I have been here for a wedding and for a cancer event and both times it has been a wonderful experience. It's a beautiful farm, the staff is amazing & service was excellent!

I got married here May 5, 2019, and I don't have enough words in my vocabulary to describe my experience. The team at Shady Wagon Farm made my day everything that I had always dreamed of and more. Monica was my day-of coordinator and she made all of my visions come to life and executed everything even better than I could describe to her. We picked this venue not only for its beauty by looking at it, but because of the welcoming atmosphere from the second we toured. There was no pressure to pick them, but still treated us as if we'd already signed the contract. We even rode around on the golf cart and my son, who was two at the time, was so intrigued by the ducks and goose on the property, that they took us to see them up close. We were thrilled! The day of my wedding, all I did was show up and get ready, and everything beyond that was handled by SW. As a hairstylist who has done weddings for years, I was fully expecting to be super stressed, and I felt nothing but peace and excitement all day long! It even rained on my wedding day, and most of the time that would be a bad thing, but the "plan b" option was just as beautiful as out by the pond. The team flipped the ceremony from outside to under the overhang behind the barn in a timely manner, and again, made it stress-free for me! As a little girl I always said I wanted to get married in a red barn, and Shady Wagon (and the rain) made that happen! If you're on the fence about Shady Wagon Farm, don't be. Just do it! Even three years past my wedding day, I still keep in touch with the family and they truly are the best people ever.

If your type is big, strong and handsome [BUILDINGS!], Full Frame Theater's Boiler Room has YOUR name all over it (him? her?). This incredible space welcomes guests entering Full Frame Theater, as well as sometimes its neighbor, The Power Plant Gallery. It's a VERY unique event venue flanked by mammoth coal-fired boilers that were used in the original building. You can admire the elevator shaft to the right of the front door, or envision the unseen inside (but very visible outside) base of the Lucky Strike smokestack which The Boiler Room "horeshoes" around. Enormous windows, concrete floors and brick walls give this space the perfect impression for any event [can I plan my next birthday party here?!] No space has ever scream contemporary meets historic so clearly! Plus, doors are open 9am-midnight, SEVEN days a week, so there truly is no reason to miss this drool-worthy space. Secret tip: it's air-conditioned and they've got tall-topped tables and chairs inside along the massive windows. This would be the perfect get-away from the office or {indoor} picnic lunch spot.

Planning couldn't have been easier- our coordinator was very easy to reach and always quick with an answer with any questions we had. The venue is charming and the roof top view is stunning. We chose to have a "Before They Say I Do BBQ" and the deck provided a nice space to set up stations for our caterer. The list of vendors provided by Empire Eats made providing linens and any items needed easy to set up. The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. Be sure to ask in advance for a cart and it will be provided. Also, if you're having a summer event, know that it can be very hot. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

They even had a alpaca in a top hat - hard to beat that! However, the thing that stood out most was the genuinely caring staff. I'm embarrassed to say I had a little to much to drink that evening but without going into too much graphic detail I will just say that the staff went above and beyond to make sure I got back to my hotel safely. They even drove me back in their own vehicles and made a point to text my fiance in order to check up on me the next day. I would highly recommend this venue for all your event needs, you and your guests will definitely be in great hands.

Even the rain on the rooftop added to the atmosphere. You are such a talented, sweet, genuine person and it was my pleasure meeting you! You are the best at putting people at ease. The "Wedding and Reception" were like a fairytale, more beautiful than words can describe. The lightning made it look magical! I highly recommend Chapel Hill Carriage House. My family thought it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever been to and we have had many beautiful weddings at our family home on the Pamilico River! Best regards, Fran
