If Licked isn't already on your must try list for Sac dessert, then better hop to it. I can always appreciate a dessert joint trying to push the envelope, especially in a market as saturated as ice cream. What sets Licked apart is they aren't trying to make themselves standout with flashy marketing or gimmicks. Like I've actually never seen or heard them on social media mention, which tbh maybe they should be working with someone who can help spread the word. Otherwise, how else will people know where they can eat out-of-the-box ice cream flavors with a temperature sensitive spoon (doesn't count as a gimmick, if it's genuinely cool). For how small of a space they're working with, they manage to cram a lot of options too for those seeking gluten or sugar free alternatives. So if you find yourself fed up waiting in a long line at an overrated "iCoNic" Sac ice cream establishment and want to support a small Oak Park business instead, Licked is only a 2 minute drive away, trust me you won't regret it!
After a nice dinner at Oaxaca, we decided to have dessert at Licked and it hit the spot. Susan, the owner, was working and she is always a delight. I've had the pleasure of chatting with her a few times at some vendor events. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is very small so outdoor seating is pretty much all they offer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were a little bummed some of their sundaes were unavailable but the selection of ice cream made up for it. I opted for a double scoop of the Superhuman and the blue moon, it was like fruit loops overload and I loved it. My husband decided on the coconut one and it tasted exactly like an almond joy bar. I'd much rather support this business and their yummy flavors over a BR any day!
What use to be an all dairy-free entity, is now chocked full of both options and unique flavors and many choices, even Ice cream nachos! from the friendly service to the rad options and deelish flavors, Lick will have you drooling and cooling down with their ice cream goodness. My dog and I stopped in during first Fridays and we shared the passionfruit. It was so pure and clean, refreshing too. The color changing spoons were super fun, it's all about the details! We are excited to visit again for more vegan flavors, some ice cream Nachos, and the Pup-cup to-go option.
I mainly came here because they have pup cups of frozen yogurt. My dog loves it! The ice cream is not bad, most flavors I tried are a bit too sweet but I ended up getting one that had caramel and some bits in it. Cool location though, they have a nice ice cream sculpture on the corner of the block!
I absolutely loved this place! The ice cream was delicious, and the owner was so kind and welcoming... the kind of energy that makes you instantly feel good about supporting a local spot. I especially love that it's LGBTQ-owned and like so many of my favorite LGBTQ-owned businesses, it's full of personality, creativity, and the friendliest people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the giant ice cream statue out front to the awesome wall art inside, the whole vibe is fun, vibrant, and totally unique.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed my ice cream so much that I couldn't leave without ordering a second one to take home! If you're looking for a great local ice cream spot with heart, flavor, and major charm, don't skip this place! You'll leave with a smile (and probably a second scoop).

Came across this place in Oak Park and wanted to check it out! I believe this place has rotated through several creameries, so I hope this one lasts. The staff was incredibly friendly and allowed us to try many different flavors. We ultimately settled on the Fat Elvis, a banana ice cream with chunks of peanut butter and chocolate. Super unique and great flavor! The prices are also quite fair. There are a few places to sit outside and a bar seating inside. Overall, this seems like a very family friendly place! A quick shout out to the color changing spoons. Those are super fun and I definitely took mine home to wash it and reuse. :)
The most amazing color changing spoons have never seen anything like it. It was amazing to see super kid, friendly my nephews enjoyed it. Ice cream tasted incredible and staff was super friendly ! Free scoop for Mother's Day, which I found to be super kind of them
We ate dinner up the street and took the chance on taking a walk (hoping for some dessert!) and came across this gem of an ice cream spot. The gentleman working behind the counter was very nice and the icecream was delicious! We had the peanut butter/ cookie dough, apple cider donut, and black cherry... [[HIGHLIGHT]]we enjoyed them on their cute little patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Licked is located in Oak Park, not too far away from a lot of amazing resturants. There isn't a parking lot but there is some street parking not too far off. When entering the store, it was a very colory vibe and decor! They also had nice outdoor seating with string lights! The staff was very friendly and we were able to let us try a few flavors. I ended up getting the Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, which is a rasberry and cherry cake flavor! If I am in the area, I would definitely be open to come back! Whats cool as well is that they have rotating flavors so I hope I get to try something else unique next time!
I wish I could rate Licked a 20/5! I've stopped by twice now and each time the service has been just so wonderful. The owner has to be one of my favorite persons I've ever met - super nice, informative (told us all about the flavors), and so hilarious. I stopped by after work with my coworkers to get something to cool down with and distress after a long work week. I got the matcha ice cream (not pictured) and it was so good! I also tried a sample of the vanilla and espresso ice cream which I am definitely going back for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop doesn't have a lot of seating and it is a bit small so it does get crowded when it's busy but there's plenty of seating outside which was fine by us because we got to enjoy our ice cream and people watch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also really liked how reasonably priced everything was - I will definitely be back!

I attempted on two different visits to try their vegan ice cream and not some fruity sorbet. Both times all they had was boring vanilla. The cashier sympathized, laughing about how she could try to zhuzh it up into a kind of sundae, so I gave it a shot. Licked unfortunately doesn't carry a non-dairy option for whipped cream though. The ice cream itself was decent in texture, but overall the $8 sundae felt mediocre and overpriced. Weeks later on my second visit where vanilla was again the only vegan ice cream option I just walked out. The place is cute and the service is friendly, but Licked is clearly more for dairy-loving folks. If you're looking for terrific vegan options, I would highly recommend going to Yume Gelato in East Sac instead. They have many vegan options and the selection actually rotates!

Licked has been a regular spot for us since they first opened and I was so sad to hear they'll be closing at the end of July. If you have the opportunity to go before they close you should. They offer scoops of ice cream, including some fun and unique flavors you won't find elsewhere. You can also order the ice cream as a sundae or a shake, or even a float combined with soda. I love all of the flavors, but the rainbow sherbet and chocolate flavors are always a favorite. On our recent visit they had a fun blue pop rock flavor and a mango sorbet, along with a delicious caramel ice cream. You can't go wrong with any of them. Since they're closing soon they are running out of certain flavors, so stop by quickly and don't be afraid to buy an extra cup to put in the freezer. We ended up leaving with extra rainbow sherbet, caramel, cookie dough, and pop rocks to put in our freezer at home and we'll be stopping in at least one more time before they close. read more

After having a nice dinner with a fellow Yelp friend, we both concluded that even though we were somewhat already full and satisfied, we still had this urge to top off the evening with a dessert! That's when my dinner companion Bridget W., (who is a strict vegan), recommended that we try this cute little ice cream shop that she had previously been reading about, with all of their positive Yelp reviews. "Licked" is located downtown in an old neighborhood on the corner of Broadway and 34th Street. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a very sweet and helpful young lady. This ice cream and Italian Ice shop specializes in not only dairy, but in non-dairy, gluten free, sugar free and vegan options! I was amazed at the varieties of flavors available! (16 to be exact). The viewing case made decision making difficult! Eventually we narrowed our choices down. Bridget ordered a Vegan Vanilla Sundae, while I ordered the Sacra "Mint" O Sundae, which included brownie bites, hot fudge, whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. This was one of the best ice cream concoctions I have had in a really long time! Just the right amount of richness and sweetness in every mouthful! Luckily, we had arrived at a good time, because after we sat down outside on the sidewalk patio to enjoy our desserts, several customers showed up and the shop became very busy. Apparently, I was jokingly singled out by some of the patrons for eating the rest of the chocolate chip mint ice cream that had been available for that evening! LOL! Charming little ice cream spot right on Broadway - staff was helpful and let us sample any flavor. Variety of unique flavors. There's not a lot of indoor seating, but plenty of patio seating outside, perfect for a sunset ice cream outing. We got the strawberry hibiscus italian ice - perfectly fruity and tart. We also got the butter pecan which was a good balance of sweet and creamy with good chunks of pecans. read more

This weekend while in Sacramento for one of my kiddos baseball game . We went and explored after the game was over. I always like to go to Strapping store it's so fun . Once there the friendly owner told me about Licked across the street apparently she owns Licked as well as strapping. I had to check it out . I'm so glad I did the staff was so friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has the same vibes as Strapping.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside was really cute with a big ice cream cone sculpture outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It also has a pull up window . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is small but cute[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . They have complementary water inside. They also have pup ice cream how awesome is that ! The other thing I really enjoyed was the name of the ice creams. They are very fun and creative, but I can't expect less from Strapping and Licked I love the name choices .. They also have a shirt for purchase that says I got licked in Sacramento let me say genius .. haha my son and I had a lot of fun . The ice cream was really delicious. We would definitely stop by when we are in the area again. read more

Super cute and quaint ice cream shop with fun and unique flavors. I wanted to try them all! Of the flavors I did try, they were all on point, yummy! The person who served me was also really nice and friendly, not to mention patient, as I was asking about the different flavors and too blind to see the descriptions were right in front of me *facepalm*. This place gives me an old school ice cream shop vibe mixed with modern cute decor. Definitely recommend giving them a try! There is a little bit of outdoor seating (no indoor) and street parking. read more

We needed dessert after dinner last night and decided to check out Licked! Located in Oak Park across the street from Strapping which is also the same owner! There are no seats inside, you order at the counter and then you can enjoy your sweet treat at one of their outdoor tables - they even have a bar area that looks into the ice cream shop that you can sit at. We ordered a scoop of Kitty Kitty Bang Bang (cheesecake, raspberry) and a scoop of Fat Elvis (banana, PB). One thing about me, I love unique ice cream flavors so I was very excited to visit last night and sample a few different flavors. They were all tasty and I had a hard time choosing! They also offer cold brew coffee and non-dairy, gluten-free & sugar-free ice cream options as well. It's a very cute shop - they even have a small merch area too! Staff was friendly and patient while we made our ice cream flavor decisions. I will be back very soon to try more flavors! read more

Cutest ice cream shop in Sac rn! FOOD: I tried the sour watermelon sorbet and omg boy was it delicious. The description said it tastes like a Jolly Rancher, which was 100% accurate! So light and refreshing! SERVICE: The staff was nice and helpful! AMBIANCE: Just walking into this shop made me instantly happy! The decor is thoughtful and beyond cute! Licking good ice cream! What a perfect corner shop for ice-cream in the hip Oak Park neighborhood. This trendy spot has a rotating menu of fun high quality flavors with fun names like "fat Elvis" and "iced latte-da". My fave was brownie cascade. Milkshakes are available too, as well as some fun kitschy trinkets (this place is owned by the best gift shop in Sac: Strapping) Relax in the comfy chairs out front and enjoy some delicious ice cream at Licked! read more

Licked is the new, cute ice cream shop in Oak Park, by the same owner of Strapping. We came on a Saturday afternoon with excellent weather and the store smelled so good (they were making waffle cones)! There were a few people in line and only one worker, but the wait wasn't too bad. I ordered the Iced Latte (espresso ice cream with fudge swirls and chocolate chunks) and Mint N Chip in a waffle cone. The ice cream was very enjoyable and the waffle cone was a nice addition. They have some unique flavors with fun names like Fat Elvis, which was banana ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate. I sampled Fat Elvis and he was good! The two others ordered the Fat Elvis and like it. Licked has nice pink decor, cute signs and cute merchandise. They have outdoor seating only and the seating is a little flimsy (plastic chairs and wobbly plastic tables). Service was very nice. The female worker was friendly and had a positive attitude. The price for a single scoop was $4.95 and the waffle cone was $1.25. You can get up to 2 flavors for a single scoop, no extra charge. Their menu also indicates dietary preferences such as gluten free, vegan, or nuts. Licked is a fun, dog-friendly little shop to get ice cream in Oak Park in Sacramento. read more

Licked is the perfect summer addition to our Oak Park community! This is a newly opened ice cream shop by the owners of Strapping, which comes through with Licked's interior design. I have been there twice since their opening last weekend, and I will definitely be coming back over the summer! Licked has a wonderful selection of flavors to fit everyone's preference. I tried the "This Shit is Serious," which is a caramel ice cream with cashews and ribbons of fudge. I am not a huge caramel fan, but I loved this ice cream. We also tried the Birthday Cake and Mint Chip, which were both delicious classics. The ice cream is not made at the shop, but it is so fresh! I recommend getting one of their homemade waffle cone or bowls because they make them in-house. I think that Licked will be giving Gunther's some healthy competition in the area! Some general information, their hours are Monday- Thursday 12-8pm, Friday & Saturday 12-9, and Sunday 11-7pm. They have plenty of outdoor seating to hangout with friends while enjoying the nice weather! read more

As someone who loves dark chocolate, I am so glad that they have a dark chocolate flavor - Zanzibar chocolate! It was so creamy and rich! My favorite! We also got their ultimate oreo which is their cookies and creme. It was really good too! Will definitely be back to try their other flavors! read more
