I had originally planned to do the work myself so I have most of the parts. Their estimate was $4,375 for labor only. I figure it would have taken me about 5 hours to do this work when I was their age (I'm 72). That equates to $875 an hour for labor. My attorney only charged me $250 an hour last year. I will never use Affinity Plumbing for anything but bad jokes.

Ticking sounds in the wall while heat is on. DRHorton ordered them to come last December. The guy came and identified the ductwork pipe causing that sounds and decided to just pull the vent register out couple of times. This covered up the issue for half a day and the ductwork went back to its original position. Ticking sounds back. DRHorton coordinated them to come again together with floor guy to open the floor and fix the issue. This time, same guy came and what he did is simply shifted the main vent a bit. Of course it let the sound go for the moment but that is not a solution! We told him that he did similar thing last time. He first refused to admit he had come fixing it before, after we provided more details he called his manager and finally admitted he had an unsuccessful fix last time. Then he said I had to go, my manager said that is just natural sound of a house. What the fuck? Your manager was not even here! When and how did he get the super power to hear a sound remotely and determine that's the natural sounds?! Yep, 10 min after he left and the sound is back again. We ran into him two houses away from ours about 1 hour after he left, and let him know that the sound was back. He did not give it a shit and refused to spend 5 min to come and listen.
