In the 4 months, Sonya did not do anything except e-mail some venue options. I found Sonya to be highly unprofessional and dishonest. Sonya does not communicate and kept making excuses for not being able to accomplish any tasks. I got frustrated with her lack of progress and started planning my own wedding. It took me only 3 weeks to tour multiple venues and book one. Sonya would send me venue options via e-mail but never followed up or scheduled tours. She blamed the venues and claimed they were not responding to her. Weeks would go by and I would hear nothing from her. I checked up on her every 2-3 weeks to even get any information. After 3 months, she calls me saying she found a venue. She tells me it is within my budget and allows outside catering. She askes me to send me my availability to schedule a in-person tour. I send her my schedule and don't hear anything back. Two weeks later I call her and ask what happened. She again makes excuses that the venue isn't responding, etc. A few days later she e-mails me a contract for the venue with no information except the attached contract. The contract did NOT match anything Sonya told me over the phone. It was double the cost and did not allow for outside catering. I asked Sonya and she said it was just an "example" of a contract for me to see (what?) and that she will work it out with the vendor. Guess what? Never heard from Sonya again about this venue. We communicated to Sonya about our concerns with her work she never addressed them. I got frustrated and decided to contact venues on my own. In two weeks, I set MULTIPLE in-person venue tours and within 3 weeks I secured a venue that was within my budget and had flexible catering options. I fired Sonya after that. I did not have any issues contacting venues or hearing back from them. Sonya was being dishonest. I asked her to refund my deposit and she has not. I have filed a formal complaint to the BBB. Because of Sonya wasting 4 months, I was not able to secure the date I wanted. TLDR - Sonya took our deposit and accomplished nothing for 4 months. She barely communicated and she did, it was constant empty excuses and lies. She has refused to refund us. Because of her negligence I was not able to get the date I wanted at my venue.

Sonya was kind, understanding, helped me find vendors, created my wedding timeline, ran errands, and so much more. Everything was so easy from the beginning. She is also incredibly creative, energetic, and will go out of her way for you. I don't know what we would have done without her!

Although we booked the venue a year in advance, it was difficult to encourage classmates to purchase tickets that far in advance so we were limited with how much we could use as a deposit, coming out of our own pockets. As the date neared, we realized we may need to use a smaller room than originally anticipated. We even had some thoughts of canceling entirely. Ultimately, we reserved the venue for 120 people and it was beautiful. A time was had by all and people are still talking about it a week later. We only had one bartender for the night, but I felt that he kept up well with the drinks. The food was surprisingly delicious. We had a chicken option and roast beef option buffet style. The space was nice and when I got there an hour early to finish setting up, the tables were set, waters poured, etc. However, Aamit really deserves a special shout out. I know there were certain upgrades (like the gold chairs) that he gave our group for free. Although it was a bumpy process for us in collecting the funds we needed to have the reunion, Aamit was patient and ensured that we were able to have the awesome reunion we wanted.

We booked the place for 120 guests, while only 114 attended they ran out of food. Food buffet was not monitored and replenished and when we asked to replenish, the staff behavior was totally unprofessional and said they cannot do anything as chef was gone for the day. After seeking help from management there was an attempt to "patch up" by mixing frozen food etc. and by the time food came the guests were not in mood anymore. After the event the hotel management (Mr. Jain) asked for feedback. While the feedback was given, there was no acknowledgement, no apology and no remedy. Totally disappointed with staff behavior and management's attitude. I will not host event here again because of their attitude!

To start, they are extremely rigid with their list of "preferred vendors," and despite claiming to have great relationships with them, it quickly became clear those relationships are more about kickbacks than quality coordination. The tent vendor situation was particularly frustrating. I was pushed to use their recommended provider, only to find out -- too late -- that the venue had no clue about that vendor's logistical requirements. Despite repeatedly telling them that I was planning an outdoor reception, they gave me a laughably short two-hour setup window, expecting a tent, full décor, catering, and everything else to be ready in that time. Totally unrealistic. They eventually allowed just the tent to be set up earlier. Worse, the staff seemed to have no shared understanding of the venue's rules. I have emails where different team members contradict each other -- on major things like setup times and allowed equipment. And don't get me started on the DJ and music restrictions. They stressed everything had to be battery-operated, yet still managed to ban battery-operated sparklers for being a fire hazard? It just didn't make any sense. Communication was also a nightmare. I called multiple times about different issues such as renting heaters -- no answer. I would try to call during work hours. Emails are the only form of communication they respond to. Then on the day of the wedding, they emailed me saying they turned the heaters away. During the event, things only got worse. We had a mariachi singer (not a full band) performing at 6 p.m. on Memorial Day weekend, and were repeatedly harassed by staff about noise complaints -- even during speeches. Yes, the manager literally came up to me, the bride, mid-speech, to tell me neighbors were threatening to call the police. I kept wondering, is this their first wedding ever? The mic wasn't even loud. The venue could be great -- but only for small, intimate weddings, maybe under 60 guests. Anything larger becomes way too complicated. The interior lacks a proper dance floor, and their "ideal flow" of food inside/dancing outside doesn't really work. You'll spend the whole night shuffling people and plates. Constructive feedback: Train your staff consistently so they all understand -- and communicate -- the same rules. Be upfront about what's feasible for outdoor events. And if you're going to force couples into using preferred vendors, at least be informed about what those vendors need. In short: gorgeous place, but unless your wedding is small and you're okay following their every (often unclear) rule, be prepared for a bumpy ride. I did love my wedding, but be mindful it costs me way more (outside vendors, additional hours) to put it together. I lost lots of items in their lightning speed clean up requirement.

Working with Anu, Rekha and Kaytlyn helped us make our dream wedding come to reality! My husband and I were planning our wedding while living out of state and the amount of coordination they offered was outstanding. We were in regular correspondence with the team through emails and monthly/weekly conference calls. Despite my busy work schedule, with their help, I was able to stick to the planning timeline without overwhelming stress. The day of services were impeccable. They were able to handle small hiccups and make sure the overall tone of the day was undisturbed. The ladies are very easy going, professional and well-versed in the field of event planning. Further, they are very knowledgeable about Hindu wedding customs which made the planning process that much easier. Last year I attended the Urban India Events Diwali Party held at Ashton place in Darien, IL. Upon…read morearrival, I was greeted at the door with a warm welcome by Urban India Events staff, which made me and my family feel very welcome. The banquet hall was beautifully decorated. There were exhibits displaying the cultural and religious meanings of Diwali and how the holiday is celebrated by different regions in India. It was evident that Urban India Events is familiar with numerous customs of the Indian culture. The children were all entertained with various activities. This allowed adults to either catch up with old friends or mingle with new acquaintances. The food was delicious! Urban India Events selected an excellent caterer and picked a menu that pleased the crowd. The entertainment started with a dance performed by all of the children. Next, a student Bollywood dance group from Northwestern University performed an excellent routine. All of the guests got into the performance and that kicked off the dancing portion of the evening. The DJ played a mix of Bollywood hits and urban songs that got everyone in the mood to dance. At the end of the evening, the owners of Urban India Events gave us framed pictures that were taken when we walked into the banquet hall. The next time I need to throw an event with an Indian influence, I'll be sure to contact Urban India Events.

The staff decided to take down table arrangements and all other decorations a solid hour and a half before the end of the event. They literally reached over guests conversing at tables to remove the center pieces. I could keep adding things which occurred but I think you get the overall incompetence and unprofessionalism of the evening When I spoke to management about my disappointment I was informed me that nothing they had done impacted my guests enjoyment and they did not understand why I felt they had not delivered what had been promise/presented at the tasting. They even tried to gaslight me that certain events had not occurred despite the fact that I had been there and witnessed them happening.
