Horrible experience dealing with them! I left info for my project on Angi's List. The tech that came out, and his helper started vaping and then acting very irrationally and ordering me around. When I think of it, I am horrified. My damaged tools, my damaged matetials and building, and the amount of money I paid! Then they lied to my credit card company, and in spite of my photographs, they believed them! They did send someone else out to repair the damage after that, but up until the last moment, they said it was going to be the same tech in spite of my saying I would call the sheriff if he showed up! They still owe me money for ruined components. Angi's List has closed my complaint and has taken down my review unless I give them a 4 or 5 rating. Since winter months are coming and chimney cleanings are happening my PSA regarding Shamrock Chimneys: They are the absolute worst company i have ever dealt with. They completed work on my chimney sept 4th. Thinking all.is great, we went to buy a wood stove and the owner of that business asked to see the hook up. It was then when we were told the work done was completely wrong. We had it inspected the same day (sept 8th) and it was deemed completely unsafe (ie, they used combustible insulation in the chimney and did nothing what they said they were going to do!) ... we have now played the calling game begging to speak to managers and they will not call us. Sept 9th finally spoke to one and she scheduled a tech to return sept 12. They NO SHOWED!! We again began calling and calling to now be told we will NOT be getting a refund .. Make that make sense. .we paid them sept 4th... the 5, 6 and 7th was the holiday weekend and my check was cashed sept 8th before I can even hold the payment as per their contract states for the "3 day" satisfaction guarantee. Do NOT even consider using them to clean your chimney bc they also didnt do that correctly either. The answering service team is absolutely crap--- and they refuse to get a manager on the phone. Terrible people. Sloppy, unprofessional work. Got cement all over my bluestone patio. Tried to tell me it's normal. Sent 2 guys out to "fix" it. Poor guys worked all day then their boss sent them to me at 6pm. I could hear their boss (woman) screaming over the cell phone and saying I was f'n crazy and they weren't cleaning ALL the croked lines, only a few. They spent 15 minutes here and left. I called to complain again and they came back even more angry now. They borrowed my tools to do what they could to make it look better. I don't blame these workers that actually told me they are independent contractors. I blame the original worker that made a mess and the company for allowing it. I received a call this morning and set up an appointment for 25 June...I then received a callback asking if I wanted the sweep to come by today which I agreed...I was told he would be at my house in 30 minutes...he didn't show up. I bring this up as I am 78 years of age and in poor health...I rushed home and waited...he finally came an hour later and tried to sell me up immediately. I have owned this house for 25 years and use the wood stove for heat. Also it was arranged to only clean the chimney...he had other ideas in mind...he wanted access to my home, which I clearly explained to the order person would not be possible as my wife recently had a stroke. I am familiar with how it works and usually I have had a sweep who works from the bottom up with a large dremel which takes care of creosote. Shamrock is a dishonest company; they attract you with a cheap chimney sweep and then they persuade you that there is something wrong with your fireplace that requires repairs that varies from $1800 to $3600 for my case depending on technician. I almost fell for it. then I called ABSOLUTE PRECISION and Chris made the sweep and inspection without trying to scam me with some unneeded extra work and money. read more

In 2020 we had these guys install a chimney liner for our woodstove. The work done was OK. We were told a new liner didn't need to be cleaned for 5 years. I called last year and was told we're good for another year. OK. I called today (10.2.2025) to get a cleaning done and was told the work was done in 2020, the company changed hands and they don't have to honor that commitment. They applied cement to damp walls, left the crown cracked and unsealed, and the work does not meet code. We hired Shamrock to repair our chimney after discovering it was the source of a roof leak. Unfortunately, the initial work was not done properly, and the leak continued. Two independent roofing professionals later confirmed that Shamrock's work was poorly executed and the likely reason the problem persisted. We reached back out, and to their credit, Shamrock agreed to return and fix the issue. However, the follow-up visit was just as frustrating. The technician arrived an hour and a half earlier than the scheduled time window, was rude about waiting for 10 minutes when no one was home yet, and insisted the original work had been done correctly--despite clear evidence otherwise. Fast forward to the next rain storm a few weeks later and again the water damage inside our home continues. We again reached out to shamrock, they gave us a date a few weeks later to come and evaluate further. Originally, Jennifer, the "representative attached to our case", said that the original job wasn't to "fix the leak" and that our chimney could need much more than what they originally claimed would fix our issue. We waited the day scheduled for such evaluation and there was no technician to be found. When contacting the office we received several different explanations, all conflicting one another including one from officer manager Chris who said "the work was over a year ago, get over it". We requested a refund of our original $1600 due to incomplete work and the fact that the "10 year warranty" was not satisfied. This was denied and we were told to stop contacting the company or they would file charges of harassment. Overall, the workmanship and professionalism were both very disappointing. We ended up spending more time and money to have others correct what should have been done right the first time. I would not recommend Shamrock based on our experience. read more

This company has cost me $1200 in parts thus far to repair my Jotul Oslo 500 stove. They came out to clean the chimney and check the stove. The totally inept repairman tore down the stove, ripped out the catalytic converter and sucked up bolts in his vacuum. Then left. $125 (gave me a $50 discount). When I cleaned the stove the next morning, I discovered the parts had just been set into the stove. So, I need a new converter ($700), refractory parts (300) and a service call from a place that knows what they are doing, $129 an hour. Meantime, I've had no use of the stove for a month and it is the depth of winter. Despite having a good supply of firewood, I am forced to use electric heaters and home heating oil, at a cost of $500 a month. The company does not respond to any inquiries. They were 8 hours late getting to the appointment. I wish they had never showed up at all. This has been a horrible, expensive winter thanks to Shamrock. I bought the stove cleaning. The guys came here for 15 minutes. Turned on a vacuum, I had to do something they called me back in 15 minutes saying they finished. Then tried to sell me a new liner for $2100. I was skeptical and checked if they actually cleaned it. They did not as you could see from the picture. I messaged the company about it and they said the technicians couldn't do the job. However the techs told me they cleaned it and charged me the fee. Company now claims that stove was not able to be cleaned even though in the picture you can see it is possible. And again the technician stated he cleaned it with no problems. Services were scheduled to start September 21, 2025. After a number of inquiries on Monday, August 18, 2025 regarding contract terms and conditions and warranty which received no response, I sent a cancellation notice via e-mail in accordance with the terms and conditions of the estimate and the 3-day cancellation law of the State of Pennsylvania. He did a thorough inspection, letting me know of some issues that needed to be addressed immediately and then suggested some future maintenance recommendations.
