter. He recklessly discontinued the anxiety medication I had been on for over a decade because he didn't believe I needed it, cold turkey. That I just needed to be a stronger person and take control of my life and stresses. Yes, personal responsibility for ones own health is ideal, but I wasn't there yet. He says duck hunting was his stress buster, and to get away from his wife and daughters. Which is great for him, but I do not have the luxury of getting away with the fellas. I was in the middle of caring for my elderly father and a teenage son, I couldn't even get away to wet a line and fish in our beautiful lakes and rivers, I do not think he understands what caring for someone with Alzheimers is really like, nor the immense challenges that accompany it. No compassion, and he expressed that he was sick of patients whining about their health when they weren't willing to change their habits.
I have had some sketchy doctors up in these here hills over the decades, but this smug, self important, holier than thou, machismo, misogynist, compassion-less dude was the worst.
I highly recommend you seek health care form another source, someone with a true understanding of the Hippocratic oath, first, do NO HARM. read more
