Probably one of the best roast chicken I have ever tried. The meat is tender and perfectly spiced that gives a tangy flavor. The chimichurri it accompanies added balance to the dish. You can choose if you want to go with side dishes or not as it completes your meal. Something to come back for. For a side dish, I was contemplating if I should go for platacones or quesadilla, and ended ordering the former. Platacones are fried plantain chips. Theirs is salted and has a tomato relish dip. It was great at first as the salt balances the sweet plantains, but as you eat more, it gets saltier on each bite. Wished I ordered quesadillas instead. They have an open aired ground floor and a more spacious second floor. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable and provide excellent service. Price is affordable and worth the value.

Compared to me and my sister, my parents rarely get the chance to discover restaurants on their own. But on a faithful Friday night, I received a call from my dad telling me to wait up for them because they apparently brought a doggie bag home. And according to my good old man, it's some really delicious chicken. They definitely weren't kidding when they said that Senor Pollo was delicious. Senor Pollo is certainly one of my favorite restaurants in the cluster of Tomas Morato restaurants. My parents had the unfortunate experience of trying out Senor Pollo on their first week of operations, when their exhaust wasn't functioning properly and filled the entire eating area with smoke. Still, they enjoyed their meal with this unique style of poultry that brings out the best of Latin Chicken. Created by the same owners of El Chupacabra, Senor Pollo introduces Latin American food to the Filipino palette. This establishment remains my go-to spot for some irresistible chicken.

My friend and I decided to meet up in Tomas Morato after months of not seeing each other and the foodie in me asked if we could try this new place in F7 Rallos. I picked this place because I've been hearing a lot of how delicious their chicken is. When we arrived at the place, we immediately ordered downstairs (air-conditioned area is upstairs) We ordered their quarter chicken with 2 sides (P209) we chose patatas bravas and mac and cheese as side dishes. We also tried their grilled chicken quesadilla (P158) and ordered to glasses of Southern Iced tea (P69). All in all, I loved their food and the Latin American vibe of the place.

My curiosity sparked when my friend hyped this place up as the "Best Chicken ever" narrowly edging out Bon Chon by a hairline in her books. That might not sound much but I eventually tried Señor Pollo to give my own verdict. Boy was I impressed. What I tried: Buffalo chicken wings As a wing lover, these are to die for! While not exactly the biggest wings in town in terms of size, these babies sure pack a mean punch (read: in fuego). Be sure that a cerveza is within arms reach before you try these out. Hot hot hot! Fried Chicken Is definitely part of the best fried chicken ever category. The breading was immaculate and the chicken meat was tender and juicy. No need for gravy. Roast Chicken You can't top the fried chicken but the roasted variant is also good if you opt for a healthier substitute. The meat is also tender and moist, which is a plus as most roasted chicken are all pretty much dried inside. Bottomline: The appetizers are no slouch as well. I loved the Nachos and the wagyu bacon fries. While the food is the highlight, it's easy to mingle and make new friends given the setup of the restaurant. A few tequila shots and a couple of beers can also be a catalyst for an epic night in this place.

A friend of my Dad's recommended a restaurant to us the other day, knowing that we are always on the lookout for places to eat. We made our way to Tomas Morato from our errands and meetingsaround Quezon City and followed the directions he gave us. Finally, there we were at Señor Pollo. Now on to the food. My Dad and I got one order of half a roast chicken, which comes with two sidings and chimichurri. I chose to have their jalapeño mac n' cheese while my Dad got the fries. Despite being a bit dry in some parts, the chicken was delectable, especially with the chimichurri. Don't get me wrong, the chicken was good. However, the highlight of my evening was my siding. The jalapeño mac n' cheese was so good! It was very cheesy and because of the jalapeño, it had a kick. Will definitely be back to bring some friends over so I can share the pollo experience with them and make memories sipping their mojitos, which we were told is one of their best sellers.

The place looks good, it can be a narrow long diner but it' well lighted. So what I liked about this is that they give gloves for eating your wings. And also they offer chipotle rice! I love that rice. As for the price, I think they are pretty pricey for just small wings but I think it's with the ingredients they use. They are really flavorful and well I think they are peppery. It is self-service so when your buzzer lights up, you go and get your own food. They offer various side dishes too, most are fries. I didn't give them a 5 cause their drinks are all in can. They don't have iced tea which I want. Their meals don't go with free drinks, but water. And also their wings are small, I wish they're bigger.

Their wings come in all sorts of flavors so it's impossible not to find one that you like. There's Garlic Parmesan, Cajun, BBQ, Teriyaki and so much more! I suggest that you try the flavors with mild spiciness first so that you can adjust according to your preference the next time you visit. Also, go ahead and try their fries! It's packed with all kinds of herbs and spices, so even if you just nibble on it, you'll get a blast of flavor. In my opinion, it wouldn't hurt if they lessened the amount of salt in their food because I noticed that it's the taste that lingers the most. Overall, I wouldn't mind returning there to try out more of their wings!

CONS: Taste-wise, it's "Lasang Bonchon" but a little off - less crispy, less juicy, and less servings. But I suppose that's the feel that they were going for: somewhere unmistakably all-pinoy. For somewhere with that kind of vibe, this isn't the kind of place where you'd find the stereotypical adobo-sisig-bulalo combo because Manang's specializes in one thing: fried chicken. And pretty good fried chicken at that. Think of it as a local version of Bon Chon. I'm not kidding. From the soy garlic flavor profile to the sesame seeds, there's evident inspiration from Bon Chon at the very least. But if we can be perfectly honest here for a second, I'd prefer this place over Bon Chon for one simple reason: the flavor reaches the meat. My one problem with Bon Chon is that once the skin peels off, that's it. The meat's pretty bland. It's really meant to be eaten with the skin. Thankfully, Manang's doesn't have this problem. Even if the skin comes off, the meat underneat is still savory and tasty. It does get a little tough and chewy when reheated though. Manang's also boasts its own in-house potato chips which are served in place of fries. These chips are great. Thin, crisp... there's no MSG there, or at least I don't think there is. If you can find one, give it a try. Don't get turned off by the name. (Not to mention, they have this delectable thing called a brownie sundae. They also taste the same, though Manang's is a bit drier than Bon Chon - but their signature crispy skin and saucy coating are veritable carbon copies. You have a choice: you can eat here, or at Bon Chon. Doesn't really matter much which - but Manang's is a homegrown brand.

I consider Buffalo wings to be one of my favorite foods, so when someone declares this place to be one of the best wings in town, I had to find out for myself. As it was the one flavor that took the restaurant's name as its title, the Frankie's classic was definitely the better order of the two. (Of course, provided it's a not a weekend.) I always get the Classic Buffalo (spicy) with blue cheese dip, and ask for more blue cheese dips. (They charge extra). I like the chicken because of the way the skin has been cooked to a crisp, all the while keeping the meat rather tender; I think it's breaded. The sauce is spicy yet with just the right bite, meaning there is a dimension to the flavor and not just plain crazy-fiery. Like, I can still taste the butter and the vinegar all coming nicely together with the one-two punch of the hot sauce. Oh-yeah! The best part is you don't even have to worry about getting your hands dirty because they give away disposable gloves. To be honest, I don't really use it since I am used to working with utensils in dissecting my chicken, but I just think it's rather thoughtful of them. As my personal motto goes: it's the useless stuff that builds character.
