Unfortunately the current management is lax and doesn't supervise the park. So unless a parent steps up to direct kids, a lot of children get into accidents. The owner has an anger problem. He loves to start arguments and pick fights with people. He seems to enjoy belittling people and bragging about how much money he spends. Because he is often smoking pot in his trailer, he sometimes yells at people using his trailer's PA system. As of writing, the photos shown on this yelp page are inaccurate. Signs everywhere saying you need to pay and have a helmet. I have come here dozens of times and shocked by people's behavior and then reactions when they get screamed at. People try to sue these types of places weekly and you wonder why they flop out when you walk right by a large sign...! The dirt park is pretty intense and it's rad to watch the guys shred. The paved pump tracks are awesome for all levels of biker and skater. I got to watch some 3-6 year old shred. Personally can spend a couple hours there easily and if it's slow all day as lines are endless. Sign a waiver and pay 5$ .... a coffee is more. I couldn't believe it was so cheap. They have board and bike rentals again 5$ per hr.

There are three large bars, so no problem getting a drink (you need one when you first get there) and two floors to dance, post up, or take pics with friends. No one gets tooooo creepy (we did catch one dude taking butt pics and he tried to say he was an 'official photographer'... which he wasn't), so as long as you're comfy in your own skin, no one will bother you. When it's time for the actual run (that's what you're there for, remember?) EVERYONE along the race path will stop to high five and cheer you on. I'm so glad I found this run because besides being a really cool route - running thru the Brooklyn battery tunnel (sorry, I'm old and still call it that) from red hook, Brooklyn - it also was the one of the most inspiring stories I had heard about 9/11. It commemorates the route from red hook to Manhattan an off duty firefighter took from the tunnel to the site of the towers, with all his gear on, after they'd closed the tunnel to traffic. Because of that it's a little longer than a 5k (I clocked 3.68 miles). Tons of firefighters and police run the race in uniform- it's an enormous race with 30000+ people, and there's also lots of regular people too running. As you come out of the tunnel, there's firefighters and military personnel holding up pictures of people who lost their lives and also cheering everyone on and high fiving you as you run by. It was kind of amazing and even though I didn't lose anyone on 9/11 its very emotional and makes you proud to be an American. They put on a huge street fair with a ton of food - burgers hot dogs ribs pizza donuts beer...and fruit too if you were trying to be healthy. A band I guess performed too. The line to take the wall st ferry to red hook was early (7:30 am cut off or so) and huge, even by 7 am when I was in line but it was an amazing race...i highly recommend!

On 9/11/01, Firefighter Siller was off duty when he responded to a radio alert that the WTC towers had been hit. Since he was not permitted to drive through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, he strapped his gear on and went to the WTC by foot. Unfortunately, he as well as the rest of his squad (Squad 1) all perished. Thus race is in honor the memory of all of those firefighters, police and EMS who perished on that day. This race was very well organized, well sponsored and was even televised on CBS. Gary Sinise as well as his band performed and former Mayor Giuliani started the race off. This was a very nice race and is for a good cause. Highly recommended.

Another review mentioned "grimy' which is the perfect description. A lot of the clientele is sketchy, too, and I would not feel safe alone. There were very limited food options. Our only choice was the Triple Crown Cafe, where we purchased hot dogs, and the Silks Bar for drinks. The seating area of the track is filthy and full of bird droppings. There was garbage stuck in the rails looking down onto the paddock, which had clearly been there for some time. We still had a great time and would definitely return, as shockingly, this is not the worst track we have visited. I hope they tear it down and rebuild like Belmont. There is so much wasted space and wasted potential.

You go online and register yourself at covid19screening.health.by.gov first. Then they call you to schedule a drive thru appt. You can call them too as well if it's urgent. Entrance for testing center is on rockaway blvd. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is being tested and has an appt. Drive in and let them know you have an appointment. Keep your drivers license on the dashboard and your windows up. You drive through a checkpoint where they will confirm your identity and appt. You'll then queue up to get tested. Once in the tent, they will check your drivers license again and then finally tell you to roll down your window halfway. The person testing you will swab your nostril for 10 seconds (feels longer sometimes). They then give you a card with instructions on getting results on bioreference.com. Your results should be ready in about a week. Good luck and stay safe everyone!

I even turned in my fastest competitive 10K time, ever. One of the downsides is the ever increasing overcrowding issue that plagues these runs. It's a little annoying to be bumped into by many people. Give me some space, man. Another issue (my take) is not having the first water station right after the 1 mile marker. I think this should be a must, especially during what is probably the hottest run of the year. But overall, I like this fast and mostly flat run. Glad I ran it today and did well.

You can take pictures and spend a little time inside the stadium and on the field! After the mets stadium you will find the Different stations of colors! You can actually play with them ! I stop and talk to the vendors and sponsors. They're wonderful taking my photo and giving me free samples. BUT, the best part is the music. I hear lots of bands and they always have a featured popular group perform after the race. It's a huge crowd making it necessary to keep up with each other's whereabouts by phone. In 2017 they also offered a 5 Miler in which I ran on October 14 the day before the half marathon. Shirt and bib number pickup was smooth and easy at the Javits Center. As I live in Manhattan it was a breeze to drop by on my way home from work and take care of this. Race day we needed to be up super early for a 7am start time at Grand Army Plaza. It was 60 degrees out and a bit humid but I like those running conditions. The race ended in Prospect Park. I saw plenty of water stops, medical tents and porta potties on the course, along with groups of spectators cheering us on. Race course was well marked, with event volunteers helping out and keeping an eye out on the participants. Sweet medal and goodie bag handed to us at the finish line. The post race party in the park featured a beer tent where the finishers were treated with free ice cold brews. Now that is how to celebrate a successful race finish! I thought the organization did a great job with this at the time. Too bad they did not come back to NY afterwards.
