This was my first eating Persian Food outside of the U.S. I can tell it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect and yummy. I ordered Koobideh Kabab, it was perfectly made, it was juicy and flavorful. Salad and yogurt were great too. Yogurt drink was tasty and tasted fresh. Reza owner of the restaurant was outstanding. He took great care of the customers and was taking orders. He provided excellent and outstanding customer service. Everyone in this restaurant was friendly and nice. They were very welcoming. This location has a lovely and calming ambiance. It is nicely decorated it gives positive vibes the minute you walk in. I had a great experience in this restaurant. The servers were rude, awkward, and cold, almost as if they were from another, unpleasant planet. The food was disappointing for the price--and you would only call it good if you had never experienced great Persian food. The tiny tables in such a cramped space made dining uncomfortable, and the owner seemed completely indifferent to the lack of space. We paid €130 for three persons for a very bad meal. It was a total disappointment for us. This place really sucks. Just forget it.

The interior is modern and clean. The ambiance is welcoming and bright. Service was also very good with knowledgeable waiters. Their menu includes several uncommon items including torsh kabab which I ordered and enjoyed. Ghormeh sabzi and gheymeh bademjun were both very, very good. We ordered the salmon as well which was an abundant portion and very tasty. Desserts were great. We ordered Persian ice cream and faloodeh. Perhaps the most impressive element of all was the doogh. It was the best I've ever tasted. I'm picky about doogh. This was thick, perfectly seasoned, and just outstanding. Be sure not to overlook it. As a Californian Iranian-American, I was surprised to find such delicious Persian food in Paris, but maybe I shouldn't be. Bravo! read more

Wow what a pleasant surprise! I usually try to go to at least one Persian restaurant wherever we travel to, and Shabestan is definitely in the A+ category with not many others. I had the Mirza Qasemi and salad Shirazi appetizer. Both were great. Kudos to them for properly smoking the eggplant, a step that most restaurants skip but has a huge impact on the overall flavor and smell of the dish. It was served with Barbari bread. For entree I had the makhsoos (or something like that) which was basically a skewer of chenjeh (filet pieces) and koubideh (ground beef/lamb). Both tasted great and were tender and juicy. Served with saffron rice and a grilled tomato. It's become very popular in the US to serve tahdig (crispy rice) with different stews on top as an appetizer. I hope they add that to their menu here, it so hard to decide between kabob and khoresht (stew) and a khoresht appetizer is the perfect answer to that dilemma! read more

One of the best Persian restaurants I have ever been to - their koobideh especially is some of the best kabab I have ever had! I really liked that they had some traditional, home made dishes you don't typically get at a persian restaurant like kookoo sabzi and salad olovieh.
