Chorizo chimichanga
Richa R.

Got this gigantic chimichanga and some other Mexican staples from local hidden gem Senor burrito! Descriptions as per their online menu: Camarones A La Diablo - Grilled marinated evil shrimps cooked in a cheesy creamy chipotle sauce served with beans, salad and two corn tortillas Pollo Con Mole - Tender chicken topped with rich mole sauce made from cocoa, peppers, nuts and spices. Served with a side of rice, beans and two corn tortillas You guys I've always wanted to try mole sauce, I could actually taste the cocoa in it !!!! Just the right amount and not too overpowering balanced out with nutty, spicey flavours as per the description above. Such a unique and cool flavour definitely a must try if you have never tried it before! The shrimps were super creamy just as promised and the burrito was sooo good and filling. From the minute I picked up my order the fragrance was tempting and I knew we were in for a treat! Some time did pass between picking up the order and us eating and for that reason the chimichanga was a bit soggy (totally on us lol) so I would recommend eating it hot as soon as you get it so you don't miss out on that amazing crispy goodness. Can't wait to go back and dine in soon in their super cute and authentic dining room. Check them out y'all!

Pallet booths with colander "chandeliers", creative!

Not sure how "authentic" a place is when the person, who appears to be the owner, isn't even from Mexico. Once you look passed the upcycled décor and Sirius FM channel reminiscent of being at an "All-Inclusive", there is no real ambiance. Aside from mi amiga y yo, the place was completely muerto. (I've been doing duolingo, can you tell??) Dishes rolled out in a reasonable rate, HOWEVER, they weren't hot! I'd say it was less than tepid, barely at room temp. It was a shame 'cause the flavours seemed there, but I was distracted by the lack of heat in my mouth. Burrito was quite BIG, but again, for $14...I wouldn't expect anything smaller than a premmie. Tacos (3/$13.99) were also less than room temp. The guy taking the order - owner? - could've been friendlier, more welcoming. He just came to take our order within a coupla mins of us sitting down. He also didn't take away our menus once he did take our order. Didn't really seem to be an experienced server. More like Senor Burri-NO wonder there's no other patrons here!

Salt and Pepper Shakers

Had bookmarked this place and as there was an occasion in the family, the three of us headed out to try this place out. The interior is quite interestingly done. The benches with tables, the decor on the tables, the salt and pepper shakers, the shades for the lights done with colander were nicely done. Started with Veggie Nachos - the chips nice and warm tasted fresh, the salsa home made fresh, the black beans and the refried beans, the cheese sauce were absolutely amazing. The quantity not so much. Wish they gave more for the price. Ordered a Veggie Chimichanga, a wet Veg Burrito and a veggie burrito. The Chimichanga deep fried was done perfectly, the fillings seasoned done just right. Not greasy at all. The wet Burrito and the Burrito even though on paper were the same tasted different and both were good! One had more rice and the other had more black beans. The fillings of rice, beans and salsa were as fresh as you can get. No doubt all of them made in house and with fresh ingredients. The Wet Burrito had a very small salad on the side and it tasted as good as the best salad we've had. The server was friendly and the service was one of the best we have had. The owner/chef had come out as well to clarify on a dish that we and the waitress thought was a mixup. But the mixup was not a mixup and by the time the chef came out we had figured it was an error on our part. However the chef, she was so soft spoken and calm. If you are looking for fresh food and good taste and quality-this is your place for Mexican food. Hope never close. Coming back soon.

Sangria with carnitas enchiladas

I tried out this restaurant be because it was right next to the Hampton Inn I was staying at. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the sangria which is made the right way- with wine and brandy! For dinner I had the carnitas enchilada. It was good. Nothing wrong with it but not the most amazing. I can't complain. For the price, this place is great. The decor is....interesting. Think- light fixtures made out of pallets and colanders .

chimichanga

Found this place online and through reviews. Visited here with a friend for Saturday lunch. Prices are ok and food is good (but could be hotter). We had a taco platter and chimichanga; both totaled about $35 before tax and gratuities. Not a busy restaurant but I think it may be because many don't know of it's existence. Restaurant is quite festive and has Mexican accents throughout to add to the ambiance.

Platter for 2

Oh Mexican! I can't believe there is an authentic Mexican place so close to home! PRICE: standard price ~$15-20 QUALITY: Not bad, we ordered a platter and my friend other another main dish. Size were good. We also got a few of the Mexican homemade drinks and those were served in a huge beer mugs! SERVICE: we came on a Saturday and there was only one server and we had to go up to the front to ask for plates. They definitely need more staffs. Good came relatively quickly ATMOSPHERE: very cute Mexican theme decoration. Interesting little booths OVERALL: the experience was great. The food wasn't to die for, but the overall experience was good.

Wet Burrito

My husband loves mexican!! I'm not a fan of Mexican food but this place may have changed my mind about it. The food was very fresh. Especially their guacamole! It's a small place but the staff was very nice. The food came in a timely manner and the waiter's recommendations were helpful. The decor was very nicely done and the Spanish music playing was very inviting. The overall ambience was nice. I had the wet burrito. The sauces and filling for the burrito were a great combination. The portions were quite large. I definitely recommend this place and will be going back.

Churros at Senor Burrito
Steph K.

Horchata, chimichanga, churros - we love our Mexican food. First, the horchata was great. Who doesn't want to drink sweetened milk with a dash of cinnamon? The portion is large, and the balance between the sweetness and creaminess was perfect. Definitely order this. Then we had the chimichanga, my husband ordered the chorizo chimichanga while I got the pastor chimichanga. Deep fried burritos are my favourite, but this one disappointed me. It was lukewarm, and lightly filled. there was more tortilla shell than stuffing. Not impressed. After the chimichanga we decided to get dessert because we were both still starving. For dessert, we had the churros. Those were warm and fresh. Definitely a worthy dessert. Overall, this place was just ok. There's not a lot of decent Mexican sit down places around - most places are take out only.

We have come here twice now, they are definitely the better place to go for burritos in Mississauga, because who wants to go to another typical chain. The burrito has been consistently good here - I got the veggie. The staff is nice and efficient, the prices are average. The first time we went they had their fresh tortilla and salsas out for you to try while waiting. This was great marketing and we ended up purchasing them after, so it was disappointing that they took it away! The need to bring that back. We will come back here, it's a great meal to fuel before a race. **UPDATE** I am unfortunately on here to lower the rating, I am not sure if they got new owners, or if the renovations have caused the changes but they have changed their ways. Not only do you no longer get nachos and salsa to taste while waiting, they don't let you add anything on your burrito other than what is 'standard'. Basically for my veggie it was rice, beans, friend onions, and sauce. No guac, no fresh veggies, no tomato etc... allowed. That is insane, this is a VEGGIE burrito, I am a vegetarian you cannot fool me into thinking it is expensive to offer some more vegetables on it. Pretty disappointing I really liked this place.

I tried a burrito here last week, and I won't be going anywhere else. Everything was amazingly fresh and the flavours really melted together nicely. The burritos are also really big so if you're hungry, that's a definite plus. It's family owned so the customer service is really friendly and welcoming, and they even put out samples of (homemade!) tostitos chips to try. If you're in the area, definitely try it. I loved it.

Outstanding homemade chips and salsa
Aileen B.

Señor Burrito interior is welcoming, from the Spanish music in the background, to the simple, yet appealing, lighting and tables. We started our meal with their outstanding homemade chips and salsa. This is some of the best salsa I've had in a long time. Next, I ordered three different kinds of tacos, and my daughter ordered a burrito bowl, which I got to polish off (it was too good to pass up). My daughter's chorizo burrito bowl is a perfect blending of complimentary ingredients and flavors, topped with homemade guacamole. ¡Fantastico My favorite of the night was the barbacoa taco. Hats off to the chef, because this is now the best flavored taco I have ever had, and I almost didn't order it because I'm usually not a fan of beef tacos. The meat is marinated, bursting with flavor, tender, and grilled to perfection. It marries beautifully with the salsa, tomatoes, and onions, with a squeeze of lime juice on top, all neatly placed in a homemade corn tortilla. ¡Excelente The chorizo taco is also full-flavored deliciousness. It has the same ingredients as the barbacoa taco, and is fantastico. I thought I would like the pastor taco best, but it's at the bottom of the list. It lacked pineapple, and the pork was a little too chewy for me, but this isn't to say it wasn't enjoyable, because it was. One of two suggestions to Señor Burrito is to double up on corn tortillas for their tacos. They are delicious, but fall apart too easily when not doubled up. I just dived in with a fork, but would have liked eating it the normal way. The next suggestion is just to bring your guests' check to the table, or Yelp then that you have it waiting at the counter. We waited for the waitress to bring ours for quite a while, until we figured she wasn't going to bring it, and went directly to the register to pay. I definitely recommend Señor Burrito.

The absolute best pastor tacos I had outside of Mexico. Pozole soup is also a must have! This is a great spot just off the QEW!

When I walked-in, there was a line-up of customers waiting to be served at the ordering counter. I took some time to look at the menu while I was waiting in the line. The line went quickly, which was great, and before I knew it, I was at the front of the line. Upon reaching the front of the line, I was greeted by a kind young woman, whom asked what I would like. I settled on two tacos; one with ground beef, and the other with grilled chicken. I was then given a number plaque, and asked to find a table in order to wait for the food. I waited about ten minutes, then was brought the food directly to my table, which I thought was great. When I noticed the two tacos on my dish, I was impressed with how full they were. There was also additional dipping sauce that came with my meal, along with two bottles of sauces that the server gave to me when he dropped off my food items. When I bit into the tacos, I was blown away at how delicious they were! The ground beef and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection, juicy and appetizing. I loved how full the tacos were, as there was plenty to munch on, which filled me up quite quickly. Along with the hip-happening Spanish music playing on the speaker, and the Mexican-themed decor on the walls, this restaurant truly embodied authentic Mexican cuisine. Complete with excellent service, this experience was something to remember. I will definitely be back!

We decided to start with the Fries Supreme, which have obviously been modeled after Taco Bell's iconic dish. And yeah, they definitely reminded me of that concoction. The fries could've been fresher and hotter but otherwise I quite enjoyed this messy plate. For the main, I went with a couple of tacos: the Chorizo and the Pulled Pork. The latter I found especially enjoyable, as the sauce the pork had been cooked in was delicious. (It was large chunks of pork, though, so I'm not quite sure it qualifies as pulled pork.) The many hot sauces available, plus the two sauces brought with the tacos, really elevated the whole thing, but I really enjoyed the creamy, cilantro-forward sauce included on the plate. Contigo is a cool little place. I'm sure I'll be returning.

Upon entering this restaurant, we were kindly greeted by the server at the front. As well, the décor was set just right for a Mexican restaurant, with many decorations relating to the Day Of The Dead, which is a Mexican holiday. For my meal, I had settled on the pork carnitas without any onion or cilantro, while my daughter had the french fries, and my mother had the beef picadillo. I found that the wraps for the pork carnitas weren't too fresh however, the pork was a good amount, and tasted well-prepared. I would have liked to have some sort of a sauce or topping to go with the pork carnitas however, I only had the side order of diced avocado which was given, along with some Mexican inspired rice. Overall, the food was good however, it wasn't as good as I would have hoped. The prices were a tad high for what we had gotten however, I do respect that this is a family-owned business, and prices are high at every restaurant these days. The service was definitely great, with the server coming to check in on us as we dined, and filling up our water jug from time-to-time. I may come back here to try another item, as the food is definitely authentic, and well-prepared.

While I enjoy shawarma, I often find it too heavy especially for summer, so I tend to stay away. I liked this chicken/rice box a lot since the sauce felt much lighter and easier to eat even when it's hot outside. The portion size was good; the styrofoam takeout box the meal came in was topped up and the amount in it would definitely be enough for one person. There was enough sauce, the whole bowl felt very fresh, and I liked the tomatoes that topped the bowl since it added something cold + tangy to the meal. Location is convenient, next to Square One and easy to find, but has limited (all paid) street parking. It's best to go with someone to drive, pop off quickly to pick up, and go. All in all a solid experience. I'd definitely come back for more Alijandro's Box. At the BOGO price I got it for, portion size was great, but at the original price, I'd think it leans towards being pricey, as the box isn't really that full. But, flavour and freshness are all really good, so I can anticipate myself craving this soon!
