It's really not much of a grocery store for me, but they offer home cooked hot Dominican food. It's take out only. The ambiance.....well, there is none and it's not fancy but they did offer a lot of interesting hot food. I have so far tried their soup which was a stick to your rib type of soup. This soup had everything in it literally, beef, pork, chicken, plantains, yucca, etc. This was really a tasty hearty soup. I would label it as a cold day winter soup. I ordered some chicharron type of stew that was cut up and cooked in a tangy red pepper type of sauce ladled over white rice. It was really good. It's a plate I would order again. I have also ordered their pork with chick peas with rice and beans. I enjoyed that one too. So far I haven't had anything I didn't like. They offer an array of stews, baked chicken plates, empanadas, plantains plus more. It's different everyday. They do have decent choices. When I went there everything looked fresh and bright. I went around 11:00a just before the lunch crowd. I asked the person who was serving the food who cooked it and he said his mother did. So in actuality I am able to enjoy his mother's cooking . I am always on a quest to look for really delicious home cooked food in the neighborhood and I feel that I found one.

In the league…read moreof bodegas, this place stands out in a few ways - first off, it is within the Hispanic neighborhood of Elmhurst and the ownership reflects this as well as the homemade products in the fridge and the case of Latin pastries including concha's which yes you can put your bodega sandwich on I opted for the chopped cheese on chocolate concha which was quite tasty, though as someone who didn't grow up with chopped cheeses despite being from NYC I don't think I need to have it again (or any chopped cheese really) but it was really cool to get it on the concha. The homemade agua fresca (lime cucumber) was refreshingly delicious and their homemade guacamole was delicious too! I didn't opt for their homemade chips, wish I did. All in all, a quintessentially New York place that I hope lives forever. Yes I did buy myself a bottle of salsa verde to bring home at the same time while waiting for my food. Places like this are the beauty of what makes NYC, and queens specifically, like no other place in the world.

It was just I can't even get over how bad this was and it was my last morning in New York and to go to New York and not get an egg sandwich should be a sin but to get an egg sandwich that was this horrible.
