I came here with a friend who lives nearby for a late afternoon lunch. The place is similar to other Shake Shacks in that it's casual modern with hip music playing. We ordered at the cashier and the food came out pretty quickly. My shackburger, cheese fries, and chocolate shake were excellent.
I ordered the ShackBurger and the Stuffed Mushroom Burger. The ShackBurger was good--juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you expect from Shake Shack. No complaints there. The Stuffed Mushroom Burger was my first time trying it, and it was pretty good overall. The flavor was solid, but it was smaller than I expected, and all the cheese burst out the back of the mushroom and into the paper bag, which made it a bit messy and less enjoyable by the end. For two burgers and a Diet Coke, the total came out to about $30, which felt pretty steep for what you get. The food was good, but not quite good enough to justify the price. Overall, a decent experience, but the value doesn't fully match the cost.
My sister was still craving a good burger and we decided to give Shake Shack Ice Blocks a try. It popped up on our search in the Yelp app. Parking is very limited in front since there is plenty of shopping and other eateries nearby. We walked into a busy restaurant. The employees were working hard and fast. I decided to order from one of the four kiosks located at the entrance. We both ordered The Big Shack. It was a double party with double cheese, produce, and sauce. I didn't realize there was an extra bun in between it all. My sisters burger didn't have any produce. We also ordered a side of fries and a side of onion rings. It was just around 10 minutes and a nice employee brought our food to the outdoor seating area where my sister was sitting. The burgers were served inside boxes. We opened them up right away and I took pictures. These burgers were so soggy and sloppy. Even my sisters burger without the produce was soggy. It felt disgusting to eat. It kept falling apart. I even took that extra slice of bread out of the middle and put it on the bottom but it didn't help. It looked like it was toasted, maybe in grease? ... each bite was miserable and kept sliding apart from the whole structure. As soon as I started, I just wanted to be done eating it. The fries and battered onion rings were good. I wish my sister and I shared a huge tray of just those. I'm thinking that having these burgers served in boxes created too much condensation. Combined with toppings (I had toppings, but my sister didn't) and the amount of sauce all piled on this flimsy bun created a disappointing combination of what they called a burger. I have had better meals at the Shake Shack in Roseville at the Galleria Mall and in Las Vegas... so I'm guessing operational error?

The entire complex of the ice blocks is stunning and they have a lot of really fun things to offer business wise. Let's get back to the review of the burgers though. Whenever I'm looking for a good Smashburger, I think Shake Shack has one of the best options in the game for fast food. The quality of all of the ingredients is superb and you taste it with every bite. I always get the smokehouse burger and it comes with the cherry peppers and it is so spicy and yummy. The bun at Shake Shack is probably one of my favorite fast food burger buns as well too. It is so buttery and soft and just phenomenal. The staff here is always very nice and they go above and beyond to make sure that you have what you need even once you sit down at your table they even hook it up with things every now and then. Sometimes the inside can be a little dirty, but I know they really try their hardest cause they are very busy. If you were in the downtown Sacramento area and looking for a good burger this is not only a good option. It is a great option!
Ordered the big shack $13, onion rings $7, and a toffee shake $8 for delivery. The big shack ($13) was delicious. I love that they don't just include a bunch of meat and cheese, but also onion, tomato, and pickle. It was so hearty I didn't finish it. Meat was cooked perfectly so that it was still moist. Also, and most importantly, they butter and grill the bread! Onion rings ($7) were disappointing. For the price I would've assumed I got more than 5. Lightly breaded which I appreciate. But definitely not worth the price. Shake ($8) was great. Had little chunks and everything.
Wanted to try their dubai chocolate pistachio shake since I've been obsessed with dubai chocolate! The first time I stopped by, they were out of the shake as I was told by an employee that they only make 50 of the dubai chocolate pistachio shake per day. I came back again on a weekday around noon and was so glad they still had some! The shake was good but slightly too sweet for my liking. I love that they lined the cup with a dark chocolate shell but I wished there were more chocolate pieces in the shake itself. Otherwise, it was a yummy drink! We also ordered their vegetarian burgers - 'shroom burger and veggie shack burger (double). They were delicious per usual! Fresh ingredients paired with beautiful layering. Love that they have vegetarian options! Will definitively be back when craving vegetarian burgers!

I've always liked Shake Shack and usually have good experiences, but unfortunately this visit was disappointing. I ordered a double ShackBurger (lettuce wrap) and when I opened it at home, the patties were very undercooked in the center. There were multiple areas that were still bright pink/raw (see photos). For ground beef, this is a food safety issue, especially for people with health conditions. I couldn't finish the meal. I'm not posting this to be negative -- just hoping management is aware so they can address it and make sure burgers are cooked thoroughly in the future. I'd still be open to giving this location another try if this gets corrected.
Food amazing and consistent, as always! Rich deliciousness when craving a burger. They keep the place nice and clean (restrooms). Rebecca was such a helpful and positive part of the experience too while taking our order and also bringing our order to the table. Come by when the craving hits- doesn't disappoint.
Living in New York City most of my life, I didn't have the same excitement when Shake Shack finally opened in Sacramento. I always remember Shake Shack as a hot dog cart in NYC and food was mediocre. Until one day, my son asked me to pick up Shake Shack for him. I'll have to say, I was shocked by their truffle burgers. It's not bad! The beef patty is juicy, good burger fixings and sauce is delicious. I was satisfied. The ice blocks location is great. Plenty of tables and seats inside and outside. You can order online in advance but if you have a special code (like BOGO) then you will have to order in the store using the kiosks. The service is quick. Even when they are busy, the wait is no more than 10 minutes. The staff is really nice and friendly. I'm always greeted.
Every Shake Shack I've been to before have been crowded, so I was quite surprised to find this location nearly empty on a Sunday! I was having trouble inputting the BOGO promo code for a SmokeShack (SPOOKY) on the kiosk, but the staff was kind enough to help me. All my burgers arrived promptly after ordering, and everything tasted great as usual!
I'm thankful Shake Shack has made itself at home at the Ice Blocks. Sacramento is packed with great options for burgers around town and sometimes you just have that certain craving that only some places can satisfy. This time that craving was Black truffle burger. I was really impressed with the flavor loaded in every bite. The patty was cooked perfectly. Aesthetically maybe she's a little sloppy looking but honestly I'm for it. I loved the Gruyère cheese to go with the black truffle. I got the garlic Parmesan topped fries because why not?? I've mostly gotten my food to go here and service has always been good and my order has been correct. It's a chill scene offering seating inside and outside on the blocks.
My daughter's favorite place for burgers. You can keep it simple with the shackburger or try really anything on the menu (every burger variant I've tried were all pretty good.) Today I tried their new BBQ boneless baby back rib burger. The meat was great but I would have preferred less sauce. Fries are always crispy and I love the cheese sauce in the side (fries don't get soggy). A tip: we always ask for extra lettuce on the side when we receive our order (they don't have an option on the ordering menu). read more

If I'm going here, I need to remember to only have a lettuce wrap with no bun, and have no sauce. The squishy bread ruins the whole burger :/ In-N-Out is better and closer, more convienient for me--and ok I'll say it--West Coast! I went again and tried the KBBQ burger. Pretty good yet I was disappointed how there was no lettuce. Good anyways! I also tried some onion rings with a friend and it was pretty big. The whole burger felt a bit heavy so I'm not sure when I'll return but it makes for fun bougie fast food in a nice midtown location! read more

Craving for a juicy burger so decided to visit Shake Shack. I've visited this Shake Shack Ice Block spot a few times before as well as spots in Las Vegas and Bay Area. Plenty of parking around the area and the place is very well maintained and organized. There are a couple of games inside including a foosball. Ordered a double ShackBurger, fries and a drink. Shake Shack did not disappoint! As always, the burger was juicy, tasty and delicious as expected! Definitely made up for a very disappointing recent experience at another burger joint. I don't usually eat fast food, but Shake Shack got me at Black Truffle. I ordered the single Black Truffle Burger with black truffle Parmesan fries, and they were so good! I was surprised by how much truffle was in the sauce. Will definitely come back for this burger. In addition, I came in on a Sunday and when you spend $10 or more, you can bring a friend to enjoy the Chicken Shack for free. Such a wonderful deal, I just cannot pass up. The Sunday deal is only good until 12/15/24, so you know where I'll be next Sunday. Give code "ChickenSunday" to the person at the register and they can enter the promo from their side for you. read more

I eat at this location quite often, and it's a great one! It's very spacious and clean inside with long tables good for bigger parties. The foosball table inside is a fun touch too. The four order kiosks are very useful. My order usually comes out quickly too. My Shack Stacks are consistently yummy and crunchy! The shroom burger alone is really good and flavorful even without the added meat patty. The milkshakes are also good too! I tried the limited banana pudding shake recently and it had really yummy banana flavor with crunchy crumbs inside. The new limited time only items are always quite good! (Also, this location is only a quick walk away from Salt n Straw, so it makes for a great ice cream dessert after my burger!!) read more

We stopped by Shake Shack after visiting the Sacramento Zoo--just about a 10-minute drive away. The location was beautiful, very clean, and not crowded at all, which made for a relaxing visit. Ordering was easy through the self-serve kiosk, and the food came out quickly. The burgers were great, just as expected! Unfortunately, the fries were cold and the milkshake had a bit of a strange taste this time around. It was my mom's first time trying Shake Shack, so she was a little disappointed--especially with the price and the fries--but she did enjoy her burger. I've had Shake Shack at other locations before, so I knew what to expect. read more
ight so i came here on black friday, cus i had work and was on my lunch break. i ordered the double shackburger and some fries. the total came out to over 15 bucks which is pretty steep i ain't even gonna lie. but really nice staff that was working at the front. fries were okay, nothing special about them. but paired with the sauce (not sure what the sauce is called), it tasted hella good. shake shack sauce is underrated fosho. and the burger was pretty damn good too. very flavorful and delicious. also the bun has a closed bottom so juices don't leak everywhere which is actually such a smart thing to do man. Reliable, Warm, and Customizable--Just Needs a Bit More Polish I've been to this location multiple times now, and I can confidently say the food is consistently solid. If you're looking for a place where the quality doesn't dip no matter how you customize your order, this is it. The kitchen executes well, and the staff--especially certain individuals--go out of their way to make the experience better than expected. Ordering & Service The process is primarily self-service: you either place your order through a counter cashier or use an iPad. It's efficient, and they've done a good job incorporating tech without losing the human touch. Once you've ordered, you get a text confirmation and a table number. From there, the staff still personally brings your food to the table after calling your name. It's a nice blend of convenience and hospitality. Customizability & Food Quality One of the biggest strengths here is how customizable everything is--and they actually get your order right. On this visit, we ordered: * Double Shack Burger (no Shack Sauce, no lettuce, no tomato, with pickle chips) * Single Shack Burger (no cheese, no Shack Sauce, with pickle chips and onions) * Chicken Shack Sandwich (no herb mayo, no shredded lettuce) * French Fries Everything came out as requested, hot, and well-prepared. The burgers were juicy, fries were crisp, and the overall flavors were balanced even without the sauces and extras we opted out of. There's a comfort in knowing you can tailor your order and still get something that tastes great. Timeliness Food came out in a reasonable timeframe. It wasn't busy, so it's hard to tell how it performs during a rush. Cleanliness & Atmosphere This is where there's room for improvement. The dining area itself is decent, but could use more consistent maintenance. Tables weren't being wiped down as frequently as they should, and the water/condiment station looked a bit untended. The restroom is for guests only (secured with a code), which is appreciated, but it was out of paper towels and slightly messy. Nothing deal-breaking, but noticeable if you're someone who values cleanliness like I do. Extras & Thoughtfulness They offer to-go cups for drinks, which is a small but appreciated gesture. I asked for ranch on the side, and it was surprisingly high-quality--definitely not your standard watery stuff. You can tell there's attention to ingredients, even in the condiments. Customer Service Kay deserves a special mention. He went above and beyond during our visit--helping behind the counter, delivering food, clearing tables, and checking in to see how we were doing. His energy was calm and genuinely caring. He made the experience feel personal and elevated what could have been a very average visit. People like him are the heart of any service-driven business. Final Thoughts This place delivers where it counts: good food, reliable quality, and a structure that makes sense. If they tighten up on cleanliness and table service maintenance, it would easily hit five stars. But even as it stands, it's a dependable spot with heart--and Kay's service left a lasting impression. Idk what to say. I ordered in the app and added pickled & onions and also clicked WELL DONE. By the time I got home and took a few bites I realized it was NOT well done but instead pink and the bacon was barely cooked. I also ordered cheese fries so unfortunately that's all I was able to eat. The last time I had this issue corporate made it right and the next time I went with the code they gave me and ate inside and the food was just right. I do not feel like driving back there I've had a long day so I just gave a little of the meat toy my dog and through the rest away. I would say don't their food to go!!! They clearly rush and don't make the to go food to order. Disappointing! I pretty much spent a few cents short of $20 for fries. read more

Friday, 4/12/2024 - We ate at Shake Shack for dinner. 1st time here. Address is 1710 R St, Ste 190, Sacramento, CA 95811 (Midtown). Thought we try a different burger place. Parking is limited. But we got parking right away since we came a little early. It's paid parking. So make sure you know your license plate. Upon arrival... Pros 1) they had a few different games in there to keep you entertained while waiting. 2) there were kiosks to order your own foods or you can go up to the cashier and order there too. 3) menus were nice and large posted on the wall next to self-order kiosks. 4) If you drink alcohol, there is a wine and beer menu. 5) there are seating outside and inside. 6) staffs were nice. 7) Cheese burger was good (i liked the ground beef), the Spicey Korean BBQ Cheese Fries were good, & hotdog was good. 8) they have a counter you can get water. Water tasted good. The ketchup, plastic utensils and napkins were on the same counter. 9) there was a little, cute art wall where people colored or drew something and was hung up. 10) it didn't take too long to get our foods. Cons 1) we tried to find a table to sit inside. 4 tables and all were dirty. So we went and sat outside. The outside table was clean. 2) Conclusion I liked this little burger place. They have a nice menu of selections. Lots of tables to sit indoor or outdoor. Foods were all good. I liked how the bun on the cheeseburger wasn't just all bread. It was a good blend. There's games to play with your group of people. I liked that you can order yourself at the self-ordering kiosks and take a number or go to the cashier and order that way. read more

She was so friendly and asked us how our meal was and offered to take our trays for us. She embodied nothing but kindness and light she was such a breath of fresh air to encounter. First time trying Shake Shack through Doordash, and it was OKAY. For now, that is..... I ordered two chickens sandwiches, a milkshake, and chocolate frozen custard. The chicken sandwiches are nothing to scream or write about in my opinion, I mean, it was hot and fresh, but there just wasn't any taste or flavor for me. I had to add my own sauces to make it taste worthy. And I had ordered a plain chicken shack for my brother, and for me, I ordered a chicken shack, and I added tomatoes, onions, and Shack Sauce. And it was just OKAY. Now that don't get me wrong, the frozen custard was SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD! It was THICK and CREAMY! You can totally tell the difference between that versus regular ice cream and frozen yogurt. It was thick and delicious. It took me a couple of days to eat that double scoop. But it was so worth it! The reason for 4 stars is because the food was hot and fresh, packaged well, and the frozen custard was just AMAZING! Next time, I will go in personally and have their burgers and fries, and we may just move up a star! ;0) read more

I've ordered through the app. It seems for the Sac location they don't let you look at the menu while they are not open or if they have too many pre-orders.
