This company has cost me $1200 in parts thus far to repair my Jotul Oslo 500 stove. They came out to clean the chimney and check the stove. The totally inept repairman tore down the stove, ripped out the catalytic converter and sucked up bolts in his vacuum. Then left. $125 (gave me a $50 discount). When I cleaned the stove the next morning, I discovered the parts had just been set into the stove. So, I need a new converter ($700), refractory parts (300) and a service call from a place that knows what they are doing, $129 an hour. Meantime, I've had no use of the stove for a month and it is the depth of winter. Despite having a good supply of firewood, I am forced to use electric heaters and home heating oil, at a cost of $500 a month. The company does not respond to any inquiries. They were 8 hours late getting to the appointment. I wish they had never showed up at all. This has been a horrible, expensive winter thanks to Shamrock. In 2020 we had these guys install a chimney liner for our woodstove. The work done was OK. We were told a new liner didn't need to be cleaned for 5 years. I called last year and was told we're good for another year. OK. They applied cement to damp walls, left the crown cracked and unsealed, and the work does not meet code. We hired Shamrock to repair our chimney after discovering it was the source of a roof leak. Unfortunately, the initial work was not done properly, and the leak continued. Two independent roofing professionals later confirmed that Shamrock's work was poorly executed and the likely reason the problem persisted. We reached back out, and to their credit, Shamrock agreed to return and fix the issue. However, the follow-up visit was just as frustrating. The technician arrived an hour and a half earlier than the scheduled time window, was rude about waiting for 10 minutes when no one was home yet, and insisted the original work had been done correctly--despite clear evidence otherwise. Fast forward to the next rain storm a few weeks later and again the water damage inside our home continues. We again reached out to shamrock, they gave us a date a few weeks later to come and evaluate further. Originally, Jennifer, the "representative attached to our case", said that the original job wasn't to "fix the leak" and that our chimney could need much more than what they originally claimed would fix our issue. We waited the day scheduled for such evaluation and there was no technician to be found. When contacting the office we received several different explanations, all conflicting one another including one from officer manager Chris who said "the work was over a year ago, get over it". We requested a refund of our original $1600 due to incomplete work and the fact that the "10 year warranty" was not satisfied. This was denied and we were told to stop contacting the company or they would file charges of harassment. Overall, the workmanship and professionalism were both very disappointing. I bought the stove cleaning. The guys came here for 15 minutes. Turned on a vacuum, I had to do something they called me back in 15 minutes saying they finished. Then tried to sell me a new liner for $2100. I was skeptical and checked if they actually cleaned it. They did not as you could see from the picture. I messaged the company about it and they said the technicians couldn't do the job. However the techs told me they cleaned it and charged me the fee. I approved an estimate for masonry services by Shamrock Chimney on Friday, August 15, 2025 and made a $5,000 deposit via credit card on the same day. Services were scheduled to start September 21, 2025. After a number of inquiries on Monday, August 18, 2025 regarding contract terms and conditions and warranty which received no response, I sent a cancellation notice via e-mail in accordance with the terms and conditions of the estimate and the 3-day cancellation law of the State of Pennsylvania. We had Shamrock come out to look at our 27-year-old gas fireplace. We couldn't get the pilot light to light. They sent 2 guys that didn't seem to know what they were doing. The first thing the lead guy said was that he would have to replace the whole ignition system for $1,500. He hadn't even tried to light the pilot light yet! My husband had to tell him that he had turned the gas off (the guy didn't look) and would he at least try to manually light the pilot light, which he then did, and it wouldn't stay lit. At one point, my husband asked if he wanted the owner's manual. He did. They put the glass back on the front, charged us $150 and left. We called the office to complain about the incompetence. Shamrock does not stand behind its work. They refused to honor their warranty, instead demanding $700 once already agreeing to come out for a "warranty repair" to fix their mess. In 2019, our home inspection identified the lack of a damper for our basement fireplace as an issue. We had a few companies price a new damper and identified Shamrock for the work. Shamrock explained the benefit of a damper at the top of the chimney and upsold a new damper for the living room fireplace. The installer said new clay flues needed to be installed. In the end, our chimney looked terrible. Even more problematic is that the dampers were installed so close together that they would catch on each other rendering them both only quasi operable. The receipt for the 2019 work clearly stated a lifetime warranty on the components and a 10 year warranty on the masonry. When I got fed up with the situation, I started contacting Shamrock. I cannot find record of when I first started contacting them to fix the issue under warranty but became persistent about it this summer. After numerous efforts to schedule the repair, one unscheduled arrival when we were not home and they climbed on the roof anyways (further damaging the boiler cap), and one cancellation for an employee being bitten by a dog, Shamrock finally came. Once on-site, Shamrock insisted that it was a "new job", the warranty would not apply, and essentially extorted me for an additional $700 to fix their mess. They told me that it was a good deal because they wouldn't charge me $800 for materials (a $20 bag or mortar from the average hardware store). The job took about an hour. (Note, I have not included a picture of the repair.) After hearing shards of clay flue or mortar sliding down my solar panels and one landing on my outdoor air conditioner compressor, I asked if the crew needed cardboard to protect my metal roof, I was rebuffed and was told "we are very careful, nothing will hit your roof." Their method of getting debris off the roof was to throw it down onto the front lawn (which explains the big hunks of clay flue that I nearly hit with my lawn mower the next weekend). At the end of the job, I was told to sign a contract and was pressured to do so without reading the terms. I asked to read the terms and was told I could not. I ended up signing and noting that I was not permitted to read the terms on the signature line. Bottom line is that my experience with Shamrock was beyond awful. I would, clearly, not recommend them to anyone. In my experience, they upsell you a solution that cannot be installed, install it anyways such that it is not operable, tell you they will come out for a warranty repair, and then demand money to fix what they broke. read more

I called the company at another location to find out the company phine number in my area's address and was told it was an apartment complex so i reached out to a different location where I found an address to mail NDA the contract with a written request to cancel. It was returned because it requires an apartment number which was not included on the website. This particular address i was told to use to send the contract. Fortunately working with Langley from day one after realizing this was a possible scam I gave Langley all of the documentation to file a dispute through the dispute process. With Langley's assistants approximately 6 weeks later Langley was able to return the $400 to me. read more

I won't bother going into all the details, except to say that they never finished the job they were hired to do, then they committed fraud when they charged my credit card without my authorization and now I just inspected the inside of my fireplace to find that they never even connected the exhaust from my wood-burning stove. Our chimney was over 100 years old and badly needed repair and is very high up. There were missing bricks and mortar and the structure was basically coming apart. Joseph and his technician did a great job removing the unstable chimney, rebuilding and flashing the chimney. It was quite difficult to get to the chimney and they carefully planned and set up access, and cautiously took the old chimney down. They both arrived on time, came prepared and were very professional. They cleaned everything after they left -the yard, driveway including using the blower on the lower roof, and then hosing off the roof and driveway. The work was difficult and heavy. On 02.10. 2024, I called Shamrock and told them that the chimney caps they installed were moving out of place and they might fall off. I told Shamrock that I was fearful that the caps could fall, damaging my roof and cars, or injuring someone walking below. Shamrock told me that someone would be out, but no one came out. After 2 months with no response from Shamrock, on 04. 04. 2024, I called them again and said that one of my chimney caps had fallen off of the roof and landed on the side door entrance to my house. Shamrock told me that someone from their company would be out to reinstall the cap, but no one came out. On 04.10, 2024, I called Shamrock again, and requested to speak to the owner; I was told that he would call me the next day, however he never called. On 04.16, 2024, I hired a reputable contractor to assess the work done by Shamrock. They informed me that the 2 caps installed by Shamrock were incorrect, and they were installed incorrectly; Shamrock physically bent the top of one of the caps, because it didn't fit next to the second cap; so there was no room to insert and fasten 2 screws designed to hold the 2 caps securely in place resulting in the cap falling off of the chimney. A reputable company subsequently installed the correct single cap specified for my chimney ($610.00}. They also told me that it did not appear that Shamrock had recemented loose brick as they said they had done, Subsequently, I contacted the MA Attorney General's Office, who put me in touch with a Consumer Advocate to help resolve my issue with Shamrock. On 08.13, 2024, the consumer advocate texted me that "Our customer assistance requires the cooperation of the business, and the owner of Shamrock Chimney is uncooperative; therefore, we are unable to proceed. " The consumer advocate advised filing a lawsuit against Shamrock and provided me with the addresses that the Court could send the subpoena to. I filed a lawsuit in Attleboro District Court against the owner of Shamrock Chimney, and weeks later I received a notice that the subpoena was undeliverable. As long as Shamrock is using addresses that are undeliverable to, they cannot be served a subpoena that compels them to come to court. I am trying to recoup the $610 installation cost of the correct cap, and the additional $50.00 court filing cost. I have contacted the Attorney General's Office of the State of New York to locate these Defendants so they can be compelled to come to Court. read more
