When I called to make my the appointment I was informed I couldn't see the hygienist until I saw the main Dentist as this is common practice for a new patient. I waited two weeks for an appointment which wasn't too bad. The office is located about 5 minutes from the top of Camden street and inside an old Georgian house. The reception is located on the bottom floor and I was greeted by two very friendly receptionist. Filled out a quick form and was right on time to meet with Dr. Ed. Being honest I was actually taken aback by Dr. Ed's friendliness. You can tell that his patients are very important to him and he took genuine interest in myself. He was quick and precise but at no point did I feel rushed. I definitely felt he knew what he was talking about. I was then moved along to the Hygienist who again I felt very comfortable with. I would highly recommend.

Everything was explained and all the options were given..a pre-bill so I knew how much everything would cost over the next month...4/5 visits! I was disappointed with one thing; I had a filling and it was to cost E120. I went tot the front desk to pay I was charged more, nearly E30 more. I questioned it and was told the filling was deeper than originally expected so it cost more... communication PLEASE...never knew this until I was being charged...my pre-bill quote flew out the window :(

Unfortunately I've now moved to Canada which is a bit of a trek for a filling! I can't recommend the practice highly enough. I referred friends here and they were equally delighted. They do their best to slot you in for treatment when it suits-they're open weekdays and also approximately every second Saturday 9-12. The surgery is bright and shiny and always gleaming. It's good from the moment you go in the door. Sandra, the nurse, is lovely and extremely friendly. The waiting room has Sky News and a selection of up to date magazines and a copy of the Examiner. The surgery itself also has a TV if you need distracting-but you won't. Not only is Aidan an excellent dentist who doesn't hurt you; he's also a great conversationalist who is endlessly entertaining. The time flies by! He also doesn't give out. He just tells you what needs to be done. I can't imagine anyone retaining a fear of dentists after attending him. His wife is also in the practice and is lovely. I would go to either of them. And do so happily. So definitely go, but don't say I sent you. Being new in Cork, I was sort of anxious finding a dentist like the one I had in Germany, but Doc Monahan turned out to be the very best choice. A great entertainer, an excellent dentist and a gorgeous team. Thanks to you guys and to my house share-mate Georgio who recommended him to me.
