Total rip off
Shawn B.

They put this cap on in the spring. I found it laying in my yard today. I called them to come out and fix their "guaranteed work." They want to charge me a $125 service fee! They said it's not covered under any warranty! It's Gods fault! Taking care of veterans! They put sham in shamrock!

Cracks in the newly fixed crown. This should have had sealant applied to it in accordance with industry standards

DO NOT USE. They are a nightmare to work with. I paid nearly $9,000 in June 2025 for repairs that were poorly done and already failing. They applied cement to damp walls, left the crown cracked and unsealed, and the work does not meet code. The crown they just re-did is already cracked (see pictures)A second licensed contractor said it will cost over $14,000 to fix properly. Despite 10+ follow-ups, Shamrock refused to come back, saying they're "too busy." I was left with an unsafe, unrepaired chimney.

We hired Shamrock to repair our chimney after discovering it was the source of a roof leak. Unfortunately, the initial work was not done properly, and the leak continued. Two independent roofing professionals later confirmed that Shamrock's work was poorly executed and the likely reason the problem persisted. We reached back out, and to their credit, Shamrock agreed to return and fix the issue. However, the follow-up visit was just as frustrating. The technician arrived an hour and a half earlier than the scheduled time window, was rude about waiting for 10 minutes when no one was home yet, and insisted the original work had been done correctly--despite clear evidence otherwise. Fast forward to the next rain storm a few weeks later and again the water damage inside our home continues. We again reached out to shamrock, they gave us a date a few weeks later to come and evaluate further. Originally, Jennifer, the "representative attached to our case", said that the original job wasn't to "fix the leak" and that our chimney could need much more than what they originally claimed would fix our issue. We waited the day scheduled for such evaluation and there was no technician to be found. When contacting the office we received several different explanations, all conflicting one another including one from officer manager Chris who said "the work was over a year ago, get over it". We requested a refund of our original $1600 due to incomplete work and the fact that the "10 year warranty" was not satisfied. This was denied and we were told to stop contacting the company or they would file charges of harassment. Overall, the workmanship and professionalism were both very disappointing. We ended up spending more time and money to have others correct what should have been done right the first time. I would not recommend Shamrock based on our experience.

I was very close to canceling and gave them a clear ultimatum that if they did not make the next day's appointment, I would walk away. To their credit, they showed up the very next day and they were on time. Two technicians arrived and immediately got to work. One was on the roof while the other worked in the basement, and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. They also explained that this is a family owned business, with multiple family members working together on the same jobs, which really showed in how coordinated and invested they were in the work. The scope of work involved installing a stainless steel chimney liner designed to properly vent double gas appliances, upgrading existing connections for safety and code compliance, installing two double tee connections, and finishing everything with a stainless steel top plate and rain cap. They also handled flashing and waterproofing by installing aluminum flashing with ice shield underlayment, carefully removing shingles as needed, and waterproofing the exterior of the chimney to prevent future moisture issues. What stood out most was their professionalism and communication. They explained each step clearly, answered questions without rushing, and made sure I understood why certain upgrades were necessary. The workmanship looks excellent and very clean, especially considering the complexity of the job. Despite the rocky start, they ultimately delivered quality work and followed through when it mattered. The finished product looks great and gives me confidence that the system is safe and properly done.

I decided to get a quote because my chimney was missing a lot of mortar between the bricks. The owner Ricardo Castillo came to inspect it. He's very professional from arriving on time to giving the quote. I'm very happy with their work ethics from protecting my property as well as my neighbors ( putting up tarps to make a tent over the chimney) the work is complete and I'm very happy from the start to finish of the job. The price was very reasonable as well. I highly recommend Chimney Solutions !!

If I read the Yelp reviews I would NOT have picked them I think it was the 1st week in November when we went to Clayton Richard's stone & Fireplace. We met the lady at the desk (which turns out is the sister in law & not all that friendly) We picked out our stove & Eric came to price it out. We came up with we were buying the stone and mantle & in Eric's words, prices his jobs "with everything" installed, including stone and mantle. Weeks went by then months. When it came in, we we were told by Eric, the fireplace came in broken, that they had to order another one. But a few weeks earlier the sister in law told us it was back ordered. At this point I purchased the stone. I wasn't paying to much attention to the stonework, ,but was completed. Eric says let me know when the mantle is in, & the gas line is done They don't do it, but said just get it to the fireplace, we'll hook it up. So i got the line close, and figured they would want to install a line from the fireplace to the pipe. Now that the stonework was done, I noticed that the stone was higher up then I'd envisioned. With it being so high, how was It going to work, adding another 6" or 8" mantle. It was going to look absolutely ridiculous. I mean it was going to bring the bottom of the tv to a minimum of 58" almost 5 foot off the ground. So NOT noticing at first glance that the stonework was off center, and there was a 2 1/2 to 3" difference. I had the mantle cut to the size of the length of the stone. Ok mantle is in, and we call the store, and Eric gets back to us and says ok it'll be 700.00 to install. We absolutely could not believe he was charging us. We knew that Eric specifically told us he does not like to bill separately for jobs, that he charges one price. & that's for the entire job. It was then that we noticed the stonework was "OFF" we called the store and told them we need Eric to come and look at the job, that they screwed it up. And they also have to complete the job ( it still was NOT hooked up) .So one of the guys came, and I showed him what the issue was. If you could have seen his face ..it was priceless. OOOFFF I said we really didn't notice it, until later. We also told Oscar, that the stonework was really high, that they did not account for the mantle being installed. So he took pictures and obviously sent them to Eric. Oscar plugs in the receiver or whatever, and tells me the gas liine isn't installed. I told him Eric told me to get it close to the fireplace and they'll hook it up. But he tells me they dont do that.. I found that odd, it literally took me 10 minutes to hook up. And because we were so bothered by the work he did abd the fact that he was charging us to mouth the mantle. I actually paid someone else to hang it. We even had them cut back the stone a row so we can have the height of the tv somewhat normal. (Mind you this was like in January, when it was finished) Ok Eric calls me the next day or so. Says I heard there was an issue with the fireplace. I say yeah it's "OFF" IN every sense of the word. And I told him seriously this is like basic skills, this is level and symmetrical 101. So now we're going back and forth about the job, and what they did. I didn't flip out, yell, I just figured he'd fix it. We did have a balance of 2,000 and Eric says what if I take off 500. I said Eric the job cost us 12 THOUSAND DOLLARS! & the entire job is messed up. I mean this isn't an easy fix. I said you really need to come and look at the job. So he says ok let's call it a wash and forget about the balance. Which was more what I was thinking of. We called the store for some reason and the lady says we have a note here that we have a balance of 2000, and we're not to come back to the house..something like that. So at this point the fireplace was not even tested by them, "They were done with the job" they never once saw it or tested to see if it was working. That I think is terrible business..this is a propane stove and just left as is! A few weeks later Eric calls me says I didn't like the wsy it ended, I dont think I ( meaning himself) did the right thing. Says i want to make it right, that he was going to fix it, and don't worry about anything we'll take care of it. The way the phone call went, he was fixing it for nothing, to clear his name &rreputation. He comes over looks at and first glance says the air is wrong on the unit. Its causing the chimney to have all that soot and glass is black. I said well when your son left, he left with pictures thats it. He never mentioned anything about completing the job. It just needed a flex line ..and nobody once asked if it was hooked up, or anything. You guys just left. So he adjusted the air and had his guys clean the glass. He says ok ill set some up. He calls & tells me ill do it for the balance. I was so annoyed,I just left it as is WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

I gave my deposit and then was called several weeks later and said they could not do the job for that amount due to the rise in prices during COVID. The prices had already gone up when I was given the estimate, so I didn't understand why the sudden change. I think they realized that the estimate was on the low side. They will be sending me back my deposit, putting it in the mail tomorrow morning. I just don't think this is good business. And even if they came back and said they would do the job for the original estimate I still would not go with this company. All comments are welcome. Eddie the guy that gave me the estimate called me this morning and apologized for the mistake. Due to the COVID issues, which is like Eddie said is no ones fault everything has gone up tremendously. Even though I have never had work done by this company, I am giving it 5 stars for the Honesty. Another reason why I changed my star rating was because of customer service on the part of Eddie. It was very nice for him to take the time out to call me, and that did mean a lot. I'm just disappointed because at this point I have to put my work off till the spring.
