Wow! This is so *cool - a legitimate ice-cream shop & so close to home!…read more We were greeted not only by an amazing aroma - but also by Sasha who helped us at the counter. They feature several different varieties of waffle cones, sugar cones and cups for ice cream. The cases were loaded with a wonderful selection of Umpqua Ice Cream, and they offer many toppings!

On 15/13/24, I stumbled upon Kalama Cone in Kalama, Washington. This is a a family owned business…read morethat opened August. 2023. The store features regional ice creams brands: Umpqua, Cascade Glacier, and Tillamook. They had 16 flavors including Old World Spumoni, Cranberry Cheesecake, Kona Coffee, Marionberry Pie, Maple Nut, and Huckleberry Heaven. I ordered a Kid's Cone of Old World Spumoni because it is a flavor that is hard to find. In fact, it had been decades since I last had it. The ice cream cone size was generous. This was my first time trying Umpqua Ice Cream. It was pretty good. The customer service from Michael was excellent! The store interior consists of two rooms and a window facing counter. There's also a bistro table outside. The tables and chairs were made by the owners. Whether you live nearby or are looking to take a break from highway driving, this is a nice stop. The ice cream is good, but not great. I wish they were selling Snoqualmie Ice Cream or Acme, both of which are made in Washington and are far superior to all three of the Oregon branded ice creams Kalama Cone sells. If I had an ice cream business, I would stay away from selling ice cream brands that can be found in most grocery stores. I say that as someone who drove an ice cream truck one summer. The items that sold best were those that weren't readily available elsewhere and cheaper to buy directly. I have pictures of the ice cream in the case, but I wasn't able to get a picture of my cone because I was traveling alone, my hands were full, and I didn't have a way to take a photo without risking dropping the ice cream. wow wow wow. i had…read morean early doctors appointment in the area and while i was there i looked up breakfast sandwiches near me. The Pie spot popped up and the reviews were great so i decided to head over to grab one. jackie helped me at the counter & they were so warm and friendly. they recommended the marionberry pie, it was delicious! i ordered the spam breakfast sandwich. it was pipping hot and absolutely insane. the housemade english muffin was soft & fluffy. the perfect vessel for a breakfast sandwich. the egg was perfectly cooked and topped with my fav, american cheese. the surprise was the outstanding sauce they put on it. holy smokes, it was DELICIOUS. super flavorful and complimented everything so nicely. i'm still thinking about how good it was. i got the s'mores pies and a peach pie along with the marionberry jackie recommended. the s'mores was truly exceptional, gimme 15 right now. my perfect dessert. i love the fruit pies as well. the peach was flavorful and the crust was perfectly flaky. the marionberry was delicious, flavorful and paired perfectly with a lil vanilla ice cream :) pricing is SO reasonable for portion sizes. the inside is small but there were plenty of seats while i was in there. parking can be a bit tricky but this place is WORTH IT. i truly can not wait to come back & grab a breakfast sandwich & some pies. The Pie Spot rocks so hard

Came here during my last two visits to Portland, and will keep coming back!…read more It's a small location next to a bagel shop, so this place can fill up quickly. The staff was friendly and were happy to answer our questions. I'm a huge fan of the breakfast sandwich with Spam. The bread was toasted perfectly, the American cheese was melted just right, and the house Hank's sauce took the whole sandwich up another notch. Definitely a solid way to start the day. I also enjoyed the Marionberry pie, which was a great sweet finish, but not too sweet. They have a ton of choices when it comes to both sweet and savory pies, so there's plenty to keep coming back for. Already looking forward to my next Portland visit so I can try some more!

But overall this was a pretty cool experience and we are all so glad that we stopped by here. We got a slice of pecan pie and coconut. There's a fridge right before the door and it is an honor system where you put the cash in this black box. The pies themselves were so so delicious!!! I don't really eat that much pie but I regretted only getting two slices of pie from The Pie Guy. Don't make the same mistake I did!
