The two individuals managing the venue seem to find any excuse to withhold it. I suspect they operate a small scam, with one playing the "good cop" and the other the "bad cop." For instance, one may verbally assure you that bringing items like finger foods, cookies, or cheese is permissible. However, once you do so, you're informed that you've violated the contract because the permission wasn't in writing, breaching their strict "rules." Additionally, if someone steps out to their car to smoke a cigarette, one of the managers may follow them, take photos, and use this as grounds to withhold the deposit. $1000 I'm assuming they split it 50/50 between themselves. Or maybe get some type of bonus. Well fellas I hope a little thing called karma bites yall where God split yall.

Once they called me back it took days to get an estimate. In the meantime I found Triangle Sound Service. Brooks called me back quickly like within 20-30 min. He asked me a few questions about the event, the DJ equipment and desired set up and I had an estimate 10 min later. The day of the event, he confirmed again, showed up at the time agreed. He set up the table & equipment and reviewed functioning with my DJ. He returned at the agreed pick up time as well. Everything went perfectly.

I also appreciated her thorough follow-ups ensuring that I receive the contract on time, letting me know when she was going to charge my credit card and following up with a floor plan for the event. She is obviously an experienced event manager as she had great suggestions for our event. It's a flexible venue and it's nice that you can rent tables, chairs and linens directly through them. My only hangup was the price of linen rentals which were quite expensive (coming from a wedding planner in Hawaii). I also wish they had a vendor that rented out lounge furniture. Other than that, setup and cleanup were a breeze and they were so flexible with our caterer, Pierro's Italian Bistro, who was right next door. Our reunion went off without a hitch! Everyone had a great time and was pleasantly surprised by the venue since many of them had never been to the Rainbow Room before.
