Unfortunately I've now moved to Canada which is a bit of a trek for a filling! I can't recommend the practice highly enough. I referred friends here and they were equally delighted. They do their best to slot you in for treatment when it suits-they're open weekdays and also approximately every second Saturday 9-12. The surgery is bright and shiny and always gleaming. It's good from the moment you go in the door. Sandra, the nurse, is lovely and extremely friendly. The waiting room has Sky News and a selection of up to date magazines and a copy of the Examiner. The surgery itself also has a TV if you need distracting-but you won't. Not only is Aidan an excellent dentist who doesn't hurt you; he's also a great conversationalist who is endlessly entertaining. The time flies by! He also doesn't give out. He just tells you what needs to be done. I can't imagine anyone retaining a fear of dentists after attending him. His wife is also in the practice and is lovely. I would go to either of them. And do so happily. So definitely go, but don't say I sent you. Being new in Cork, I was sort of anxious finding a dentist like the one I had in Germany, but Doc Monahan turned out to be the very best choice. A great entertainer, an excellent dentist and a gorgeous team. Thanks to you guys and to my house share-mate Georgio who recommended him to me. I got to see a dentist, Susan Crean, and explained a piece of filling had fallen out and I wanted it replace. She told me I didn't need a filling and gave me a cleaning instead (which I hadn't come for) and charged me for that. After a couple of days the tooth was bothering me with a sharp edge and a hole where food was lodging. I went back to the dentist and again told her I needed a filling. Again she told me I didn't and that she would give me a deep cleaning. I made it very clear to her I didn't want a cleaning but a filling. She then began to do a procedure, which I assumed was a filling but instead turned out to be a cleaning. Again I was charged for something I did not want and of course did not get what I had gone for. I then went to the dental hospital in Cork and was told there I did need a filling but there was a long waiting list to be seen so I went to another Dentist in Tralee who filled the tooth. So Susan Crean of Mac Domhnaill dental surgery could not ascertain that a filling was required even though I had told her a piece of filling had fallen out. The word "incompetent" springs to mind. She gave me a deep cleaning against my wishes, a violation of my body. The word "unethical" springs to mind. The whole experience was unprofessional, instead of engaging with me (the patient) she chatted with her assistant about her friends in the UK while treating me. Susan Crean may be operating on her own now in Denny Street Tralee. My recommendation is to stay well away from this surgery.

I attended this practice and was treated by Dr Susan Crean. I have always been nervous and afraid…read moreof getting dental treatment and would always try and avoid it until it became unavoidable. However, recently I was experiencing a lot of pain and took the decision to get treated. Luckily when I attended the practice I was met by the pleasant and friendly Dr Crean who immediately put me at ease. After an initial examination the problem was diagnosed and Dr Crean explained to me the course of treatment required to remedy my problem. Her professionalism and caring manner really put me at ease . I have had no further problems and would not hesitate to recommend Susan Crean to anyone.

I have been to a lot of dentists and was always terrified,but this one is just different everybody…read moreis so nice and I can honestly say I have never been so relaxed I got gas sedation and had root canal treatment the dentists name was mairead and I would recommend here to anybody, it's about time that this type of service has become available . I can honestly say that I will get anything I need done now and have no problem going back thank you so much to mairead and the dental nurse with her.
